    Re: Too many HR's?

Like I said before there are way too many home runs in the game with default sliders.

On All Star hitting Difficulty I hit 6 homeruns in one game with the Yankees. And that was like my 3rd game played.

Then I raised hitting to legend and I immediately hit a homerun with Aaron Judge after switching it from all star to legend.

I then decided to lower the Power Slider 4 clicks to the left and started a season with the Yankees.

I have 19 Team Homeruns in 20 games in my season. Way more realistic than default sliders.

Another thing.... since i was barely scoring anymore i decided to max out the solid hits slider for user only. And It plays a lot more realistic now.

      Re: Too many HR's?

I've offered my two cents in regard to the distance of the HRs in the Slider Forum under the '17 Moonshots thread

Personally, I'm playing using Armor & Sword & Marino's slider set, and I'm running my own 20-30 game test using a season with the Rockies (why not pick the most hitter friendly environment!) to look at the number of HRs hit in total for my team, the teams I faced and the league as a whole.

I likely don't have time for a 20 game test with both the default sliders and the A&S&M sliders, but I would be curious to analyze if the "Solid Contact" sliders are making a difference on the number of homeruns. What I heard Armor & Sword say last night is that the number of homeruns for those simming multiple season with his sliders is in line with expectations (I've not done any such sims myself, so I can only take his word).

As I said in the other thread. The moonshot HRs are due to the exit velocities and launch angles - specifically the exit velocities on HRs seem inflated (short story) and I don't think there's a slider for that.

I can live with the Moonshots (they are crazy fun to hit) so long as the HR totals are in line with expectations (slight more than 1+ per game). And so far I haven't played enough games to comment on that.

Last year it took me like 2 months to finally get a home run with Yadi and his mid 30's power rating. This year I did the first game on release night. All-Star difficulty, default sliders vs cpu. It was amazing though not gonna lie lol.The final score of this game was something like 6-2, all scored off of home runs

          Too many HR's?

I gave Ramone an FYI that this thread exists and asked him or one of his team to peek in on this thread on twitter.

Hopefully they have the time to look and possibly expand on it.

This is the largest issue. The majority of runs on default all star seem to come from primarily home runs. I don't care about distances, even though the moon shots hurt immersion, it's that I am disappointed at this point when I hit the long ball. It's not sim to bash multiple home runs with Alcides Escobar and Raul Mondesi.

I'd say too many HR's but in Allstar difficulty and below. HOF and above is fine..
NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.

Yeah, that's why my thread in Sliders was more focused on the distance - I don't have a problem with too many on HOF. It's just that the majority of the time I do hit them, they're bombs - and that's a sign of power or something related to it being too high.

Everything else in the game is balanced for me, that's why I want to be really careful with tweaking it.

                  Re: Too many HR's?

After playing a few test games i think i have a theory. Sliders have a huge effect this year, way more than previous years. Last year I hit with Analog Stride on HOF, Contact 7 and Power 5 and played a bunch of games with these setttings on MLB17 and was bashing the ball...3-5 HRs a game. So i lowered Contact to 4 and Power to 3 and now my games are very realistic...1 HR, maybe 2 a game and about 7 to 10 hits. Oh also Solid hits from 7 to 4.

Hall of Fame should be the new default, anything lower feels like Rookie in previous games.

I'd tend to agree. I can strike out the CPU double digits every game on all star w/o focusing. Even so, on HOF I've seen some moon shots from slap hitters. I'm thinking this is either going to need some clever slider gurus or a patch to remedy.

I think it's an unintended consequence of the new hitting physics, on top of the quirks. Once you start layering all that stuff on top of each other without proper time for testing and balance, this is what you get.

I think it might be different outcome in franchise I'm 3-2 with the Indians and just lost to Arizona 3-1 with 4 hits for the Indians and 8 for Arizona im seeing less homeruns and runs scored on a variety of hits and situations.

Which hitting interface are you using? I'm using zone hitting with MLB 16 camera for batting I'm just trying to make a connection so far in 5 franchise games I have a total of 5 homeruns and Encarnacion has 2 of them.
