Hi guys, I just joined.

I just got a ps4 for my nephew and Mlb 18 is the first game he got.
When I upload the disk and it copy’s. Then when the game starts up; we can’t get out of learning mode. It just keeps on staying there. There is no quit button.

How do we get to the home screen and actually start using the game?

Yeah pretty much all of the sports titles do this these days, where they claim it's "installed" on the system, but then when you open it up and try and play it for the first time, the true installation process begins, and you're stuck waiting with only a small part of the game to use. I absolutely hate it. I wish it would just install fully from the OS, or at least give use that option. But cie la vie.

It makes a bit more sense from the digital side of things, because depending on your internet connection you could be waiting several hours for the game to fully download. Sometimes it's nice to be able to at least do something with the game during that time, although in reality the full game actually downloads much faster if you don't have a game running.

For physical copies, yes, I agree that it's little more than an annoyance.

I’m doing a 30 team control franchise. In free agency once I’ve offered a player with more than three teams, he is “no longer interested” in one of the offers. It keeps the offers to 3 teams. Any way around this?

Is there any word whether the game will start incorporating 2 way players? For Ohtani, I have to add him to the DH as a pinch hitter after the game has started.

Also, for player training, he can only do pitcher training and doesn’t seem improve on hitting attributes?

it's highly unlikely that it will be patched into the game, and the news cycle for 19 won't start up until late October at the earliest. I usually doesn't start in earnest though until February.

Double steals aren't possible in this game, are they? Whenever I send my guy on 1st the guy on 3rd retreats to his base immediately with a slide, so it's just not possible to make him steal while the Catcher throws to second.

If I send them both at the same time the catcher just holds onto the ball and tags me out at home.

Somehow I would up with a prospect rated 78 B. I looked, and he has a contract for 37/yr for 5 years. Any way to fix this?

Only way I know to give him a different contract is to release him, see if he clears waivers, and then re-sign him to a contract you prefer.

Yeah hopefully they add it back next year. I think they will.
