Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
We work in realism in this thread unless the poster states otherwise so that's where my response comes from

They would have no reason to make a trade with any team to include JBJ unless it was because he hit another slump like last year and they wanted to find someone else.
The A's in the case would have no real trading power for a team like Boston unless Price ends up being done for the season. In which case I could see a JBJ trade to Oakland for Sonny Gray and Rajai Davis.
The Yankees current prospects give them the longevity they've been building towards. The only way I could see them trade any of those guys for anyone would be sending Bird, Judge and Betances/and another to Washington for Bryce Harper or LA for Trout.
Oakland simply has nothing I would want if I were NYY.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
In the scheme of the BoSox outfield status, JBJ is crucial because of injuries. They are basically working on a 4 guy rotation. Assuming you don't count Brock Holt.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
You're way over valuing the Yankees guys. Judge or Bird would be like the 3rd piece at best on a Harper or Trout deal. Now Sanchez I agree isn't going anywhere

The Nationals would be crazy to turn down an offer like Bird, Judge and Frazier.
The Angels would probably be able to demand Tanaka as well for Trout.
I don't see how you can deny a trade like that making sense if you consider both Harper and Trout have Yankees rumors spewing already.
Also, if this is strictly a real life trade discussion it should be moved to the Baseball section instead of MLB The Show.

The Angels and Nationals should both start considering a proactive approach with Harper and Trout if they aren't in the World Series hunt this year.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I was making a lot of the same arguments a few days ago about trout because in my franchise they are like 30 games below .500 and they have the worst farm system and the worst team in my franchise with not much hope of getting much better right now. But I didn't make the trade since everyone was saying I'd have to offer the Yankees top 5 prospects plus judge and Sanchez. Which I thought was steep but everyone has their opinions on how a franchise should run. If I were the angels I'd blow it up no matter if trout was going to my Yankees or not.
The Yankees making that deal for Trout would be a steal for both teams as the Angels are basically like the Mariners with Griffey, they have the best player in the game and they use and abuse him for ticket sales and no real effort to win it all.
Trout is from NJ... do you really think he'd be mad if the Yankees found a way to get him away from losers?

You should have made the deal. I'm using the Indians and have no real need... nor do I have the monetary means to keep either guy long term.

You're treating Bird, a 1B/DH only guy who just came off shoulder surgery like a top-25 prospect. And Judge was #90 on the Baseball America preseason list.
My point wasn't that Judge and Bird couldn't be used by the Nationals or the Angels, just that it would take a lot more than those two to get either Harper or TroutComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm not gonna rehash the Trout trade talks, but currently this is nothing like the Griffey Jr. Trade. Trout still has 4 years left on his contract. And the Angels wouldn't want Tanaka who is about to opt out after 2017.

Tanaka won't opt out cuz he still has a partial tear in his elbow so teams won't spend more than what Tanaka has left on his dealComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah because you like MLB.com and I clearly stated the #90 was from Baseball America.
