No mention of toning down homeruns.

Through my last 10 games I have hit 24 homeruns. (Picture Proof.) DEFAULT SLIDERS

I bet you play on Zone hitting don't you

I am up to 104 games played in my season and i can tell you for sure that there are too many Homeruns in this game.

If the Scea Roster makers would re-evaluate the power ratings for all the overrated homerun hitters in the game. It would make this game so much more realistic.

Toning down the homerun slider and the power ratings individually would do so much.

Only remaining problem that I can see is that the bullpen logic is still a little shady, leaving a reliever who's getting some treatment in for too long, but other than that it's spot on now.

Bat sounds fixed is great as well, didn't think it'd be hard to fix as they had it right before. Much more satisfying now though

Try pushing hook up to 6 or 7 when relievers come in. You'll see a lot more matchups out of the bullpen. i.e. Lefty vs Lefty

          What's up Oscar.

So I had that happen for the very first time to me yesterday. This in over 100 hours of gametime.

          So I dug deeper.

The opposing team pulled their closer after 23 pitches thrown and he also got 2 outs. They brought in another RP to record the final out...which he did BTW so it worked out.

I dug deeper though and saw their closer had been used 2 consecutive days and was low energy on his third straight calendar day. It is quite possible his stamina was spent.

Check out the previous games by that closer prior to when this happens to see if it is indeed a stamina issue with the closer being over used.

But it happened once to me in over 60 plus franchise games......I was Mmmmmmm. So it is not an incessant logic issue. I think it is a stamina issue.

This is with manager hook at 5 and reliever stamina at 3.

No I don't play on Zone hitting. I play directional.

I think SCEA should definitely consider putting down the homerun slider to 3. (Or what ever they use to tone down homeruns.)

And like i have already repeatedly said tone down power ratings for guys like Brett Gardner, Jacoby Ellsbury, Ichiro, Dee Gordon. Etc.

There is a reason why the O.S.F.M HYBRID ROSTERS are so popular every year and it's because they go in an re-evaluate all the ratings.

Though Scea's ratings aren't bad, they are actually pretty good. I am just saying the Power ratings on speedsters need to be toned down by a lot.

Honestly, I really don't want to be changing the sliders mid game every single game. Then I'd have to put the sliders back down again when they bring the closer in as they already are far too quick to pull them, then between games to put it back where it should be for a starter. It's just a hassle that I don't need and really shouldn't have to be doing.(why they don't have separate hook sliders for starters and relievers, I truly don't know)

Constantly fiddling with sliders is obviously a work around, but I would be a hell of a lot better if they just got it right.

Well it was the third game in the series and he hadn't been used in the first two, so I don't think tiredness should really have been in an issue. His stamina was still fine (just over half full after pitching maybe 20 pitches).

The issue seemed to be that he gave up a two out walk so I had men on 1st and 2nd with two out when trailing by three. The tying run came to the plate so they pulled the closer for different reliever, not even a lefty/lefty matchup either. (Pulled Kimbrel for Carson Smith to face Logan Morrison)

I've seen it probably a handful of times and it's almost always seemed to be the result of the tying run coming to the plate

What difficulty are you playing on? I have been playing on HOF with a slider set w/power set anywhere between 0-3 and have had good results. I play with Zone w/pci off. I'm almost into August in my franchise and the totals around the league and on my team are realistic.

I know its aggravating to not get realistic HR totals on default sliders BUT adjusting difficulty and sliders might be your best bet to decrease the frequency. Just a suggestion at trying to remedy your issue and help you enjoy the game. Good luck.

Not specific to this patch, but is anyone else having an issue with the computer not putting anyone on the 60 day DL in franchise? I'm 2 months in and went to check to see if any teams might need cover and there isn't a single guy on it. Plenty of guys who should be on it (Lorenzo Cain out for 5-6 months, but only on the 10 day DL for example)

Is this just in my franchise?

Oh boy. They need to look at this then.

I think as a temporary fix I will make sure when a closer is inserted I will crank down the hook slider to 0 and if he blows the save....I will get it right back to default after he does.

                        See if that works.

But Looks like a logic bug based on your experience.

I play on Hall of Fame Pitching and Veteran Batting. Veteran Batting because when I was playing on All Star I was only scoring off of homeruns. With Veteran Batting i score a bit more off of hits alone. Though still not enough runs off of hits alone on Veteran. But regardless of the hitting difficulty (Veteran or Allstar) I hit a ton of homeruns.

I tested the power slider at 1 in the first 2 months of my season through about 30 to 40 games.
I was averaging 0.8 Homeruns per game.

Then I decided to put it up to 3 and it seemed to be the sweet spot. Over ten games i was averaging 1.1 homeruns. But I was still hitting Homeruns with Brett Gardner.

Then when Patch 1.04 came in and I got excited and put all sliders back to default because I thought homeruns had been toned down. Over the course of 10 games I hit 24 homeruns.

                            That is a big no-no.

They need to tone down the homerun slider to 3.

I have played 104 games. If 104 games is not enough testing to see there is a homerun issue. Then I don't know what is.

I say nope. I have seen plenty of blocked dirt balls and the CPU staying put and I have seen them also take off as well on some and the animation to get them out is the issue.

It is not one extreme which is what you are stating as a fact. It simply is not a fact when I can say I have seen dirt balls not resulting in the CPU taking off.

The real core issue is the catcher animation after he picks the ball up. He is too relaxed and has no urgency to throw the runner out. He does that mitt tap as well which also takes up precious time. And the throws are all lazy throws.

The issue is really the catcher animation once they pick up the ball. And I hope they can fix it.

But again....it is not a fact that they advance on every single dirt ball. I have seen the catcher smother a dirt balls right in front of them and the CPU stood pat. Seen plenty of that.

Also have seen a decent number of the other. So not disagreeing it needs to be tuned.

The ones I have seen the CPU take off.....they should be taking off. But the catcher does not throw it with force and urgency. That is the problem.
I renewed my MLB.TV subscription this year and have watched every real world Rockies game played to date this calendar year as well as watched a bunch of other real world games whenever time permits. In the real world there are tons and tons of balls in the dirt. In fact the frequency of the balls in the dirt in this game as well as in the real world are pretty close to each other. The difference is, in at least 80% of the time in this game, the base runners run and then we deal with the issues where the catcher animations take their time throwing the ball to the bag. However in the real world games, the number of times the base runner takes off is radically reduced. I don't know what the statistical average is, but it appears to be only about 20% of the time will the base runner take off in the real world, unlike the 80% or so that it does in this game.

Because passed balls and wild pitches happen in real world games, I want them to happen in our MLB The Show games. SDS just needs to tone down how often the base runners take off.

I don't know what the statistical average is, but it appears to be only about 20% of the time will the base runner take off unlike the 80% or so that it does in this game.

Because passed balls and wild pitches happen in real world games, I want them to happen in our MLB The Show games. SDS just needs to tone down how often the base runners take off.
You said it all there. That's all they need to do. The dropped balls and runners advancing is more of a User vs Cpu issue. Not a User vs User issue.
