The Show has a very loyal fan base, but even the most loyal fans are starting to get agitated. To use the excuse that weekends and evenings are high demand times for the servers- while true- is still unacceptable. I am lucky enough to work from home and can play during the week and mornings, but the majority of users are working or in school during the day, and weekends and week nights are the only time they can play. Telling those people to suck it up and be patient doesn't cut it. I've been playing The Show religiously since the early PS3 days, and I'm finally reaching my tipping point. Saying that they have a small dev team doesn't cut it anymore, either.

Well said. I lost my time limited missions both yesterday and opening day because of the server.

I would have been fine with losing some DD progress here and there, since DD is a filler (a very fun filler) until Hybrid Rosters get done so I can start my franchise mode.

BUT if this crap starts killing franchise games? I'm going to be REALLY upset. That is a huge oversight and unnecessarily convoluted way to do things, connecting something that's offline to online right at the end and then hinging its success upon there being a server connection. I love this dev team, but whoever had that idea should be fired. That is one of the stupidest design decisions I've ever seen. Send it to the queue, anything but hinging it upon the server being up.

And I also agree with you about the small dev team. I get so tired of hearing that. i understand that it's probably true. But it gets repeated SO MUCH.

Remember the uproar when xbox one was coming out and they demanded being online all the time for the console and games to work. It's the same thing now with most games and the show. I only play offline in all the games I play and I hate that it's become the norm that even for offline you have to have a online connection.

As for the nights and weekends excuse I'm pretty certain more people play 2K and EA games more than The Show and those 2 companies servers hardly go down on nights and weekends.

It's inexcusable in 2017 to use that excuse. It sounds like they don't even have a plan to fix it. They'll just wait it out like every year when people start selling the game by May and the load on the servers is decreased.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a video game dev justify server issues with the heavy traffic thing. That's something an online store or ticketmaster does when a popular event or item goes on sale at a specific time. Video game servers should just be able to handle it.

I just played an offline franchise game without it locking up. Not sure how actual online play is today. But for those playing offline modes, it doesn't appear that you'll have to disconnect from the internet while playing.

Universal profile isn't new this year. It's been in the game for several years. That's the point at which the game was hanging.

That being said, I really do feel for you online guys. This is really inexcusable at this point.

I played DD for a couple hours this morning with no issues, games played smooth and didn't queue... then I went to play again about an hour ago and the game froze in the 1st inning

Well, after taking a break the last few days because of sheer frustration with disconnects, I got one 9 inning game completed against the CPU this morning and it counted so that was good.

Played a second one and it went much longer as I knocked out 22 hits as I tried to get my second victory against the Reds to complete the second step of the Reds Mystery Mission. I went through the post game screens and then.....

"You have lost connection to the server"

Time to quit for a few days in frustration again. Way to keep driving me to play other games SDS.

All but gave up til they get it together. Played 3 games so choppy it wasn't worth it. The innings that played well was fun.. But it was like maybe 4 innings a game so just not worth it. I will play of five til they figure it out.

Went to play some batting practice and the game booted me out midway

That's it, that's a sign I'm not going to be playing today and go find something else to do.

Reading this thread I haven't had anywhere near the problems most of you seem to be having.

In fact, since the day of release, this is only the second time I've had a game go to the queue, which is what prompted me to check out this thread again.

Granted, I play way more offline than online. It's still frustrating because I'm literally 5 K's away from 91 C.C Sabathia and the game I just completed didn't count
