Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Looking for what I could possibly get for Brendan Rogers and Ramiel Tapia, since they are being blocked by Story and Dahl. Any ideas?Giants/Yankees/Knicks/Blues/UFCComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
^^really appreciate all the feedback, thank you. Going to implement your responses when I get home (and after Joshua-Klitschko). I haven't completed any of these trades. Looking to do a few throughout the month but most at the deadline
Also, KC and Pittsburgh are both right around .500, so by the 31st there could be some big additions to the trade market
If the Cardinals wouldn't include him in a deal for a cheap healthy Quintana they wouldn't include him for an injured pitcher who isn't as good.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Maybe they were thinking of Alex Dickerson. Corey Dickerson is worth more than that. If you check the spreadsheet in my signature, you'll find a spreadsheet with a Corey Dickerson to Texas trade you could use for comparison. In that trade, he cost a young MLB Outfielder in DeShields Jr, a mid-tier prospect in DeLeon and a B Pitching Prospect in Palumbo.Comment

Richards and his injured UCL can't get you Reyes

Splitting hairs though as I said in my original response, "realism" tells me he wasn't going to move even before his UCL tore.
Were those rumors of Reyes not being included in a Q package before or after he went out for his TJ? After could get messy with the league. Not that it changes much in the game as everyone can have a magic potion and be healthy again, just curious."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
All things being equal, I agree. However, in his franchise, Reyes is out with TJ and Richards has a 1.70 ERA / 1.13 WHIP through 111.1 IP. The Cards are 2 back of the Brewers and both (I assume) are chasing the Cubs. Given the context, I think that makes a deal like that closer.

Richards is a Free Agent after 2018 so any team isn't getting that long with him

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Together you look at the next tier up like Duffy (before he signed his deal), Keuchel, Smyly, maybe Cole... you might have to add a small piece in this type of scenario however.
I'm shooting in the dark a little though, look around at those types of levels and see what you think.
It seems I'm a little lower on Tapia than Gamecock."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
You have 2 pretty good prospects there. What do you want?
No crab cakes for you. Ever. Mrs. Angelos is gonna be really mad with you and they may run you out of Bmore. Someone else can chime in with the surplus value but I'm not going to be involved with this madness!

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Quoting and replying to hampshirestages here, would love more feedback as well
1. Robertson shutting the door & owed 13mm next year makes him valuable. We'll need to add something here as CWS didn't trade him in the offseason in an attempt to build value and with that line, everybody is calling.
ARZ (42-41, 2nd): CP D. Robertson (18/19 Saves 0.92 WHIP 27 K 24 IP)
CWS (30-52, 5th): SP T. Clarke (59 OVR/74 Potential/#5 Prospect), LF S. Brito (65 OVR/80 Pot/#6 Pros), SS S. Alcantara (54 OVR/76 Pot/#15 Pros)
2. No. Ross was available and could not build a market. With that line, he still doesn't have a market. BAL would look elsewhere if they needed rotation help.
I'll wait until the deadline, maybe Ross turns it around or else I'll look at other options. Maybe a better package for Pineda?
4. Anything that gets TOR help in the OF, I support. I also think SRF could/should be used to make that happen. They could do worse but, could they do better?
Two other options would be Blackmon (84 OVR, .308/.345/.503 13 HR 37 RBI)* controlled through '18, or Gomez (81 OVR, .260/.318/.449 11HR 38 RBI)
5. Not enough. Drop Lake (he has no value) and add 2 C+ prospects. He's cheap with options through '20. Actually, I don't see him moving.
BOS (42-41, 3rd): RP N. Jones (85 OVR, 2-5 5.01 ERA 1.35 WHIP 61 K 15 BB 50.1 IP)
CWS (30-52, 5th): 1B N. Longhi (53 OVR/74 Pot/#9 Pros), SP T. Ball (61 OVR/78 Pot/#28 Pros), RF T. Matheny (53 OVR/76 Pot/NR)
8. Swap Guillmore w/M.Gonzalez (#14). Even then...yeesh! Mesoraco is hard to pin down as he's given us nothing the past 2 years.
I like Guillorme here, Cincy's best SS after Cozart (pending FA) is 59 OVR, and Gonzalez is a 49 OVR in game. The Reds have 3 B starters + Garrett (A potential) to go with DeSclafani, Bailey, Finnegan, and Stephenson (all 2+ more years of control)
9. Good package and I still don't think it's enough. I really hope the Rays trade him at the break IRL as with the HOU package they said no to in the offseason, it's hard to imagine what they are actually going to get in return. We may need to add here along with a PTBNL.
Does LA move Bellinger for Archer?
LAD (49-36, 1st): SP C. Archer (86 OVR, 7-6 3.92 ERA 1.37 WHIP 102 K 105.2 IP)
TB (39-45, 4th): 1B C. Bellinger (68 OVR/96 Pot/#1 Pros), SP Y. Alvarez (66 OVR/93 Pot/#2 Pros), SS G. Lux (57 OVR/78 Pot/#7 Pros), SP T. Oaks (55 OVR/78 Pot/#17 Pros), RP P. Schuster (65 OVR/79 Pot/NR, 3-2 2.09 ERA 58 K 60.1 IP in AAA)
11. I don't see it. Tough fit and why would MIL see 1g over .500 and 2nd in the NLC? How many games are they back of the WC?
I'll see where MIL is at at the end of the month. Value wise, what do you think?
12. Meh...what's CIN going to do with Ahmed?
Cozart is a FA after '17
13. I like J.Miller (#10) + C.Reed (#19) here. Back to back good years on a young rental will have lots of teams calling. If I'm risking him staying in the division with an offseason FA signing (ARZ will make a valid attempt if they are giving up trade currency) then I want a prospect and a lottery ticket.
Miller isn't in the game
ARZ (42-41, 2nd): SP T. Chatwood (73 OVR, 6-3 3.56 ERA 1.30 WHIP 76 K 93.2 IP)
COL (38-46, 4th): SP A. Young (62 OVR/78 Pot/#11 Pros), SP C. Reed (63 OVR/77 Pot/#19 Pros)
14. Wow. Umm, yeah? Realism tells me Richards doesn't move but if he has to, he will command this type of headliner.
Gamecocks said Richards doesn't get Reyes in return, even having a Cy Young season. Here's an alternative package.
STL (41-40, 3rd): SP G. Richards (84 OVR, 8-2 1.70 ERA 1.13 WHIP 89 K 111.1 IP)
LAA (37-49, 5th): CF H. Bader (68 OVR/90 Pot/#5 Pros), SP J. Flaherty (57 OVR/80 Pot/#8 Pros), SS E. Sosa (61 OVR/75 Pot/#13 Pros), LF J. Martinez (66 OVR, .250/.294/.348 1 HR 12 RBI 132 AB)Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Don't hate me Hampshire. But Jones isn't that great anymore. You may have even overpaid with those 3
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Operation Sports mobile app
However, in my homer state of mind, trading A.Jones is like trading D.Jeter or D.Pedroia just because they aren't what they were 2 years prior. He's Mr. O and just because he's in his depreciation cycle full speed (I didn't say that), doesn't mean he's any less valuable to his current team. I've said my piece and will now excuse myself and my homer opinion."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Since we're using the numbers, it may just be you and me on this with Gamecock chiming in just so I don't give a Reyes-type player away. I'm going to stick with it so we don't eat up pages (not that it's a huge deal as we only had a few questions today).
1. I still feel it's light. Does he have to go to ARZ? We seem to be dumping their farm in your franchise, is this their last ditch effort before blowing it up? What is WAS doing? (or are you controlling ARZ and we're trying to win?)
2. Keep an eye on KC. I did T.Mancini for I.Kennedy straight up a few weeks ago and though I feel it may be a bit of an overpay, if Kennedy is pitching just average, he takes over Jimenez money on the books and Tillman can walk. NYY would forfeit the season before they traded Pineda to the O's.
4. If we could get TOR Blackmon and have them keep Alford, every Canadian in here might kiss us. This could be where a SRF/Urena type package (we just did something like this, I forget for who though...Pollock?) comes into play. You mentioned there is some time, let's get closer and see where TOR is in the standings before we give up half their farm.
5. Good to go. Again, if he HAS to move. He's cheap'ish' and we have CWS dumping Robertson (which should happen anyway). Somebody has to close games for them, they will win every once in a while.
8. CIN has a SS of the future in Rodriguez (they gave him 7mm when he came over from Cuba) and you can never have too many arms. Especially when one of them is an A POT former basketball playing project (heavy sarcasm here). Plus, if we're giving them Ahmed...
9. Let's use this to set the value. It serves multiple purposes and we won't have to talk about Archer too much until mid-July. I don't think LAD will sell them farm for him...but they might. Gamecock, what do you think here?
11. I really don't see it. I might be too high on Braun but, especially if they're competitive and will get better next year, why move him? Plus, I just don't think SF has the pieces. I'm willing to defer though, that contract is a beast for a small market club.
12. Ok.
13. Miller is in A ball on my roster (though I'm using OSFM 1.75). As a matter of fact, I want to do a little more research on this one (I looked at all 14 deals in a hour, I think I'm light on this...I might want all 3). Again, I'm starting to noticed a trend...if you're not controlling ARZ, do you have family there?
14. I'm ok with this. But I like Richards and his UCL is still connected in your franchise. Gamecock was talking about Weaver as well so I think this is a good compromise."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment
