Another RTTS question.....I am stuck in AAA ball for years despite hitting over .400,,,,prob is the pirates drafted me and they already have Bryce Harper in RF...Ai is too dumb to trade me to another team or try me in LF....I am about to stop playing this years version, RTTS is a step back,

Can someone explain to me how the RTTS progression works now?

When I get training options, sometimes only one field is upgraded, other times the same training all 3? Does the game explain this?

I have Arm Accuracy that says "Cannot Train" in red for some reason.

I haven't explored that deep into RTTS but there might be a random factor going on.

Is your arm accuracy at the max? Maybe that's why.

Otherwise, I don't know - I've never seen "Cannot Train" before in the bit of time I've played the mode.

That's not really a question...but you might just have to deal with it. I mean, if I was the Pirates GM, why the fox would I trade a good prospect hitting .400 at the AAA level? The Pirates AI isn't dumb in this case; it's thinking like a GM, not as your agent.

Maybe ask your AAA manager to change your position (assuming you can still do that, I usually play pitcher)? If so, maybe you can play at a spot that might have more opportunity for you to make the majors. Or maybe put a bug in your agent's ear when he calls to see how you're feeling.

Because unless Harper's really struggling or gets hurt, it's hard to imagine you'll overthrow him in RF unless you're very well developed.

I'll try my best to give you what I think is my best guess. But this answer is not 100% confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt.

As we know, progression is based on both performance in games, and special training on "off-days" or between series. In the latter case, the one you are describing, it seems what is available to be trained is almost entirely random, with a heavier weight towards statistics that your archtype finds important.

For example, in my RTTS where I'm trying to build a "powerhouse" player, who hits for bombs, but has little speed, I get a lot of options regarding power, batting clutch, and arm strength, but very few around speed, baserunning ability (and though I may be imagining it, plate vision/discipline).

Based on your archetype, it's possible other training options are not as common.

Arm accuracy being unable to be trained is something I wish I had a screenshot of, because three different things seem most likely to me.

1. You have reached the current cap. To resolve this, boost the current cap when given an option.

2. You have reached the max cap. This cannot be resolved, your player is as good as it can be in that regard. You "may" be able to change your archetype, which would allow you to improve in that stat, but any stats above the new max caps would only be able to regress, so be wary.

3. Glitch. If this is the case, report it instantly, obviously, because that shouldn't happen.

The game doesn't explain the progression system all that much, as far as I know. To be honest, I skipped through screens because I felt I understood it pretty well (for my purposes) when they did the live streams before the game launched.

I hate to double post, but I just saw this as well.

Regarding this, there are few things you can do. After all, this year's RTTS experience is more realistic than ever before.

Much like in real life, you can become blocked. Based on how long you've been in the system, you may not have any option to change your circumstances, and just have to roll with the punches for a while. .400 is a little high, so there's no 1:1 comparison, but the closest irl comparison I can think of is Kyle Tucker of the Houston Astros.

Tucker is one of the top 20 prospects in baseball, and a highly valuable asset. With that said, the Astros have Reddick, Fisher, and Springer in their outfield, and Evan Gattis (who can occasionally play LF) as their DH. For all intents and purposes, Tucker is not going to be playing in any MLB games for a little while, despite playing well enough to deserve a promotion.

Rather than start his service clock early, and waste his cheapest years where he's on the bench, the Astros have enough time to theoretically keep him in the minors for another year or two, if they want. Tucker was 18 when he was drafted, so he has to be added to the 40 man roster by the 5th rule five after his draft.

That means this year (which will feature his 4th rule 5) he doesn't need to be on the 40 man, but next year, he does have to be (if I did the math right). From there, Tucker has 3 options, which means the Astros can theoretically keep Tucker from playing in the MLB until after 4 more seasons have passed, at which point, he'd be around 25 years old.

You might think "what does any of this have to do with my situation?"

This is an example of how much power teams have over their individual players early on in their careers. It isn't until the player is in their 4th+ year that they have some semblance of power. It is directly correlated to how close they are to free agency, and how much money they are making or about to be making.

In your situation, you are nowhere close to free agency, or making a huge pay day. So the Pirates are not pressured in the slightest to do anything. They do not HAVE to do anything with you, and they are apparently not hurting badly enough that they consider it appropriate to start your service clock.

The AI isn't being too dumb to trade you. Rather, they are likely being intelligent, considering you can hit .400 in AAA, and are a great asset for in case their current outfielders get hurt, and they need a replacement. To trade you would be outright moronic, unless they got back a massive haul (which may not exist at present!)

You have a valid argument about the positional change. When it comes to the corner outfield slots, there should be really no (or a slight) difference. This might be the closest thing to a hole in the immersion I've had with the mode, as RTTS is still not as deep as it could be (it's weird that I can't just call my agent whenever. He works for me, why shouldn't I be able to talk to him whenever I want?).

Just chalk up their inability to move you as a desire for you to be in that one position and one position only.

You have ingame progression for a few attributes, catching a ball increases fielding, moving to catch it reaction, throwing to right base or cutoff man arm accuracy. Bunting or drag bunting increase those, and so on.

Arm Strength may or may not increase-I haven't seen a way to increase skill, just cap on skill. Think it is bug, not sure. Speed will not be able to be trained either. Most other things can be trained up.

Certain positions may not be able to train certain attributes like arm accuracy for first base.

There are also training that will increase stats, like I was able to train up 3 stats by getting gold medal in discipline training.

So I play pure analog when I am fielding and normal I have no problem. I just can't figure out how to scale the wall. I can't use the right stick because it preloads the throw, but if I hit the R2 or R1 button (can't remember without the controller in my hand) I dive into the wall, I don't scale. Any ideas? I am sure it is possible.

Hey guys, I could have sworn I have done this multiple times before but it's not working anymore and I've literally tried everything I can think of.

How can I simulate a season while controlling two different teams in Franchise Mode and not have 16,000 trade requests I have to deny every day? I have tried every single combination of "CPU Roster Control, CPU Trading and Ignore Budgets that is possible.

I could have swore I had no problem simulating through seasons with no popups before tonight, any ideas how to help?
