I kinda wanna use this online and find out what will happen. I use zone, but use this when playing offline. The work you put into this is amazing.

I hate it personally. I get why some people would want it but for me it seems to serve no purpose other then to mess up my sight of the ball.

I’m glad you said that because that’s how I felt about it, but if you had said there was some benefit I would have persevered with it.

I will play devils advocate for a minute and say I’ve moved back to camera shift this year. Like WW mentioned previously, I noticed how good just early timing works. I find camera shift helps me with my pull hitters in lefty/lefty or righty/righty match ups get around for early timing. Most of my homeruns are coming this way. Anyway each to their own and I may move back to fixed camera at some stage.

I agree with what Warmwind said on previous page. Especially the portion about hitter tendencies and swing animation. If I have Shaw or Thames at the plate I'm going straight pull and sitting on something in their hot zones until 2 strikes, then I go back to straight normal. Guys like Braun or Santana I'm going straight normal and looking middle out to drive it to right center. I've hit bombs with Braun to left and also hit liners into the oppo gap. I've crushed some huge bombs with Shaw and Thames. It's all about knowing situation, personnel, and utilizing the controls. Much more complicated than hitting a button if you want the best results

After posting that I havent had two much success using the push swing, I have hit 2 HRs.

Example of how my approach has changed. In this vid, McCann has good power, low contact, and decent vision against RHP. My thinking was his power and vision is high enough, so a buff to contact and the ball will get hit hard somewhere. The meatball helped also lol.

When you choose to influence the swing is it a 'scale' of influence based on how far you move the 'L' stick in that direction? Or can you just move the stick to the limit in any of the directions?

No scale man picking a direction is just picking a direction.

Like highcmppct said you just pick a direction. Also you might want to give the OP a read, Directional is far less about choosing where the ball goes and more about giving various buffs and debuffs. Timing is what determines where the ball goes.

                        It's a little of both.

Timing is always a factor, but the direction you chose is a factor as well.

Direction also influences batted ball type/trajectory.

So it does a lot of things, imo.

If it's anything like past games, the hitter's tendency (pull, push) is the way he tends to hit the ball the hardest and is his ideal timing (JE for Pull, JL for Push)

                        Lots of factors.

I might be wrong but I feel like they start throwing more out of the zone to try and make you chase. Just like you, I’m noticing more walks.I get around 1-4 walks a game now. I use to always play the difficulty below all star in previous years and I never walked because it seemed like there was more pitches in the strike zone so you wouldn’t get too deep into counts.

I like using directional, I really do but lately I've had the hardest time getting hits. I'm using the Phillies and overall they have guys who can get really good contact but lately it's been a struggle. Now I'm not one of those guys who blames patches made to the game on everything that may or may not go wrong but I've noticed the pitch speeds with all types of pitches are all very slow. Change up comes at me just as fast as a fast ball. I had my timing down pretty much on anything in the low to mid 90s but now it says I'm early on everything. Both change ups and fastballs. My timing doesn't feel early but the feedback always says I am. So I've been switching back between zone and directional. I hit on hall of fame but I started noticing the issues on all star as well. I'll keep chugging along until I can get my groove back but I would hate to have to scrap directional altogether.

Not wrong at all. One of the great benefits of handling a higher level is the more realistic zone frequency.

I think everyone should play All-Star minimum and just adjust sliders if the rest of the level is difficult/not to taste.

Try raising pitch speed? Maybe raise your fastball pitch speed up if you're happy with how the offspeed looks to you.

I know the feeling, though. I'm at 10/10 and sometimes I'm still early on hard fastballs. Really wish there was a 15 setting!

Not really one for adjusting sliders at all but I may have to consider it if my lack of hitting contiunes.
