Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Hi guys, I have a Yankees chise with OSFM V1.5. Off to a 9-12 start but my hitting has been horrendous. Sanchez hitting .167 in 78 AB, Ellsbury .187 in 80 AB, and Matt Holliday .194 in 67 AB. I traded a package around Brett Gardner to the Rangers for Jurickson Profar in spring training. Going to be calling up Didi in the middle of May as that seems when he will be back IRL. I need a high contact right handed hitter, who should I be targeting? Thanks fellas!

But I do agree it is about giving advice instead of telling people what to do. I didn't make a lot of trades because of this discussion board which I have liked for this year playing the show because I have more realistic trades but I am the type that will push trade limits to try to make my team the best which is why in years past the comp has gottten screwed in trades but this year I thought I'd try to use this thread to keep me honest.
AC is right, I should have used different wording. The reason I used the wording I did is because we did have a protracted discussion on the matter, with 3 or 4 of us coming to a general consensus, telling you our thoughts, before a debate broke out about it that lasted several pages. You weren't the only person involved, I'll concede that, but when multiple people (including the most knowledgable and helpful people in the thread) all suggest the exact same thing, it's time to move on. Debate is good, carrying it on and yes, clogging up the thread with the same points and a totally inappropriate argument with another poster is antithetical to what this message board is all about.

So here's my suggestion to you: stop making proxy accounts in which you out yourself as being a banned member. I'm not exactly up to date on the TOS, nor am I a moderator, but I suspect your behaviour is violating them. Accept your "punishment" and move on, man. I'm assuming you haven't been banned for life, so just take what's been given and come back when you're free, so to speak. We can continue some productive dialogue then.

Agreed. I love debating and sometimes don't know when to stop because debates get you the best info in the end but at times I take it to far and typically in the end i see what everyone means and their opinions and I take them into account hence me not making a yelich trade from early in the thread or making a trout trade. I want people to keep people honest in trades and give opinions. Everyone has a different view on how they would deal as a GM. And to go back to the banned part it said it was a lifetime ban which is why I have tried reaching out to the admin.

What would it take to get Quintana to Milwaukee. If I didn't have to give up Brinson that would be great, but I understand keeping your best prospect isn't easy to do in a blockbuster trade. Could I center something are Corey Ray?

I think you could get it done without Brinson but it makes the 2nd and 3rd piece higher quality players. So something like Ray + Hader + Isan Diaz or Erceg

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Just started my DBACKS franchise and I'm looking for possible trade options. Considering giving up a quality arm and bat, a throw in player to try to get a big bat like Gallo and profor or whatever's offered up. Also considered getting Javier Baez from the cubs for some quality players but I'm not sure how much better I'd be making an already great cubs team. Looking for more younger, high potential players as I try to build up the DBACKs franchise

What would be reasonable landing spots for Brett Gardner and Starlin Castro?

Trying to gauge their values as I want to call up Frazier/Torres potentially at the deadline depending on team performance

I'm not sure Gallo would be much more useful to you than Jake Lamb who's already on your roster. As far as Baez, The Cubs probably wouldn't get rid of him unless they got young quality pitching in return. Maybe you could parlay Taijuan Walker and Archie Bradley into Baez but I'm just spitballing there.

Starlin Castro has little to no value. He's basically the player his contract is worth so there isn't really any surplus. You could get a middle reliever or a lotto ticket prospect. Gardner is a little more valuable, but you still wouldn't get anything too great. Which teams are contending and need OF help?

What Gamecockslaw said is true. The only way you can get Baez is with Walker, Corbin who you would have to trade at the deadline depending on how he is doing or Archie Bradley, but you can do that because the D-Backs have Anthony Banda waiting in the wings

Gardner you could get a B value prospect and for Castro maybe 2 low C prospects at best. Its also kinda hard because I don't know the teams that are interested in a LF like Garnder. Could you list the teams that are interested in Gardner and Castro so we can make as real of a deal as we can

Frankie Rodriguez is terrible for my Tigers and I'm still looking for closer help. Maybe someone like David Robertson? Divisional but still a team in rebuild mode. Open to any other suggestions.

That sounds pretty spot on. Castro is worth pretty much nothing at this point with gardner having little value to a team that needs any outfielder since he can play all spots in the outfield.
