Not necessarily a trade here but need to see what you all think might be the best move.

Willson Contreras is going to be out 1-2 months with injury. And the catching position is the one area where the Cubs don't have much depth. My minor league options are awful and the only decent catching prospect is Victo Caratini. However, he's been struggling in Double-A so I don't think a call to the Big Leagues would be the best idea.

That leaves me with signing a free agent (Dionner Navarro comes to mind) or trading for a backup. Obviously Miguel Montero will be starting but I need a backup.

The last option would be letting Schwarber play behind the plate a few games.

What do you think my best move is?

The return of the former ROY Geovany Soto as a platoon bat with Montero (good attributes against lefties) and only signed for one year. Wouldn't cost too much either. And he's on the rebuilding White Sox so they won't miss him and can call up Kevan Smith to split time with Narvaez.

        RHP Tyler Clippard (84 OVR): 6.1 IP, 0.00 ERA, 2 SV, 9/3 K/BB, 0.63 WHIP

What can these two get together? Separate? Obviously I'd like to Cashgod this sucker up, but I don't think I'm getting four A prospects for these guys.
Simmed to July and the Yanks are 13 games out of the East. Definitely looking to move at least one if not both of these guys. Neither of them are perfect anymore, but they're both around 1 ERA and they've been consistently around 1 WHIP. There's nothing to say that these guys can't get a maximum return. Should I try to get a couple of A prospects for them? Clippard can't get an A by himself, but with Betances I think two As and a B is a possibility if I can get to a contending team with a weak 'pen.

I recently started a Pirates Franchise since I love the ballpark. I don't care for Kang too much so I traded him on the search trade offers. One of them was from the Rockies for McMahon and Harrison Musgrave. So I made the trade but there was no where for Kang to play. I'm going to start over to play with the OSFM 1.75 rosters. Where would a good place to trade Kang and what kind of prospects could I get for him?

Lewis being the better prospect of the two is the general consensus from what I've seen.

Although I don't think you'd want to move O'Neil + Moore (for example) for a guy who's contract is up this year unless you take the option for 2018.

That being said I think O'Neil + Moore + 1 would probably get it done.

Im not sure what I can get for them since they are all starting to get up there in age and have high end contracts.

Not sure you can move Cano or Felix due to the fact that you can't eat any of the $ they are being paid. Seagers a stretch making $14mil a year but he is under contract for 4-5 more years.

I think Cruz would be the easiest one to move but even then he'd have to be replicating his past stats for a team to use him as a rental (think Cespedes).

Cespedes was traded for Luis Cessa and Michael Fulmer.

Cruz is also 5 years older and hits for average lower than Cespedes so I'd say less than what the Mets gave up in 2015.

I figured that getting rid of cano and felix would be pretty much impossible to do. Cruz will be a wait and see trade depending on how he is doing a month or two into the season. Seager Im not sure if I even want to trade him or if I want to keep him.

I have Justin Smoak on the trade block and looking for a speedy OF option. It says Rays, Twins, As, Astros and Pirates as seeking a 1B. Would any of these deals be fair/realistic:

                    1) Smoak for Zach Granite. Granite in AAA and Smoak could be seen as an upgrade to Vargas or Park.

                    2) Smoak for Bourjos. Tampa gets a platoon with Weeks who is playing everyday at present. Bourjos hasn't seen much PT so far and would take over as my backup OF.

                    3) Smoak + prospects to the As for a Rajai Davis renunion. Not sure what to add here.

                    4) don't see much from the Pirates unless anyone has an idea.

                    5) Smoak + for Marisnick. Again not sure what I could add but seems like it might cost too much.

Deals 1-2 seem the best fit so just wondering if I could get Granite. If not I'll take Bourjos.

I'm in the 17-18 offseason. I would like to acquire James Paxton as the Cubs. His numbers from last year are 32 GS 195.1 IP 66 BB 178 K 1.26 WHIP 1.2 HR/9 3.0 BB/9 8.2 K/9 3.78 ERA 4.01 FIP 2.6 WAR. I still have all of my prospects available as I was quiet at the deadline. Just wondering what it would take to get him to the north side? Thanks!

Kang is borderline worthless at the moment if we're being realistic. He's going to miss at least three months due to character mistakes. Assuming the absolute best, he's back in a lineup by Mid-June. That's being overly optimistic. Right now, I would place his value around mid 20's with 70-74 Potential if the team has a need.

Thank you. Yeah I want to be real and don't play him either because he's going to take a spot on my roster. But maybe I can put him in the Minors.

So my Blue Jays franchise didn't go as planned and we are 18 back of the Red Sox in mid july so looking to sell some assets going into the deadline to make it more fun. I'm not sure of value on the players because i am a big fan but some players i'm looking at trading are:

Josh Donaldson 3B: Hitting just like every year with a 295 average and 28 homers to a 4.4 WAR. Looking for top end prospects almost MLB ready for him. Annual MVP candidate with 1.5 years of control left.
Teams: St Louis- 52-36 1 game back of cubs. If they want to compete with cubs have to make a splash. Gyroko is out 1-2 months.
Mets- 51-37 leading division by 1, could use 3B upgrade with Wright out and Reyes struggling.
Red Sox- 59-31 flat out dominating could be best team in MLB with upgrade to 3B. Unlikely because in the same division but thought i should list.

J.A Happ SP: Pitching not his best to a 2 WAR (3.75 ish era) but still a very solid pitcher coming off a 20 win season with an affordable contract for 1.5 more years.
Marco Estrada SP: Free agent to be pitching to a 2.3 WAR
Francisco Liriano SP: Free agent to be pitching to a 1.4 WAR
Steve Pearce 1B: Having a career year with a 3 WAR (.293 21 HRs) with 1.5 years left at 6.5 per.
Tulo SS: 2.4 WAR 3years/54mil left i believe after this year.
Bautista RF/DH: 1.9 WAR free agent to be (options won't be picked up)

                            Teams in contention:
                            Red Sox 59-31
                            Yankees 50-38
                            Indians 52-37
                            Royals 47-41
                            Angels 57-35
                            Mariners 47-43
                            Rangers 46-42
                            Nats 52-37
                            Mets 51-37
                            Phillies 46-42
                            Cubs 53-35
                            Cardinals 52-36
                            Giants 57-33
                            Dodgers 53-38

Thanks for the help i'm gonna temper my expectations because of bias but would appreciate feedback. Sorry for it being kind of long but put all the info i could.

You're gonna have to give up Ian Happ plus some more young depth. Paxton is young and expensive to trade for

What do you think it takes to get Jeff Hoffman out of Colorado this season? Haven't started a franchise yet, will be with the Yankees, but doubt they have the pieces to bring him over. Thoughts?
