can tell you now, if the CPU gives up 4 runs by the 5th innings, as soon as a runner gets on base in that 5th innings he will be guaranteed to be pulled, even if his pitch count is only at 50.

so people don't get to a 4-0 lead... however if the score is 4-4 the CPU will keep the starting pitcher in the game. so it seems it is hard coded that if you have a 4 run lead the CPU must panic and take him out.

but then a relief pitcher will stay out there after I hit back to back to back home runs. yep that's right, they take out a starter with a 4-0 lead but refuse to pull a RP who has given up 6 in 1 innings. ended up winning a game 15-3 because of this. Manager hook is 100% broken that's for sure. the only fix is the move controller after each at bat when it gets to the 5th innings and manage the damm CPU yourself

QC full counts doesn't make a different people so stop comparing them it happens with both.

How many times do you think a starter last year kept pitching if he was down by 4 in the 5th with runners on base? Maybe needs to be mildly tweaked but not a major issue. The relief situation you mentioned, the CPU logic is probably to eat innings in that situation. Once you're down by 6+, the game is treated as lost and the CPU doesn't want to burn the bullpen. That situation may need to be addressed if it happens, but it's not a big deal.

Yeah QC definitely spoiled this for me and I know this is nothing new to the thread, but the Pirates behind Glasnow are beating me 6-0 thru 7 innings.

Glasnow is pulled with a pitch count of sub 100... yes I should be ashamed.... even more so when you see that Glasnow is 6 outs away from a Perfect Game! Thats right, 7 innings of perfect pitching with 11Ks to boot.

Top of the 8th and its Nicasio who comes to the mound in relief... it breaks my heart and motivation to play on

Glasnow is pulled with a pitch count of sub 100... yes I should be ashamed.... even more so when you see that Glasnow is 6 outs away from a Perfect Game! Thats right, 7 innings of perfect pitching with 11Ks to boot.

Top of the 8th and its Nicasio who comes to the mound in relief... it breaks my heart and motivation to play on

Playing a Franchise game with full counts. I'm the Cubs, leading the Reds 2-0 in the top of the 4th.

Ben Zobrist leads off the inning with a double, my team's 3rd hit of the game. Reds manager pulls the starter.

The Reds starter's final line: 3 IP, 3 hits, 2 runs allowed, 5 Ks

This is with sliders at all default levels, on dynamic difficulty.

Ok i guess i will add my two cents. QC is unplayable. I have a season with the Braves. I have played a total of 20 games. In EVERY game the computer pitcher was pulled before the 6th inning. Most were pitching shutouts, had <2 runs, and less than 70 pitches. Then the same reliever would come in and pitch 3-4+ innings. So stupid and unrealistic. I know I am in the majority after reading the posts. Hopefully a fix is coming soon.

I don't believe it's QCs. I've seen that when the opposing team has scored 0 runs the CPU will pull the SP before or right at 5 innings. This also happens when you sim (take a look at other teams and look at what is going on in the first 5 innings......pitcher will have maybe given up a run, but if his team hasn't scored....he's usually pulled).

Something under the hood. Just my opinion.

I am barely playing this game due to this pitching issue. I know that there are many out there reading these forums and thinking that we should just play head to head/online, but some of us have no desire to "climb that tree"...

Me personally,
I will either continue playing 16 the Show, OOTP 18, or go to table top baseball gaming to satisfy my baseball obsession... until this mess is rectified!

Yes, there are extenuating circumstances that lead to this kind of bullpen management occasionally in real life (in this case, a starter with a high pitch count and recent arm trouble), the problem is that in the game, the sort of bullpen management is chronic.

There is no doubt that wacky things happen in baseball. When the wacky becomes the predictable, there's a problem.

Didnt he walk someone and hit someone in the 7th before being pulled?

In this game for me, Glasnow was pitching a Perfect Game thru 7 innings. Not a no-no, but a Perfect Game. He wasnt in trouble, he had a manageable pitch count if thats relevant and worse of all, he never came out to the mound for the 8th! Thats the issue for me, how many teams would stop a Perfect Game when they are 6-0 up, needing 6 outs for the win?

He didnt even get the chance in the 8th to mess it up, the AI just yanked him flat.

I know and understand things happen, but that to me is a bit silly and I know its my own fault for using the buggy QC to play the game, but it still spoils it.

2 things on a personal note:

1 - Ive never seen or pitched a Perfect Game on a baseball game, so this could have been a first.
2 - Hell yeah did I want to break it up with a bloop single in the 9th with 2 outs.... i may have even bunted

If it isn't fixed in the first patch I'm going to trade this game in as much as it pains me to say it. QC's made the game infinitely better for me and I'm not going back.

If you want to see something hilarious i just started to check the stats of the SP after 2 weeks in franchise and i saw that Betances just started his last game and went 5.1 IP giving up 2 runs and got the win....

You are correct. Just tried a game with QC turned off and still had the same issues. I was playing against the Nats and Strasburg got taken out in the 5th. Gave up 1 run, 3 hits, 5 k's on 71 pitchers. Unbelievable. I am done with the game until this is fixed.
