Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
In my franchise, the long reliever guys' IP stats are... interesting. Nick Tropeano is the Angels' LR. He leads the team with 80.2 IP... in 31 games. No starts. He's 7th in the league, just ahead of David Price, Masahiro Tanako, and Felix Hernandez.
The Padres have two LR. Jarred Cosart leads the team with 71.1 IP in 36 games. Wade LeBlanc leads the Pirate with 66.1 IP in 36 games.

2 of their 4 starters for the series got pulled after 3 innings--one while the game was tied and one while they were ahead 1-0. They had 1 starter go 4 innings and 1 go 5.
I'm going to get through 2 more series' to get to 10 games and see if the pattern holds.Comment

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
Played my first game...
SD pulls their starter with a 4-1 lead, 2 outs in the 4th inning. He wasn't having the best inning but the run scored off a K + passed ball.
Think I'm gonna wait until the first big patch...

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
I was encouraged by the data earlier in the thread showing that you could get higher per-start averages using QC over a long sample size, but my 4-game stand w/ SD showed a pattern of early hooks that made no contextual sense, and it showed that the LRP gets run out every single game and winds up pitching more innings than any starter on the staff.
There's no way that's working as intended by the team. There simply has to be something off. My 4-game set saw SD SP average 3.75 innings/start, and I only scored 4 or more runs in a game once in that stretch, so it's not like they were pulling starters only if they were getting shelled.
I hate to be down on the game, as it's the most beautiful and most immersive sports game I've played to date...except for this one, fairly significant issue.
Once QC came onto the scene, I have a hard time going back and playing full games now, especially with a family, but at least there's the option to do that and get more balanced games.Comment

Yea I can't give up QC's. I'm really hoping they look and address this. Honestly it makes the game unplayable for me at the moment. Could I eventually go to playing full counts? I mean I could but I really don't want to.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
Not saying there isn't a problem. There is one. But I am beginning to think it shows itself the most in QC games.
I had a really good MoM road game last night against Giants and the CPU handled the Giants starter Mad Bum as well as all the relievers who played in the 10 inning extra innings game perfectly. I managed to work the count throughout the game to get Mad Bum to throw a lot of pitches. But he was still Mad Bum pitching well keeping me to a low number of hits and low offensive production. He was taken out of the game after 7 innings with a 3-2 lead and having thrown 118 pitches. Very realistic scenario as far as I was concerned. The Giants used 2 relievers against me in the 8th, but it wasn't because I rocked them for a whole bunch of runs. I did get a couple of guys on base, but the CPU manager appeared to try and match lefty relievers with my lefty batters. Then in the top of the 9th with Melanson in the game trying to close out the win for the Giants, I managed to small-ball in the tying 3-3 run across the plate after a walk, a sacrifice bunt and a base hit. Then in the top of the 10th with a new Giants reliever in the game I hit a solo HR winning it 4-3. My Manager Hook Slider is set to a 3. So as I said, I thought the CPU manager handled their pitchers very realistically in this MoM non-QC full presentation game. But I also play a lot of CPU vs CPU QC Fast Play games for all the other 14 games across the league that need to be played each night at it is rare for the pitchers in these games to go past 4 or 5 innings.
I hope SDS fixes this issue. It definitely did not play like this last year.Comment

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
I'm kind of feeling like the test I'm running now will hold to this general pattern, and I'm also either going to have to wait for the big patch or simply play fewer games in my franchise and make them all non-QC games.

I like you really enjoy QC and at first this year was really annoyed it wasn't working right but now i'm rembering how much i enjoy fullDon't get me wrong if they get QC adjusted i will at least go back some if not all QC.

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
Read this thread and look at a few posts where I simmed. I simmed with regular stats and 99 stamina to see if it was a stamina issue.Comment

Not talking about the box scores. I meant end of season stats. I didn't think your sim with default stamina was that bad.Comment

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)
Which sim, both? It was yanking SP at 5, or before 5 when his team had 0 runs. It could be 1-0, 2-0. Wouldn't that effect year end stats??? Not trying to be argumentative just trying to figure what is tripping the AI to do this.
