I think hitting has never been better. Plenty of power, great hit variety, and every game feels different. I think SCEA really has this nailed down.

Hoping for no more patches that will screw up what is now a perfect balance for hitting.

I think the hitting is much better. I use dynamic difficulty (sensitivity 2-3) at veteran+ and have 5 for contact solid hits and 6 for power.

All you guys who are struggling, try Power at 7 (+2) and let me know what you think. It's working well for me so far. I'm now hitting a realistic number of HRs so far in my testing, as well as a balanced variety of other hits.

To those struggling since Patch 1.09 , I may be crazy but I was using the same sliders I had used all season which were perfect for me until the patch. Then it took a week to see that suddenly I couldn't hit a ball deeper than a medium fly out to center field, I thought they broke hitting till I finally made a new slider file with the same sliders and everything went back to normal. Maybe the patch effected some people's files and not others some how ??? I know that sounds crazy but could explain why some have had problems and others see no problems ?????

I'm having a lot of games where I get anywhere from 6-9 hits but maybe get two runs across.

Most of my runs come off of solo homers.

Too small of a sample size for me right now, but I rarely get to bat with runners in scoring position, but when I do I am dreadful. As of now I would say the problem is with me not the game though.

after playing again I see its not the game its me. I just need to be more patience. I thought about using sliders but idk. I know armor and tnk has great sliders for this game. I just don't know if I need that yet. playing on the dynamic difficulty really does exploit how sucky I am at hitting and how awesome I am on pitching lol.

The feel of hitting has changed for me since patch 1.08 and 1.09. At release, hitting felt new, fresh, and different. The timing of my swing and the net result of my timing felt synced and connected. Now hitting for me feels the same as 16 and 15. That's not necessarily a bad thing but I was really enjoying a new feel. It was much more rewarding for me. Now it feels stale and disconnected. I'm happy others are finding it better then ever but I'm not feeling it. I wish they would lay out what they exactly tweaked with hitting with the release of patch 1.09. If we had a definitive answer we could all adjust sliders to our liking in a more educated fashion rather the. Just guessing.

I was having the power problems until I ran into the Angels and Padres pitching staff awful H9 attributes, And now I can get 8-12 hits against most pitchers except the aces. I think I did not give the patch enough time. By that I mean I did not let my game evolve into the patch. With patience you can be a very good power hitter. HOF default sliders, zone hitting,classic pitching. But if the power
continue to be an issue add 1 to power and solid hit. And when your power return go back to normal immediately.

Just played what may be the most ridiculous game I have ever been in....
23 innings....21 hits....one double....in Cincy....which I picked so i could hit some homers....lol

Something is very inconsistent with the hitting. I played two games in Boston before it and everything was fine. I don't really get what the deal is.

If you played 2 games before and everything was fine how is that not just baseball being baseball? 1 bad game and something is wrong?

The game wasn't playing right. It wasn't me. I couldn't catch up to 88 mph fastballs even if I swung as soon as the pitcher let the ball go. It was pretty much unplayable. i should have just quit the game, but, I wanted to see how long it would last.

Next game was the same. 6 hits, 1 double.

Game after that it cleared up and i was able actually get ahead of some fastballs. I don't know if it is lag or if the game is chugging on my ps4.

Went through 2 hours last night of the same thing. It is just impossible to keep a fastball fair. Then it clears up and I can pull them again with out much effort.

I've experienced some inconsistency in hitting as well. I've started two different franchises since patch 1.09 (default sliders) and I feel like I'm swinging a wet noodle. Played two games with a different franchise I had going prior to patch 1.09 (default sliders) and hitting was awesome. Hitting felt like it did pre-patch 1.09. I have no idea if its coincidence or if it will change but I love it right now. I'll be playing with the later franchise for sure.

After pretty much playing default HOF hitting for the last 8 years, finally decided to drop it down to default all star since the last couple of patches have given me some hitting issues, and I couldn't be happier with how hitting is playing again. It almost feels like what default HOF has felt like for so long.

Would strongly recommend default all star if you're having issues on the harder difficulties. At this point I doubt I'll be downloading any more patches as I'm pretty much strictly an offline player.

I am going to get new controllers and see if that makes any difference. These aren't very old, but, maybe they aren't working right.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe the first game or 2 in a stadium is rough and it clears up after a couple games???

It is seriously like a switch. I am only playing on veteran.

At first I thought it was me. First game against the Braves and every pitcher was throwing 95 mph plus. Then I got to Bartolo Colon and I still couldn't keep the balls fair. Then I got Jaimie Garcia....still couldn't hit a ball fair. Then they brought in a reliever....and i pulled a ball so bad I thought it must have been a crazy slow change up.....nope 97 mph fastball. It was like switch flipped and everything was working as intended.

It has happened two nights in a row in the middle of the night....around 2 am to 4 am or so. Doesn't seem like it should be a traffic issue.
