I agree it's almost certainly working "as intended," I just think that it's poor implementation. The ball's ALWAYS in the pulse, right? -- how big the pulse is is the question -- but if I nail it (good timing, small circle) it's still almost certain that the pitch will be ON THE OUTSIDE EDGE of the circle. That's garbage. I'm pitching with good pitchers and providing good input, the pitches should go where intended far more often than they do. On the contrary, meter pitching means that if you nail a perfect release it pretty much overrides attributes. Seems there's no real middle ground...
