Yes, at higher levels pitchers throw more carefully. You get a lot of meatballs at veteran and below.

I hear you. At least pitch speed is easier to fool around with.

Timing is always a factor, but the direction you chose is a factor as well.

Direction also influences batted ball type/trajectory.

So it does a lot of things, imo.

If it's anything like past games, the hitter's tendency (pull, push) is the way he tends to hit the ball the hardest and is his ideal timing (JE for Pull, JL for Push)

        Lots of factors.
All of this is in line with the results I've seen from playtesting. From what I've seen though, the influence on trajectory is minor, and remember you are also opening up the timing window, so of course you are going to see a few more balls pulled foul.

I don't talk about the trajectory influence because people tend to get stuck on it, when in fact it shouldn't be worth your consideration in most at bats, the buffs/debuffs are more important most of the time.

That being said, keep in mind I'm an AL player. I'm sure that trajectory control is a little more important in the NL, even if it is minor.

You hold it all the way through your swing.

Press the stick the direction you are wanting to influence the swing before the pitch and hold it all the way through the swing

                  Re: Directional Hitting Guide

Ok, I've got enough data to change something I said in the op. Push and Pull swings do not open up the timing window in their respective directions. What they do is increase the odds of getting good contact results off of an early swing (for pull) or a late swing (for push). Remember, that's just good contact results (IE a hard hit ball), not good overall results (IE a hit).

Using the down influence does open up the timing window. Using the up influence closes it.

Using no influence increases the odds that good timing will result in good contact, but comes with greater punishments for mistimed swings and swings at balls out of the zone.

All of the buffs and debuffs are still the same.

In the end push and pull swings do effectively open up the timing window, but they don't in the literal sense.

                    Re: Directional Hitting Guide

oh something else: A pull hitter has their timing window naturally pulled a little early, and a push hitter a little late.

If I am not getting a lot of solid contact hits should I check out pitch speeds or solid hits slider?

Although it varies from person to person, pitch speed usually effects strikeouts vs walks, and the ability to get good timing.

Solid hits will effect the ratio of good contact results on good timing.

So really it's a question based on whether you think the problem is your ability to track the ball and have good inputs, or if you feel like you have a lot of good inputs and it's the RNG of the CPU just not netting you the results you feel you should get.

Personally, I'm currently playing HoF with solid hits at 7. You can check out my sliders if you like, they are both here: https://forums.operationsports.com/f...t-sliders.html

                        and in the vault.

Where do you go to find if a player is a push or pull hitter his year? I checked the player card but I can’t find it.

You can pause the game and go over to the pitcher batter matchup and it will show you

What difficulty & sliders are you playing with this year TheWarmWind? Also what would you recommend for a realistic RTTS settings?

                                Cheers.
