Ok I think I found a way to at least get the SP to the 7th inning. I increased stamina for every SP in the game. Only took about 10-15 mins. Then put manager hook to 0 and SP stamina to 9.

I just played a game against the Rangers and faced Cashner. He went 7 2/3 and gave up 4 runs, 5 Ks and had 89 pitches. I was Seattle and they brought in a lefty to face Cano as the score was 4-2 and i had a guy on 2nd. I hope this continues. I will try to play a few more games and see if this is the norm or if I just got lucky.

I did that. Maxed out stamina for all SPs to 99. Didn't work. Looked at box scores and they were still pulling pitchers (in simmed games) at 5 innings or before if their team had scored 0 runs. That seemed to be the key.....0 runs.

It did not pull an opposing pitcher if his team had scored runs and I did notice that the pitchers would pitch a little deeper with the added stamina.

I don't care much about simmed games but that is still a problem. I just played another game and had to switch teams in order to avoid an early hook in the 5th. Strasburg only had 67 pitches and gave up 0 runs and 1 hit. He ended up pitching 7 innings but would have been taken out if i didn't switch over. Still broken. Very disappointed.

My point is....I don't believe it's not the quick counts that are doing this. Simmed games show it. I played my offline games against the CPU (with quick counts) and the CPU did the same thing, pulled a pitcher where his team had scored 0 runs after 4.2 innings and brought in a relief pitcher who pitched the next 2.2 innings.

Food for thought: I'm prob one of the few on here that doesn't do 30-team control and I don't see the CPU SP stamina problem. Is there a possible correlation?

I don't think so...I don't do 30 team control, and I had a Reds starter pulled after giving up only 2 runs and 3 hits in 3 innings - he only threw like 50 pitches.

Gotcha. Ya you're right, I tried both with and without QC and problems still arise. I guess I'll just have to switch teams once I hear them mention relievers are getting warm. Definitely not ideal but looks like that's the only option until the issue is resolved.

Problem is......it just happens. I've heard no mention of pitchers warming up, but you know, that's a great point. Maybe they aren't (like usual). Maybe something just clicks and they bring in an RP. I'm going to play some games and see if the RPs actually are warming up before they bring them in.

I intended to purchase, but thankfully learned to "wait until the dust settles" with the "Big Three" (Madden / The Show / NBA2k) before pulling the trigger...

If they can TRULY fix it in it's entirety (sim stats / QC) I'll reconsider...

However, sounds like it could be more of a hard code, than tuning issue, so that might not be a quick / easy task...

                      Shall (wait) and see...

Does this only happen with quick counts? Or does if also happen with quick counts off?

After begrudgingly abandoning QC, I was on the "im not seeing it" side 20 games in...And now it happens 2 or 3 times a series.

For me this is the number one problem in my Franchise. Pitchers get pulled for no reason after just 5 innings even if they're pitching excellently. Really affects the Franchise because the CPU ends up using 4-5 pitchers a game when it really could get by using 1-2. Keep waiting for them to patch this and hoping they will soon. I use QC. And this is with my CPU Pitcher Stamina slider all the way up and the Manager Hook slider all the way down!

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)

Apologies if something like this has already been said, but thought I'd throw in my experience...

I do a mix of simming, playing entire games, etc. Never use Quick Counts, and don't use 30 team control.

I see the manager pulling guys too, but perhaps the most damning evidence is the IP numbers for the Long Relievers. I am in September in my franchise, and nearly every team's Long Reliever has like 90-120 innings pitched. Most of these guys don't have any, or very few, starts. The non-elite pitchers who have been starting all year (Nathan Karns, for example) have 140 innings in about 30 starts.

This shows pretty conclusively that starters are routinely getting pulled in the 5th and the same Long reliever is regularly throwing 2-3 innings, many times in back to back games.

                                I have adjusted sliders, FWIW.

It's almost like the AI is using playoff type logic. In the playoffs, you'd be very likely to see a team pull a starter at the first sign of trouble in the 5th inning. In the dog days of July, though, teams have a ragged bullpen and want their pitcher to go 100 pitches as often as possible.
