I think this is an old bug. I have seen it posted about old versions of the game when googling it.

My RTTS character is a SP. Towards the beginning of his career, I went to the equipment selection screen and turned on all that I had available (including a wrist guard). Apparently pitchers aren't supposed to have this option, because when I go to edit the wrist guard the choice isn't there to edit. When I remove it from the equipment selection screen, it only removes the brand name one and replaces it with the generic wrist guard. I would like to remove it but can't. Any help would be appreciated.

Opinions will obviously vary on this but I have used all interfaces over the years and I have been solely using meter for the last 2 years.

To me, it allows user input for pitch speed and location but also takes into account the pitcher's ratings. You could say the same for analog and pulse as well. I feel I get realistic stats using meter in my franchises.

I know Timing is a popular option and probably plays more on the pitcher's ratings than the others. I would consider it the easiest to control but of course a strike or ball depends heavily on your pitcher's ratings such as control, BB/9, H/9, etc.

I do like timing but with timing, I don't feel as in control because you just aim for location and press/hold the button for pitch speed and to complete the throw.

I feel meter still allows me to feel more involved with the aspects of each pitch while also allowing pitcher ratings to come into play to end up with the final pitch result.

Again, everybody's preferences on pitching interfaces will be different. But IMO meter feels more authentic/realistic and works best for me.

Ok. Thanks for your reply. I have been using analog and having a lot of success with it. Meter was a bit challenging for me, but I have not had that much experience with it.

I also noticed online some of the developers of the game using meter so I was unsure as to which mode is the best. I know developers will sometimes create games where a specific mode/difficulty level is optimized perfectly for the game so I was looking for the happy medium of realism as well as realistic stats.

What is the strategy to try to tag a runner who's stealing a base ? Just throw the ball to the catcher and then, throw to the base ?

Or there is some "special" tricks to be more effective like throwing a special pitch ?

Can anyone help me with this problem. I have stud on my team that are only playing in 140ish games a year. Why is the CPU auto subbing so often?

You can't manually tag when a runner is sliding into the base, so it's just a matter of when the ball gets there and how far away the runner is from the base. It's easier to throw runners out when you throw a fastball because the ball gets to the catcher a little quicker, so he can get it to the base quicker as well. Other than that, there's not much you can do.

Hold the left stick in the direction of the base they are on and push L2.

Hi guys,

Very helpful thread.

I play exclusively online league franchise, and I would to understand better the C meter interface.

I have situation where I get the meter and situation where I do not whne the runner tries to steal 2B.

Could someone actually explain why ?

I don't get how to gauge trades. I'm proposing a trade to the Yankees and the CPU says they're definitely interested in my offer. then they decline it when I offer it. help?

hmm you might be running into budget restrictions on your side of the deal. I also think there is a chance for team's to reject trades they say they are interested in, but I'm not sure about that.

How do you guys handle at bats? I mean, I can tell a fastball from a curve or slider, but when they throw fastball/changeup they look exactly the same no matter who throws them

What am I doing wrong with throws to cutoff man then to the base? They are sooo slow. I press L1 and the outfielder immedialtey throws it to the cutoff man and then I preload the base I want to throw it to... and the cutoff man catches and still hitches/stops before he actually throws the ball to the base

what am I doing wrong? This happens alllllll the time too with catchers on passed balls.. they'll slide to the ball and I have preloaded a throw but they always stop first then throw!

Allows runners to advanced easily and also score a thome EASILY!

When I feel like the changeup might be in the mix I make extra sure the pitch is up. I find I can get off the fastball and sniff out a changeup and its subtle movement when it's up high enough. If the pitcher locates a great low fastball I'll tip my cap and do my best to adjust late to foul it off.

How can I throw out runners better? I feel like it's absolute BS that I'm not able to throw out runners effectively even when I have a guy like Yadi Molina catching. This isn't against the CPU by the way, it's when I'm playing my brother or my cousin in person.

Any tips for pitch recognition? I'm struggling with offspeed pitches. I'm so far ahead of the ball it isn't even funny. I've been trying to sit on offspeed pitches and adjust for the fastball, but as I've stated I'm way ahead of offspeed pitches whether they're strikes or balls.
I've been experimenting with different cameras. I went from using The Show 15 as my main camera to experimenting with Strike Zone and Zoom. Also, I use directional hitting.

Any help with pitch recognition or any other hitting tips would be appreciated.
