Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
And Hampshire, that deal seems good to me. The potential of Harvey should be enticing enough

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
We all know I'm an O's fan (maybe you couldn't tell by the big bird beneath my user id) and I brought this type of trade up earlier but it didn't really get worked out and now I've changed it a little so...
BAL - J. Marisnick + C. Moran
HOU - H. Harvey
'B' arm for a player and a maybe/should be. Don't want to be a homer but I think I'm there...thoughts?Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Harvey has the projectable talent but also has a small frame and has show injury concerns. Time to let another club take a crack at him. Maybe he develops, maybe he doesn't but I don't think I'm asking a lot from HOU to take the risk. Also helps with their farm depth as Mr. Gammons has told us HOU really, really wants Archer."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah but none of them can "go get it". Helps a little this year with a very poor defensive OF but next year, Jake takes over in CF (I don't care if he doesn't hit, I have plenty of bats) and Jones moves to RF to start saving what he has left in his career (I will retire him as an O). Let Hardy walk next year and move Manny over to SS to show him I really want him in Baltimore with Moran taking over at 3B (again, I don't need him to hit, just man the hot corner).

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm slightly confused as to "your" 4th OF. If you're talking BAL, I'll keep Kim and probably just add a vet FA for next year if needed. If you're asking for HOU, Fisher or Hernandez are really close and should be able to fill in this year (I'll wait until the deadline to make this deal) and D. Cameron is on a fast track for late '18.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I can do that. As I said before, I prefer to tax myself for personal trades and will find a suitable, young AA farm hand with C POT to include in the deal (the infamous PTBNL). IRL, I'd even consider an international bonus slot.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Gotcha. I will use J. Marisnick in that role (along with the recently resigned M. Bourn) this year with both getting spot starts to provide days off for all 3. Smart money tells me S. Smith doesn't make it a full year without getting some kind of ankle/knee/hamstring/3 day flu issue and Kim hasn't shown me quite enough to be an everyday player (yet). Both Jake and Bourn are true OF's where Mancini, who I like, just doesn't have the speed/glove of those guys. Trumbo is getting 11 mil a year to hit bombs, the only time he leaves the bench is with a bat in his hand."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Hi again I'm with the jays and I'm looking to add an right handed arm for my bullpen. My bullpen as been a little weak recently and I need an upgrade. I'm looking for a guy with high velocity fastball and a good strikeout pitch to go with it like a slider or curve with lots of break. The only guy off the top of my head I can think of is Bruce rondon but I'm sure there are lots of others out there.
I'm open to any recommendations.
Thank you.Last edited by pickle2002; 04-16-2017, 09:12 PM.Comment

Pap isn't really a high velocity type reliever anymoreComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
True. However, if you give 8-10 mph difference from the FB to the breaking ball/change, 90 looks like 95.
Your recommendations are expensive, mine were cheap or in-house. Just giving options/choices for a team that may not want to break the bank for somebody short of a closer."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment
