Those of you with Braves franchises in this years or last, when did Acuna and Albies start to really pan out? When did their hitting numbers increase to be dependable?

What the heck are you doing to players over there?!

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Well I kept on squawking about realistic ways to nerf the Cubs. You see, the past couple years, I would have a ten-game lead in the NL Central going into September. So the regular season wasn't any fun, because there was no point in playing until the playoffs. That wasn't such an issue with 12, 13, and 14. And I'm already playing on Legend, both hitting and pitching.

But then I came across this thread:

          htps://forums.operationsports.com/forums/mlb-show-rosters/930011-sure-has-been-asked.html

So I figured the injury bug would be the answer. Nope. I'm still kicking tail. I still have Baez, Russell, Almora, Happ, Zobrist, Schwarber, Lester, Quintana. They're no slouch.

I don't have a crystal ball or anything, but I get the funny feeling that Baez, Schwarber, and Zobrist are going to be out a little late partying one night, when a tired bus driver slams into their Lyft. They'll live, but can forget about baseball in 2018.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread

Started up the Angels franchise last night, went through players and such, identifying some needs, messed around in spring a bit to see who I hit well with etc. I do plan to make some moves, but want to see how the first month or 2 goes before I make any big trades. As for the team, if I make some moves I could fight for a wild card, not sure what I want to do. My hope is to make Ohtani a P.O, and not have him DH or hit at all. We'll see. The untouchable MLB players are Ohtani, Trout and Pujols due to contract, untouchable prospects are Adell, Jah Jones, Marsh ,Rodriguez and Thaiss. I'm considering moving Maitan in a deal to get a controllable MLB player at a needed position. Maybe a Justin Bour type bat.

As for now our most common lineup is going to be:
            Cozart 3B
            Trout CF
            Upton LF
            Pujols DH
            Calhoun RF
            Kinsler 2B
            Simmons SS
            Maldonado C
            Valbuena/Marte 1B

            Our rotation will be:
            Richards
            Skaggs
            Ohtani
            Shoemaker
            Ramirez

            Notable RP:

            Parker
            Bedrosian
            Wood

Ideally, I would like to add some left handed power, upgrade at 1B, C and add 1 or even 2 SP and a bullpen arm. Should be an exciting series to try and get the Angels back to meaningful baseball again

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread

With OSFM dropping Sunday night, I have finally started my Franchise! I'm so excited to get underway. Played 2 games thus far.

I have my rotation set up as:

                1 - L. Severino
                2 - M. Tanaka
                3 - CC Sabathia
                4 - S. Gray
                5 - J. Montgomery

                Lineup vs RHP
                CF - B. Gardner
                RF - A. Judge
                LF - G. Stanton
                C - G. Sanchez
                SS - D. Gregorius
                3B - B. Drury
                1B - N. Walker
                DH - M. Andujar
                2B - T. Wade

                Lineup vs LHP
                CF - B. Gardner
                RF - A. Judge
                LF - G. Stanton
                C - G. Sanchez
                SS - D. Gregorius
                3B - B. Drury
                2B - N. Walker
                DH - M. Andujar
                1B - T. Austin

I have Hicks and Ellsbury on the 10-day DL and Bird on the 60-day to start the year. I like starting my Franchise the same way the real season starts, and then going from there and letting things play out as they do.

                Game 1: Severino vs. Happ

Severino was really good, giving up 2 runs in 6 innings. He had given up just 1 run through 5, then got into a bases loaded, 0 outs jam in the 6th. He got Donaldson to GIDP scoring a run, then got Smoak to end the inning. The offense scored early and often including Stanton's first Yankee HR. I won the game 12-2.

                Game 2: Tanaka vs Sanchez

I jumped on Sanchez early with a 2-run HR by Stanton. I added an RBI double by Drury to go up 3-0 in the first. Easy peasy, I thought. After scoring 15 runs in the first 10 innings of my Franchise, I was a bit worried this would be too easy. Jokes on me. Sanchez settled down and I got maybe 2 hits off him the rest of the way as he pitched 7 innings giving up only the 3 runs.

Unfortunately for him, Tanaka was better. I took a no-hitter into the 6th when it was broken up by a leadoff single. Tanaka escaped the inning without giving up a run. He pitched a 1-2-3 7th getting his 13th strikeout along the way. I decided to bring him out for the 8th with 96 pitches.

First pitch lined to RF for a single. I bring in Robertson and he proceeds to give up 3 straight singles, all soft grounders JUST out of the reach of infielders and all on 3-2 counts. I bring in Kahnle and he got 2 straight Ks but then gave up a few hits. At the end of the inning my precious 3-0 lead was a 5-3 deficit. I got a 2-out hit in the 9th to bring the tying run up to the plate, but then grounded out softly to end the game. I was pissed.

I can't wait to get home from work and get back at them!

Red Sox start off 2018 with a quality 9-5 win @Tampa Bay. Chris Sale goes 5.2 with 10k! Had a no hitter going until the 5th as well. Offense showed up on opening day as well with a couple HRs and 14 hits. Quality start to the year. Onto game 2!

I simmed until 2023 to test out a possible franchise bug (which I don't think I encountered). I posted the video in another thread but thought it might be relevant to any franchise players looking to see the AI trade and sign logic in action using OSFM 1.5. I had to make the video real quick to get through in 10 mins, hope you enjoy.

Not sure if I’m missing something but I played my first franchise games last night. MLB network scoreboard with quick counts on and the pitch count for the pitcher wasn’t showing up on the scoreboard.

Is this a thing now or just a random thing happening to me haha

Pitch count doesn't show up using quick counts. This was a design decision.

Won our 3rd game in a row as we shutout the Pirates 3-0. Michael Wacha was dominant but only managed 2 strikeouts on the night. I really wanted him to get a complete game, but after 8 innings he was at 108 pitches.

Trevor Rosenthal came in and struck out the side to earn his 3rd save of the year.

We are now 6-5 and 2 1/2 games behind the hot start Brewers.

You can see the pitch count (most of the time) if you have runners on base, and you use the d-pad to bring up the menu to make substitutions, bullpen, or see opponents bullpen.
