Yankee Bullpen gutted me tonight. What's it cost to get Andrew Miller back in pinstripes? One less playoff run should probably mean less, but I imagine it still costs Frazier +?

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
This trade isn't realistic since the Indians are still very good and want their good bullpen

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
If I'm the Indians, (1) I wouldn't give him back and (2) if I did I would require a larger package than I gave up. Id say you can give a package with Torres or you can find a reliever somewhere else.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Do you think there is the potential for a 3 team trade, with me (the Rays), the Cubs and the Twins, that results in the Cubs getting Kevin Kiermaier and me getting Byron Buxton + prospects and the Twins getting prospects?
Buxton is struggling badly like in real life and could really do with a change or scenery, while Kiermaier is hitting about .265 with about 20 stolen bases.
I'm guessing it would be unrealistic or impossible to realistically work?Comment

A Kiermaier to the Cubs trade even without the Twins involved makes sense, unless you don't like anyone the Cubs have to offer.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I don't see any scenario where the Twins trade Buxton. 23 years old, pre-arb and plays gold glove caliber defense at a premium position. Yeah he is struggling big time in the offense department but his defense is more than making up for it.

Might be too soon for that, they probably would give him at least until the end of the year to try and prove he's a major league hitter.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I liked the idea of a replacement who wouldn't be a huge downgrade defensively and figured Buxton fit the bill. He's currently hitting .197, so I'm not really sure his defence is more than making up for that at this point, I just thought it might be approaching the point where the Twins were willing to cut their losses on him if they could get someone like Almora Jr and maybe a young pitcher or two thrown in.

Might consider going after Almora yourself, he might have a higher offensive upside but either one would look really good in a young Rays lineup.Comment

I would go for a prospect with high C potential but already high 70's overall and see if he can get hot in the minors and bring up that potential.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
What would each of these guys cost as the Red Sox?
Jed Lowrie - 46 AB, 9 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 0 SB, .348 AVG (He's missed most of the season so far due to a broken hand, so value wise, base his return on past success combined with real life stats for this year)
Marwin Gonzalez - 252 AB, 18 R, 4 HR, 27 RBI, 4 SB, .183 AVG
** Tyler Flowers - 205 AB, 22 R, 4 HR, 20 RBI, 0 SB, .220 AVG
Devin Mesoraco - 201 AB, 19 R, 6 HR, 21 RBI, 0 SB, .204 AVG
Jonathan Villar - 253 AB, 38 R, 2 HR, 19 RBI, 30 SB, .261 AVG
** Brandon Drury - 239 AB, 24 R, 7 HR, 18 RBI, 0 SB, .238 AVG
** Yangervis Solarte - 251 AB, 26 R, 8 HR, 26 RBI, 0 SB, .243 AVG
I need a catcher and third baseman, plus a utility player would be a welcomed addition as well, so some of them can obviously be packaged together. The ones with stars are the ones I'm most interested in.
Also, would the Phillies consider moving Franco (274 AB, 40 R, 16 HR, 50 RBI, 0 SB, .255 AVG) with the stats he's put up so far, plus also being 1.5 games out from the wild card and 2 out of the east? I'd be willing to include established major leaguers like E-Rod and Bradley Jr. if need be, plus Devers.Last edited by UNDERTAKER1215; 07-03-2017, 12:55 PM.Boston Red Sox New England Patriots Boston Celtics Boston BruinsComment

I simed to the trade deadline & was thinking of making these trades: Guerra, Perez & Broxton to Cleveland for Aiken & Mejia. Then Anderson & Villar to the Rangers for Profar, Guzman & Jurado. Just looking for something fair. Thanks
You could get Lowrie I would imagine a C+ to B- prospect. Maybe a Brian Johnson + Josh Ockimey gets it done.
Tyler Flowers is on the last year of his deal. You also want a utility so lets find a way to get you a C and UTL. What about Flowers + Jace Peterson for Blake Swihart. You get short term fix at C and a guy who can play a bunch of positions for one of your Catchers you seem to have soured on.
I think I previously mentioned a Mesoraco + Cozart deal to you so I'll stick to whatever I previously said there.
Villar broke out big time last year. And he has a lot of team control. The Brewers would want something good in return. I'd think the Brewers would take something like E-Rod +
Dalbec
Brandon Drury could definitely be obtained. The DBacks have an easy replacement in Ketel Marte. The DBacks always need more arms so maybe something like Raudes and a lotto ticket like Josh Tobias
Solarte has a decent bit of value. The Padres seem to be asking for a lot in their trades though. He's signed for the next 4 years and pretty cheap. The Padres really need a SS of the future, but you don't have that. I'm not sure how to get you Solarte without an overpay. We might have to come back to this one.
JoeJoe is up next.
Guerra, Perez & Broxton to Cleveland for Aiken & Mejia. This one won't work. Guerra would be like the #4 or #5 on the Indians after Kluber, Carrasco, Salazar and maybe Bauer. Hernan Perez is good but really just a valuable utility. You wouldn't play him over Lindor, Ramirez, or Kipnis so best case you get him in an OF corner and he has the same problem as Broxton. Broxton is also good but the Indians already have Zimmer at CF, Bradley at LF and Chissenhall has been pretty good. Not to mention that Mejia is a top end catching prospect, he's actually the best catching prospect in baseball. Teams tend to hold onto those.
You also don't really see teams trade away 3 guys all from the MLB roster in the same trade. It makes it pretty unrealistic. If the Indians traded Mejia it would be for a guy that no questions improves their odds of winning a WS. I don't think the 3 you listed do that.
Anderson & Villar to the Rangers for Profar, Guzman & Jurado. This is another fit issue. Where does Villar play? He won't replace Beltre, Odor or Andrus. That means he's at best a DH. But why trade away prospects for a DH when the Rangers can just use Gallo, the better bat.
The 5 players you want to trade have value and are by no means bad players. But the fit for the other team has to be there.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Want to seek approval from the sim committee as to whether or not this was a fair and realistic trade.
Rangers receive
CP Zach Britton
1b Chris Davis
SS Ruben Tejada
Orioles receive
SP Yohander Mendez 22 yr old 65 ovr A pot (currently in AA)
RP Keone Kela 81 overall
C AJ Jimenez 71 overall
To be able to judge the trade I really should give you the Rangers' record but I don't know it is. It is the middle of June. If they believe themselves to be in playoff contention I don't think they pass this up.Comment
