Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
In the pic i posted, there is a window on the bottom right. It has Use as Default, Edit Name, Create New, Delete Files.
Click on Create New. The top left should now say Custom 1 or something.
Now pick Edit Name and change the name to what you want.
Now change all settings to the desired options.
Then choose Use As Default if you want that to be your main profile.
VERY important---> When you hit Circle to back out, it will ask a question. Choose Apply Changes.
Now you should see the controller show this profile on the Team select screen display.Last edited by NolanRyansSnowmonkey; 07-24-2018, 10:05 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Spring Training has come to a close and the 2020 season is about to begin. We open the season on the road with the Royals. We then play the ChiSox for 2 games so we open the year with 5 games of interleague play.
The 2020 All Star Game will be held in Detroit this year. I actually have All Star sites marked out to the 2025 season:
2020: Detroit
2021: St.Louis
2022: Oakland
2023: San Francisco
2024: Baltimore
2025: Atlanta
Ready to get this season going.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

2020 Spring Training Wrap Up
My offense didn’t really click during spring, but being that the culprits were my big time players like Freeman, Dozier, and Pina I’m not really worried that they will carry their struggles far into the season. I am a bit worried about Austin Riley, who hit under .200 without a homer. I contemplated benching him to start the year, but I’ll give him a vote of confidence off a strong rookie season and hope he was just shaking the rust off. Carlos Perez wins the backup catcher spot, and Johan Camargo beat out Dilson Herrera for reserve infielder duties (though I’m not very comfortable with him still). Rookie outfielder Michael Gettys had a strong spring batting over .320, so he sneaks in as the 25th man.
It finally looks like I have the makings of a decent pitching staff. Wisler beats Kolby Allard for the 5th starter spot. Sean Newcomb and Mike Foltynewicz were both lights out in their audition as middle relievers and they make it as well. Bryan Shaw was terrible in spring, but instead of sending him down to AAA I was able to ditch his contract to Seattle in exchange for Erick Goeddel and Cody Asche.
Here’s the opening day lineup for Game 1 in St. Louis:
SS Ozzie Albies
CF Ender Inciarte
1B Freddie Freeman
2B Brian Dozier
C Manny Pina
LF Marwin Gonzalez
RF Ronald Acuna
3B Austin Riley
P Luis Castillo
Bench
C Carlos Perez
IF Johan Camargo
OF Ezequiel Carrera
OF Michael Gettys
UT Cody Asche
Rotation
Luis Castillo
Gio Gonzalez
Mike Soroka
Luiz Gohara
Matt Wisler
Bullpen
Liam Hendriks
Edubray Ramos
Taylor Rogers
Sean Newcomb
Mike Foltynewicz
Tony Zych
Mike Montgomery
We still don’t have the pitching of the Mets, who are the defending NL champs. This team is much improved though and I’m hoping we can give them a run in what was one of the weaker divisions in 2019.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
The Marlins have run their win streak to 9 games, though this final game was a competitive one.
The Red Sox whittled away on Ricky Paris. After a strong start, Paris then gave up back-to-back no-doubt home runs. After that happened, he was clearly shaken up.
The Red Sox would proceed to hang five runs on him in 6 1/3 innings of work.
The Marlins kept staying ahead of the Red Sox charge, thanks in large part to Julian Peralta. He raked a bases-loaded double to plate three runs and put the Marlins up 7-5.
The team would get another run and then hold on in the 9th for an 8-5 win. Ozzie Luis, the team's long reliever, got the save in a curious move in which Miguel Ramirez wasn't even warmed up for the 9th, despite having more than enough energy.
Bo Winter did not play in this game as the Marlins have started platooning him with the return of Prince Jimenez from the DL. Jimenez will play vs LHP in both DH and non-DH situations and be stationed in LF.
The Marlins will conclude the six-game home stand with three against the Brewers.
The Marlins also completed a trade, sending Alfonzo Ortega to the Royals for a pair of prospects, SS Demarcus DaCosta and 1B Danny Gray. DaCosta heads to the majors as infield depth for the time being.
For the moment, the main goal around this move is the attempt to keep the core players around. Ortega will be heading towards free agency soon while Greg Rivera, the 1B that, for now, will take over duties, has four more years of team control. This will free up money for the attempt to extend Stan Brito and Arturo Gonzalez, both of whom will likely command big dollars and refuse any qualifying offer. Miguel Ramirez is also up for free agency, and, while replacing him might be easier, he's still a top-level arm.
Then, next season, Bo Winter, Curtis Anders, and Jay Craft are approaching free agency.
This doesn't include any arbitration cases.
"Ortega on top of what we already have to deal with financially would likely mean we lose him for nothing, so moving him while he still has this year and next on his contract and won't be just a rental to a club, was imperative, especially with someone like Greg Rivera waiting in the wings, " a team official spoke.
This also might open the door for Bo Winter to begin the move to first base. That could be the undercurrent to this move and the insertion of Prince Jimenez in the lineup along with Sammy Chastain hanging around as "depth" in LF. The Marlins may be up to something in the outfield.
"Ortega's departure definitely clears the versus right portion of the line up card at first base. Rivera could platoon at his stronger side vs lefties until Winter's time is done, and with so many years of control, the timing might lineup perfectly for moving on from Winter, either via retirement or next contract, " one analyst commented.Last edited by KBLover; 07-25-2018, 11:21 AM."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Well due to my own negligence, the following players are on outright waivers because they were out of option years and I didn't pay attention:
Alex Reyes
Carson Kelly
Miguel Socolovich (this one I knew)
Nick Martini
Nick Burdi
Jeremy Hazelbaker (this one I knew)
I really, really, really hope that none of these are guys are claimed as I don't want to lose them. I really thought each of the ones I didn't mark had a year left.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
