At the current moment there is no way to turn off the Show Time graphic at the bottom of the screen even when the options are set to off!

I am hoping it is a bug that will be patched with the first patch! It was noted several times during the stream that you can turn this option off!

If you play RTTS or Player lock with game watch on. Every pitch whether fair or foul is slowed into a matrix effect. It's incredibly draining.

You can turn that matrix effect off. I did it last night.

Mode Specific Options > RTTS Infield Fielding Reaction > Off (It's on Assist by default)

The SHOWTIME graphic before every pitch must be a bug, though. Hopefully they realize that and turn find a way to patch it.

Someone asked...playoff roster eligibility is not fixed. If they are not physically on 25 man on Sept 1 they are not eligible.

They may not have been approved in time. Same with some coaching staff. And no they won't be updated.

Damn thats what I figured, kinda sucks I wish you could edit the coach, or at the very least edit the name.

ShowTime thing is a bug. A reversion bug too, I have no doubt it will be fixed, but maybe we'll even get lucky and it'll be fixed in the Day 1 patch, which I don't believe is live yet.

Whats the best behind the back camera to use for watching a runner on second while pitching. I hate having to relay on my team to yell he's going. This usually causes me to panic.

Is the guess-pitch different this year? Maybe I'm missing the setting.

I get the sound and the highlighted zone if I've picked right, but not the cursor that shows where the ball is going to go.

A bit frustrating b/c (for example) if you pick low quad, the ball can be wildly out of the zone, and you don't know it like past years.

Is there a Player Search feature in Franchise mode? I lost Ryan Howard somewhere after putting him on the 10-day DL (could be because of the carry-over to '18).

Does the bat still look all pixelated like it did last year during night games? Always bugged me.

It mostly does in 1080p, somewhat in 1440p and very little in 2160p (outside of the light reflection area).

Here is the hit I was talking about:





The way the ball slows up in the air (and with that kind of back spin) simply was not a hit type you could ever have in any version of this game before it.

This hit type has already made for some nice gappers to get those extra-base hits that otherwise would hang up for outs. These have also gone over outfielders' heads.

It's the line drive we've been waiting for, the one that is not going so fast as to scream its way toward wherever it is going. The air drag is nice, really nice.

LOL!

I definitely understand this. Let me know what kinds of gameplay questions you have and I'll try and address them as much as possible (within the confines of the way that I play the game, mode and settings-wise).

I don't feel a hint of difference in pitching mechanics, just responsiveness. Hitting has its big ups. Outside of some nice slides and a little earlier on the stealing, I think baserunning is poor (always have), and I can't really control the guys well with a good back-and-forth between the base-paths as needed. Infielders are significantly less perfect and finally have make-up recovery abilities now. Catchers are of course improved (they botch catching pitches a little too much though, like ones in the air... never nearly cost anybody a base though). I think outfield play is good, but do not like how shallow the start and how much they hug the lines (this has plagued the series forever). I like that the AI plays a bit more "human" now, especially on defense and on the bases.

The hitting is what has put it over the top for me, though. The unfortunate aspects, as others have mentioned, is that it's almost too easy right now. Even on pitch speed at 10, it's still pretty slow. I'm going to be making some other slider adjustments soon enough. Another thing is I think the infield lines are a bit too unprotected as there are now a lot of fair balls that split the corner infielders and the lines.

P.S. The only broken bat I've seen in seven games so far is the one Retro mode game I played where Neil Walker snapped it over his head after taking strike three. EDIT: Finally broke one (offensively), and got a trophy heh.

Player search for 17 and previous was in the transaction tab. If you carried over likely Howard was overwritten to a generic.

Disabled list question. Had a player get injured for 30 to 60 days. Is there any reason to put him on the 60 day disabled list? My plan is to keep putting him on the 10 day disabled list.

There has to be a reason otherwise I'll just keep putting him on 10 day incase he recovers in 30 days
