Hey guys, posting this here because I know all that are passionate about uniforms and their accuracy will see this.

We're going to ask that you please try and refrain from posting about uniform colors and details in other threads and try and keep them in this one.

We've see a few threads derailed with discussion about color accuracy which is taking away from other conversation in that thread.


Really asking this as a favor so those that aren't as concerned about uniform accuracy can go through the threads on the streams and new info without having to go through discussion about just uniforms.

Let me know if you have concerns with this or if you don't think this is a reasonable ask. I just think centering that conversation in one thread would be more beneficial for everyone (including developers) all around.



STRONG EDIT: I want to be clear in my ask in that I am in no way suggesting that any of the discussion is wrong or inappropriate in any fashion. I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to segregate uniform discussion to one thread because I don't deem it important (not true). I just want to clean up some of the threads a bit and there is storm coming soon so I'm just trying to get ahead of it.

As long as the topic doesn't get "covered up" so that it can hopefully, eventually be fixed I'm all for tidying the threads up.

I'd hate for us to become annoying with this either.

I'm with you, I don't want it covered up at all. If anything Woodweaver has shown that he is willing to engage in conversation at times when he's able to which is always a plus.

I think having a centralized thread discussing uniforms can be mutually beneficial.

Yeah it definitely looks pretty good color wise. I still think it could be a bit brighter, though. Considering it appears to be a sunny day game, it still feels a little dark, but that might just be the shadow in that instance.

The red of the Angels uni still looks way too washed out though.

Definitely think they are looking better than last year in some shots. A glimmer of hope maybe? Still, it would seem weird if they fixed some reds but not others. Like the Nats seem improved but the Jays red is still atrocious.

Anyone have a time stamp of when they mentioned the ‘98 Padres unis? I don’t think they showed them and I must’ve missed them mention it.

They mentioned them but didn't show them. Ramone was scrolling through a few of them while the other dev was reading off the list of new unis. They weren't making a point to show every one of them and a few weren't shown.

I don't know what it would take on the actual development side, but I still think we have a ways to go based on what we've seen.

Really that is such an improvement and is how it should look!

I would love to know why the sky, grass,dirt and uniforms are not able to look like that in the game?

Perhaps a PS4 Limitation?

I know it's not as easy as that for the devs to fix but hopefully they see that post and at least use it as a point of reference. Even if the red isn't 100% perfect, just getting it close to that hue would please everyone concerned over this issue.

I can adjust things to my desire for only a couple of particular shots, I don't have to work within the confines of making sure that every condition is satisfied by said color scheme. I wouldn't know one lick about rendering either. Even if I did and addressed this, I would be done with my work there and would thereby tender my resignation.

But thanks, I'm flattered. They deserve much more credit than they get for everything else though. Even if I was a no-hitter to their perfect game, anyone who knows me knows that I believe those aren't even close to the same thing, and should never be mentioned under the same breath haha.

I don't know what the limitations are. Sometimes things are done completely by design/intent, in which case it is not a flaw in their eyes. Other things are supposedly style guide-based. Then things are based on how the material takes in light via PBR and whatnot. That's why I was always confused why Chase Field's walls were so messed up, and it wasn't really on their end of things when surfaced reacted to light differently.

That edited clip looks downright amazing. Not to say The Show (as a whole) looks bad, but your colors (and sky!) seem so much truer to life, and just have a certain 'pop' that The Show has been lacking.

So played a couple games of 17 last night and still confused on how they cant get the red on jerseys correct but they can on cleats and access.
Used the Jays and their red unis (post pictures later)
The arm sleeves and the cleats were red, the jersey a faded red. I know the Dev said it could be because of lighting but how is that possible with everything else being the right color red? 2nd game I used Cubs vs Dodgers and Puig has red on bottom of cleats and holy cow it was red. Even the Cubs with their Alt blue unis were faded out next to the accessories.
