Let's not live in utopia though...it's a good thing that the game allows us to modify key elements to our own liking. Pitch speed is an example wherein some folks are fine on default meanwhile my old eyes must have it at zero.

Honestly The Show is the only sports game where I can have a solid game, a good simulation of the sport it represents without moving any sliders. Unlike Madden or NBA 2K, I can get in and see a better representation of the sport without a single adjustment. That said, in years past I did have to change a few things like the Pitch speed, or the Human Timing since like an idiot I played with Auto Motion Plus on with my TV, but now playing on a monitor with less of a delay, its been pretty solid for me.

The easiest way to verify it inside of the game (meaning, not the PS4 update history from the dashboard which is probably the easiest way overall) is to run a CPU vs CPU game and see if the MPH displays. If it does, your game is updated. If not, you're still on 1.03 .

Played a CPU vs CPU game and the MPH displayed. So I must be on 1.04. Thanks.

Finally was able to finish my second game post patch, and yes I know it's a small sample size but throwing it out there regardless. My offense has become anemic since the patch, we went from one of the better offenses stat wise as well as ratings wise (Seattle) to suddenly unable to hit or get the ball out of the infield a majority of the time. My average has dropped 9 points in 2 games thanks to hitting 0.173 in those 2 games against Miami of all teams. In the last game I grounded out 19 times and hit into 3 DP's so 22 of my 30 outs (game went 10 innings) were via the ground out, 2 pop-up's and 2 line drive outs hit right at an infielder so 26 of my 30 outs never left the infield. Throw in the still present wild pitch issue (5 in 2 games post patch) and the game just isn't nearly as enjoyable post patch as it was prior. Hopefully they fix these issues and don't cause any others to crop up, prior to the patch I was hoping they would merely cut down on HR's being hit and clean up the wild pitch issue and instead I've got a pathetic offense and the wild pitch issue remains.

I experienced a freeze glitch at first base in a online game. My opponent kept quick throwing to first after ball in the dirt. It caused the game to freeze up. I got credited with the win but to go deep into a game and have to experience these freezes is demoralizing.

Has anyone started a new franchise after the patch and tested the SP problem? I started a Cardinals franchise, and the Cubs kept Arrieta in deep into the game, I think the 8th inning. He had almost 100 pitches, I think I got 6 or 7 hits off him but didn't score. Had a couple of hits late in the game, one being a leadoff double and he still wasn't pulled. This was on default sliders, All-Star level with QC on. Maybe you do need to start a new franchise? Or maybe it just happened that one game, not sure yet as I haven't played another game.

you didn't score... that's the reason right there they kept him in... if you score 4 or more runs within the first 4 innings the CPU hooks the starter in the 5th, but you have to be leading 4-0 it can't be 4-4 or the CPU thinks its a close game so usees the logic of 'I must keep the starter in then' regardless of pitch counts.

have not played enough games post patch to see if it's even fixed. I don't play QC either but the problem was with both modes originally anyway.

I wanna see if someone can go up 4-0 and see if the pitcher gets hooked in the 5th.

I learned something tonight, I take feedback from these forums with a grain of salt. I read the opinions of the patch while I was at work and it really seemed like a complete disaster. I download it and play and I had a completely different experience. Bat sounds: I see no difference, sounds fine to me. Power: significantly turned down seems much more balanced. Wild pitches: much much better, I've pitched the same way before the patch and WP issue appears solved. I can see and feel a significant difference in the game post the patch. Not sure why so much doom and gloom, seems very odd. I can say 1 thing, I feel like I look at this game objectively and this patch was all I needed. I'm good to go.

The only issue I have with the patch is the weird sound of the ball off the bat. Which has been addressed as it is going to be fixed in the next patch. I could live with it so it's not a deal breaker for me.

Interestingly enough the Stars & Stripes hats were patched in but not the rest of the Stars & Stripes uniforms. I wonder if this will be included in the next patch?

lol. Yes, there is definitely a 'chicken little' phenomenon on these boards which can self-amplify as a bunch of people with a similar mindset start agreeing with one another. I'm sure a lot of the opinions expressed here have some shred of factual basis at least, but sometimes people complain for no other reason than to complain. It's just how people are wired.

You know I agree with most of those sentiments.

But the ball off the bat is clearly off and off badly and was already acknowledged by SDS.

So let's not sit here and make pretend it is our imagination that this happened and is a true bug and by product of this patch.

The entire feel of hitting has been changed due to this audio error, bug or whatever you want to call it.

But it clearly was changed and unintentionally. Every hit sounds and feels like the bat is cracked.

You can't feel if it was weak contact, or if you grooved a ball off the sweet spot off the bat like you could with the game out of the box.


For lack of a better term, it's hideous and a massive wart on an otherwise amazing game.

Thank goodness they are fixing it. Because it is most certainly off.

I have played this game non stop since release and my very first comment on my stream post patch was about this and it came right after the moment I made contact with the ball.

I was like "uh oh Houston we have a problem"

Anyway let's not minimize a serious flaw.

Much like the QC's SP hook issue....this is something tangible and factual. It changed and not for the better and nor was it intended.

It was a bug created from update 1.04.

I just played a QC counts game where it was MadBum vs Tanaka. Final score ended up being 2-1. Tanaka line was 6.1 3 hits 2 runs 3 bb 4 k's on 90 pitches. He was taken out in the 7th with one out. The minute a runner got to 2nd he was taken out. MadBum went 6.0 3 hits 0 runs 3 bb 12 k's. He gave up a lead off double with 85 pitches and was taken out. Seems to me that if your pitchers are in a close game in the 6th inning or later and they give up a runner to 2b, they get the hook. Still, I think this is fairly realistic with the pitch counts they had.

Actually this is NOT realistic. IRL the manager's give their SP the chance to get themselves out of innings. 90 and 85 pitches is nothing for those two guys.

Irl they would've at the very least got to face one more batter. IF they drove in a run then okay, MAYBE they might yank him, but irl they are goimg to be given the opportunity to get out of the inning.

QC or not this is an issue, even with manager hook at zero like I have.

WP is fixed guys! I've seen strikeouts and swings and misses on balls in the dirt wherr normally the ball gets away. Catcher actually caught the ball!

Also, saw the catcher block a swing a miss strike two at a ball in the dirt with a runner on 1st, no advance. Catcher blocking has been fixed. We still want to see occasional WP so if you see one or two a game I'd say that's very normal.

Hitting seems to have been tweaked for the worse. Seeing way more groundballs and weak hits now. I'm seeing more double plays than ever as well on both sides.

I was one hit by the White Sox in my Indians franchise smh...I know it can happen but I find ot difficult to believe my offense went to crap magically after being red hot.

And not just one game...now I'm in exibition game testing with human and cpu contact at 7 to see if I can get some offense generated. Not going back to my franchise until another patch most likely

And lets not disregard others opinions. Some folks are not bothered by the sound of the ball of the bat. Whether intentional or not, it really doesn't matter. It bothers you and others. But it also does not bother others. So how about we let everybody have their own opinions, instead of just trying to steam roll anybody with a different thought on a situation.

I had two WPs in the first inning of my first post patch game, but I did have a play later where I was able to throw a guy out at second after blocking the ball in the first. So I don't know if it totally fixed, but it's definitely better.
