Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I wasn't in the original discussion, but am interested in bringing Corey Dickerson to ATL. There was a post about basing a deal around Ruiz and I was intrigued. This would be ST at the start of year 1. I'd love to make it Archer + Dickerson and really cash in some prospects, but not sure I can get that done without including Albies, and just not ready to do that yet, thus focusing more on Dickerson.Comment

And MrSerendipity, I'll take a stab at your options when I get to my computer in a bit since its a lot to take on using my phone

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
OK here we go, still not bitten the bullet as im not definitely going Angels, but if I can get a couple deals done... ill pack my bags and fly to LA!
PIT > LAA
McCutcheon
LAA > PIT
Calhoun, Heaney and Meyer (or Marsh)
I think if the above works, im starting. In game the deal works out fine for both parties. On the face of it, PIT get a decent under control outfielder in Calhoun, leaving them not having to lose McCutcheon at his expiry. Then on top, a MLB ready pitcher in Heaney... then a prospect either pitching or outfield.
Sod it, its a go-er... cant see any downside for PIT.
Based on your comments I would equate this to me walking into a FIFA thread and asking to trade the sweeper from Man City for the Chelsea goalie. Sure I watch soccer and know some of the names but have little idea about the value behind them (not even sure my example makes sense!).
Again, for the lurkers, this is a video game trade and not a deal I would support under normal circumstances."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'll attempt to make this a bit easier as to not get 4 or 5 deals working at once. Do the Hosmer deal. It's a win-win and I could see him playing in Texas for a long time. If you want Cain (and considering he's not playing very well, and injured), wait until the offseason and buy him. He'll be for sale and that way you don't have to spend your prospect capital. The rest of your targets (minus Dickerson, I'll get to him in my next post) are really expensive (but you already knew that!). If there is one in particular you can't live without, let's take a look.
Hughes and Duffy can be looked at as rotation help if you really need it. I assume Perez is pitching well and Darvish is doing his thing? Would bullpen help be more appropriate?
That's my 2 cents. Remember Gamecockslaw is also going to chime in so hold tight...though I understand, I'm trying to get some games in today between phone calls."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Don't worry about the info, the more the better. I did cut it out of my response so as not to clog up the thread but more often than not, I (and others that respond) will be asking for more data, not less.

To be honest if you want Votto, Goldschmidt, Myers, Jones, Quintana, Duffy or Cole you would have to start with Mazara and then add from there. You probably don't have the pieces to realistically add anyone from this group.
You could get Dickerson maybe the Rays would take Profar for him.
I agree with the above about Cain since he is hurt.
You could get Tanaka if you want to make a run but remember he will opt out after the season and has a string left connecting his UCL. I think Yoander Mendez straight up would be enough.
Baltimore will have no interest in selling Bundy. And the previous conversation on Phil Hughes should suffice.
If you mean Juan Lagares from the Mets you would need to add something that actually improves the Giants instead of your 4th or 5th OF. It would probably take something like Gsellman, maybe Matz depending on what his injury history means to you, for the Giants to give you ArroyoComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm at the trade deadline of my 2nd season with the greatest sports franchise in the universe, the New York Yankees. I just sent Tyler Austin and Rutherford to the A's for Sonny Gray. I let CC walk at the end of my first season and signed Darvish to a 3 year deal. Now my rotation is stacked: Tanaka, Darvish, Pineda, Gray, and Severino.Comment

Also, unless there was a second part to this post, it might be better in the franchise thread."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment
