Re: MLB the Show 18 Wishlist: PLUS Things they should PATCH for MLB 17

A couple more things I thought of:

Custom Franchise schedules: Make them build-able, savable and shareable like rosters. During an off season or when starting a new franchise we can be asked if we want to use the default schedule, a randomly generated schedule or a custom pre-built one loaded from a save.

Would be even cooler if this feature could be used to make shorter seasons as well, so those that find the full schedule intimidating have options.

In-game mechanic for switching player positions, adding pitches, etc: I'd also like to see a system for stretching guys out into starters or switching them into bullpen roles.

Option to turn morale off: I don't hate the idea, just not a fan of the implementation, nor can I think of a way to implement it that would be balanced.

Make this a banner year for Franchise: 16 was a banner year for DD. 17 brought significant changes and additions to RttS. Could we maybe, possibly have more than one programmer on Franchise this year? Please? Just for this year. I swear I'll be good.

Banner year for Franchise mode? My GOD, I would cry tears of joy.

As far as morale goes, I agree that a simple on/off toggle should be available, but I think a few tweaks would go a long way. For example, guys still under club control (RNW, not arbitration eligible) should NOT get angry over $. More importantly, player role: star should be eliminated (it only applies to batting order: 1, 3, or 4 -- does Kris Bryant get angry that he's batting in the 2 hole?), and instead of platoon there should be an option like 1/2/3 games per week, etc. Platoon also screws a guy like Schwarbs who is an everyday guy but has a classic platoon split (according to SDS), so the cpu plays him only against righties. So I guess I'd vote for eliminating platoon and star, maybe even depth, and just go "everyday player" and "25 man roster." It's not really a problem for pitchers, I think.

Overall Franchise UI upgrade and make the offseason more engaging!

I would think relegating starters to the bullpen would be the easiest to accomplish. the less innings you use a pitcher, his stamina should drop. heck, this might even already be how it is.
I'm kind of embarrassed to say I've never even paid attention to that. and I demote starters to the 'pen like theres no tomorrow.

A broadcast generic online camera. I just want a good broadcast camera that is not too zoomed in and not too zoomed out with a view of the 2nd basemen runner. I don't like the regular broadcast camera because it switches based on home stadium playing in.

              My wishlist

-More consistent frame rates. No drop outs during cut scenes (It looks terrible compared to other sports games)

-Better looking hair (Still seems off texture-wise)

-More options as others have said on this forum somewhere (Unbuttoned shirts, loose chains, doo-rags under hats, custom color palette, flip-up sunglasses)

              -More catcher animations for defense

-SITUATIONAL Commentary deep into a game for pinch hit situations, pitching changes, who's warming up (Long overdue)

-Better looking collisions with walls. You still notice a lot of invisible walls appearing on outfield catches especially along the foul lines.

              -Better looking camera views

-News stories or feeds in Franchise Mode keeping up with around the league or social media stories

              -New PA Announcer

-Signature routines or animations for specific players. Ex: Jose Reyes pumped up after a clutch 2 out triple

-Better sounds for balls hitting bat, balls hitting catchers mitts

                Wishlist is short:

Put out a game that is de-bugged. Add nothing until same is done, or it's another year that will start with the overused "broken" term.

The new "round bat hitting a round ball" physics are good. I am not going to complain about them, except I am going to complain about them. Until we start seeing batters hitting foul balls into their feet, we know what we are seeing in this game regarding contact with the ball at the plate is still not an accurate representation of a round bat hitting a round ball.

I think it's a pretty safe bet we'll see expanded implementation next year, just like we see the expanded implementation of the human ik in the fielding this year.

I mean, I can't guarantee it, but if SDS watches the forums I'm sure they know how much we love the new ball physics, and want moar. Moar I say!

Pretty simple for me. Runs and hits in manage mode are far too low and 95% of balls hit down the foul lines which used to land fair for hits now curve foul.

Fix that and if you aren't going to fix it let me know so I can discontinue my franchise.

More throwing hand side lateral movement for fastballs, sinkers, changeups, splitters and screwballs.

Have you seen a Rick Porcello two seamer? It runs a foot.

Screwballs in this game even go straight down. They are basically 12-6 curveballs. I thought it was, maybe, the animation I was using, so I switched to Carl Hubbell's animation, and it still went straight down. This seems even worse than it has been in previous years.

Lazy infielders still hold on to the ball too long even after queuing up a throw. Had a runner go 2nd to home on an easy ground out, even though i had queued the throw as he was touching 3rd.

Up the commentary game, talk about situational stuff like how does this pitcher pitch when in RISP or how does this batter bat in the same situation. If a player is taking the day off, talk about WAR. The show is still stuck in the rudimentary surface phase of commentary after a decade, they still write commentary for basic stats. They really need to dig deeper and talk about analytics and how this team really uses them to set their line-up.

Just dig deeper with the commentary and you will have a wide variety of situational not as repetitive commentary.

                              1. Rainouts/Rain Delays/Doubleheaders - adds a realm of realism to franchise modes and could affect stamina over the period of a few days.

                              2. Durability Attribute - I think someone mentioned this, but split this into two seperate catagories 'injury risk' and 'fatiuge'. Again, makes managing the game a bit more tricky.

                              3. Custom Stadiums/Relocation - See NBA 2K17. You guys have the firepower

                              4. Control Players After 3rd Out - Would be cool to be able to toss a ball into the stands after catching a pop fly or chuck it over the dugout to a fan. Dribble it back to the pitchers mound after a ground out. Would feel AWESOME to do this.

                              5. Catcher Talk to the Pitcher - Instead of a mound visit, the catcher could go and calm down the pitcher instead of the PC.

Fix velocities for created players. They should be static like they are for preexisting players. It's not hard and it's been broken for over 5 years.
