Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
Geez, I step away from this thread for a couple days and it goes from constructive analysis and discussion to an absolute mess of bickering and arguing. [emoji14]

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
I am also getting the same problems using quick count.
Opposing SP getting pulled after 4-5 innings consistently even though they are doing well and half a lot of energy left.
Hopefully this gets fixed in the next patch as it is a huge problem.Comment

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
I'm not sure how this thread got so polemical. I read through the last several pages, but not through the whole thread, and I'm a bit confused.
I play QC only, as I don't have the time for full games. It seems pretty clear to me that SP are routinely yanked early in QC games--so early, in fact, that something seems "off." I play this game every year, and it seems like something is definitely up this year.
I've tried the hook slider adjustments, etc., but I'm still seeing earlier hooks for SP than I'm used to seeing in The Show, and I'm also seeing MRP get pressed into outings that are longer than what they should be throwing as a consequence for the SP getting pulled early.
Is it really debatable that this is happening consistently in QC games? I don't see why it has to become a partisan issue, so to speak. I love The Show and think it's the best sports game out there, but this definitely looks like an issue to me.
Are there folks playing QC games who are seeing CPU starters pitch an appropriate number of innings with any regularity?
Once OSFM 1.5 comes out, I'm going to start a franchise and gather more hard data, but the anecdotal results from 15 or so Play Now QC games suggests there's a real issue there. I've yet to see a starter pitch even 6 full innings, and I've faced a range of types of starters.Comment

The issue is that some people (myself included) are seeing this issue in regular games as well, while others seemingly aren't.
I don't play quick count, and I have yet to have a starter pitch more than 6 innings against me (about 15 games played). A couple times, I have had the CPU pull their starter after 6 innings when he was dominating me (0 or 1 run allowed, and under 80 pitches)Comment

I don't think ANYONE is disputing that this is happening in Quick Count games.

Given that they're marketing the various ways they've allowed users to play the game more quickly, I have to imagine that whatever's going on in QC games will get looked at and fixed.
It makes me sad to see The Show forums get a little salty, btw. This is such a good game from such a passionate development team. There are always imperfections in games, but this game is amazingly good. They do need to fix this one issue, though.Comment

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.

But, for those of us that are having these bad results, it is very very frustrating. Especially because this problem didn't occur in past games.
Granted, in my small sample size, I have had some blowouts where the CPU pulled the starter at the right time. But there have been too many instances where the starter was cruising along, dominating, and got pulled after 5 or 6 innings with a LOW pitch count, and half stamina.Comment

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
I'm officially in the QC is funky crowd. Just had a game against the O's and I was down 1-0 going into the 4th inning. I hit a solo homer to tie it up. Next inning, Ubaldo Jimenez gets pulled with 70 pitches.
He had given up 3 hits 1 run and 2 walks and was at 70 pitches. And got pulled after 4 innings.
Something is definitely wrong with QC, and I hope it gets fixed soon.Comment

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
Well I was seeing this problem big time with QC on. Turned it off and with slider settings I have seem to found the magic formula. These are both for user and cpu...
SP stamina at 6
RP stamina at 3
Manager Hook at 2
When simming games put stamina at zero to reduce high number of CG for SP throughout your season.
Try with these settings and I can promise you that you'll see good SP logic.
Now! As far as cpu leaving RP in too long...yes it will happen. I have been switching controller over to cpu side and manually managing their bullpen after first RP is called into the game.

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
Salsa, I took your setup into a non-QC Play Now game as PHI vs. NYM. I played Thor.
Thor threw 97 pitches over 6 complete innings and allowed 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 9. Seemed pretty legit.
One weird thing is that Thor left after the 6th, but when Salas came in, the game was still counting total pitches for Salas off of Thor's numbers. So Salas came in and was showing a 100+ pitch count during the 7th.
This makes me think there may be some kind of accounting thing going wrong behind the scenes that's affecting the use of SP and RP.
Have you seen that odd stat tracking thing? Again, this was a non-QC game.Comment

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
This is a major issue that they need to fix...
Just had Baltimore pull Jimenz with a no hitter going after he walked 2 guys in the 4th inning....
I cant play my Franchise when this is happening...
Amazing game everything else is perfect but this is game breaking currently...
I even have the Manager Hook slider at 2 unfortunately does nothingComment

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
I'm noticing that if we just move any long reliever back into the bottom of the regular bullpen section, we won't see those guys eating up 3, 4, 5 innings.
You'll have to check every day though, as on auto teams will adjust someone back into that role once they've had a need for it.
Only takes about 20 seconds to adjust each calendar day, and is a much better workaround than continually rotating someone there each month. Too much to keep track of!

Saw this reply in the bug reports today from Adam_SDS:
Hey guys, just wanted to give you a quick update. The programmer is aware of a potential problem with the pitcher substitution logic and we will investigate whether or not this is something that can be addressed in a future patch. Thanks
