Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)

I have a bigger issue with the CPU leaving their relievers in for absurd amounts of time. I've had a few blowouts so far in my franchise, and in every one the CPU will choose a reliever and leave them in for multiple innings, even if that reliever starts an inning with 0 energy left. Doesn't matter if they're cruising along, or if they're throwing 30 pitches an inning. It's less of an issue in the NL I've noticed since they'll be pinch hit for, but if there's a DH they'll leave them in forever if the game isn't close. There's something to be said for leaving a guy in to take his lumps in a blowout to try and preserve your pen, but when they continue running guys out there who have 0 energy left it becomes completely unrealistic.

I'm seeing this kind of bullpen management become more prevalent. Clearly The Show needs a lot of improvement here, but it's not as far fetched as some may thing. Only 15 pitchers topped 200 innings last year. Remarkable.

Its a lot different to pull a guy after 4 innings when he has given up 4 runs has that means he was not really pitching that good then then to pull a guy after 4 innings if he is pitching well and also about only 15 pitchers having 200 innings or more a lot of that is because to get to 200 innings you cant really miss more then like 1 maybe 2 starts and I would say there are a lot of pitchers that are going to miss a few starts and because of that will end up with like 180-190 or so innings instead of 200 or more.

        28 pitchers hit 200+ in 2015, 34 in 2014.

62 pitchers made 30 or more starts last year.

46 Pitchers made 31 or more starts last year.

The trend is clear. Clearly there's work to be done, but the results aren't as far out of whack as some may lead us to believe.

Oh ok while 62 pitchers with 30 or more starts means about 2 guys per team or about 40% of starting pitchers. I was thinking about starts because say a pitcher makes 30 starts and averages 7 innings per game that would get him to 210 but 7 innings is a lot that is like the best of the best that go a average of 7 and that was even before the last few years with things changing.

              hey bk,

what I do is quick manage each game and jump into the game in 4-6 inning when necessary and pitch and stats are great. I then sim the next day and continue the pattern. With stamina edits (raise SP - lower RP - leave Closer as is) - WOW - the stats are great !!!!

Could you upload your roster with pitch edits to the locker please.

Did you edit all pitchers except for reliefers ?

                Thanks

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)

Like armor mentioned earlier, I believe this is mainly from simmed games and guys playing Quick count games.

I was having the same problem in my franchise as I usually always play with QC on. While posting about the issue in one of the slider threads, others pointed out they weren't seeing the issue with games being played with "full counts". So I started playing all my games without QC and sure enough, that seemed to prevent the issue from occurring.

I've played about 12 games without QC and haven't noticed any odd situations where the manager took out the starter earlier than he should. They all pitch deep into the game unless they get in trouble.

While I have enjoyed slowing down and playing with full Counts, I do hope they fix this issue when playing with QC.

Quick manage seems to initiate the issue as well.

you can use two controllers. or, it is easier to have starter stamina at 3/reliever sta. - 0 and mh at 10. depending on score, jump into game in 3rd or 4th inning. qm till two outs if no-one on base or one out if runners on base and pitch to control decision for SP that has given up more earned-runs.

people may think this is a waste of time. as a baseball purist, I LOVE it. part OOTP - part MLB - and u can even do L vs L match-ups. looking thru pitching stats is a thing of beauty, knowing it all looks right.

you may message me as well if you got any questions.

But all of Toronto's made 30, IIRC.

Just a heads up: Ramone said in a reply on twitter that they're still testing this.

                              They haven't forgotten.

                                Geez i should hope not.
This should be the number 1 fix. In QC the pitcher getting pulled after 3,4 or 5 innings having given up 0 or 1 run and having thrown less than 70 pitches is a real problem.
