Even when the servers are working the game is one of the worst online games I've played. Frame rate/lag issues on every pitch,swing etc. I can deal with that though. I can just not play against another human and I'm fine with that. Not being able to do missions and not getting rewards is bad though.

Have they released a list of issues the server maintenance fixed? I thought they did that last year.

Come on man, that's like telling a franchise guy to play DD if there is a large bug in franchise.

Franchise mode and RTTS are staple modes with this series. My point is why not try those UNTIL the issue is resolved.

With the amount of money SDS makes on DD, you could argue it's just as much of a staple. Some people only play DD and do not touch the other modes and vice versa. I think it's fair to expect that popular game mode would be working, and if not, at least they could keep the consumer base apprised of what is going on and what they are attempting to do about it. We had server maintenance this morning. Great. Reports are that there are still server issues.

I think the lack of communication is just as frustrating as the wonky servers.

Barely.

Things like the game freezing, being thrown out of games, slow menus and experience being reset doesn't exactly make people think that's much safer.

Even after the maintenance today there's reports of users having their experience reset.

Some modes just don't appeal to others. I personally split time between Rtts, Franchise, and DD. But if hypothetically 17 didn't have Rtts, for some reason it was completely removed. I won't have bought the game. Despite all the additions this year and still having franchise and dd, I wouldn't have gotten it. So I can understand someone putting the game down until the servers are back and working 100%.

Imagine if I had posted in the franchise stream thread something like, "If people are disappointed in franchise, why not play some DD?". Now that's not a fair comparison to what you said. As you were implying just for the time being to play other modes, but I feel it relates back to the topic of favourite mode. Everyone has their favourite way to play, and for most people we don't want to play any other way.

So I guess after that ramble my point is, it's understandable to me for someone to not want to play other modes as usually people only want to play a specific one. And if what I made up above had been actually posted, I would've received about 10 angry replies.

The Event is already broken, supposed to be Bronze and Commons only but I see plenty of people using Silver Players.

The unfortunate reality is that when the game mode that I want to play is not functioning I don't play other modes. I switch to other games.


Last night instead of banging my head against the wall trying to complete the Opening Day mission (after wasting an hour of my free time) I simply played Diablo 3 instead. If your game is driving people to other games after only a week then there is a problem.


I've said it before, I was much more tolerant last year as it was the first big year for the new mode. I am less tolerant this year because it seems like they once again did not anticipate the popularity of the DD modes or their servers are just plain awful.

I've never been able to get any of the Show games to play ok online. None. And I've played just about every game of The Show since it began on the PS3.

I feel awful for you guys who are trying to play online but I must admit I'm wondering if all these years I could have been playing online with other people but just tried it at the launch of the game, it either didn't work or was awful, and I just went back to my usual playing offline versus the CPU.

It's not just online vs other players though. For example Conquest and Play Vs CPU can be used to progress most missions. The games are played fine. It is essentially an offline playing experience. It only needs to send the data back to the server when you exit the game and it has issues even with that.

Here is my .02 that no one asked for.

When a game that comes out so close to their real life sport they are making it for (Show release 3/28 MLB Opening Day 4/2), I'm highly anxious to play. Since I was a wee one, when I would watch a sporting event, I would later get the mood to re-enact the games I was watching. RBI baseball on Sega and everything else was my jam. When online started to become more prevalent for sports games, the excitement that I got from playing someone else quickly overshadowed playing the CPU. My level of competitiveness is way too high to get any sort of enjoyment beating the computer haha, especially since I'm past my college playing days so I'm too old to play actual sports in a competitive nature (Rec leagues dont count lol). This is the closest I can get.

So when online is having issues like such, on my favorite sports game no less, I get cranky. I'm being incredibly patient as this game is quite amazing and I know it will get fixed at some point...but having this issue on ONLY this game for the past several years really gets annoying. I understand they have a smaller team. I understand its probably out of their control. I understand all this and I'm not one of these people ranting on Twitter how I deserve packs or sending hate mail to Ramone or anything. Its incredibly frustrating and the small amount of communication of the masses (I know they answer tweets personally to some) between players-developers doesnt help things. At the end of the day, its such a 1st world problem to be worried about an online video game, but somehow here I am

Overall, I'll continue waiting because I love this game and I know other people do too. I play RTTS and Franchise to hold me over, but its not enough.
