If it were me, i would choose the simming option out of the two, since its Spring, and those stats vanish eventually anyway. But still a tough decision to make!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Lol. I am the same way. I always try to rotate saves every day. Ever since i simmed one of my games one time accidentally. It was only like 3 games into a Franchise so i started completely over lol.

And if I wait to see what happens and I lose them then I'm going to want to start over..LOLI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

That is something that affects your team long term, so now is the best time to fix it in my opinion. I know the wrestling you are dealing with because i would be the same wayComment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Haha. Yeah i get that too. I think if you saw it and then CHOSE to skip it, then regretted it and went back to change it, that would be cheating. But since it is an honest oversight that would never actually happen in real life, i think it is more realistic to go back and fix it, and thus not cheating. I don't think those guys would ever be lost on accident in real life, so i don't think you should feel bad at all about it.

I think I'm going to go home load up the old save, re-adjust the rosters and then sim through the final week.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
At mid April with my Marlins franchise, as one would expect things are looking ugly so far. We have a record of 5-12, already 7.5 games out of the division. Somehow we aren’t in last place though, the Braves somehow sit in the basement of the NL East with the worst record in baseball at 3-15.
Some of our trade candidates are starting to market themselves well though it’s still way early. Bour is off to nice start on fire hitting 288 with 3 HR’s. Realmuto is hitting 288 with 8 RBI’s. Cameron Maybin is hitting a crazy 359.
Our pitching is off to a rough start though. Barraclough owns a 8.10 ERA, Ziegler has a 20.25 ERA after getting hit hard in his first appearance, Steckenrider has a 9.00 ERA, Taylon Guerrero has a 4.76 ERA, and by far the worst of them all, Despaigne has a 9.28 ERA after 10.1 innings.
As for our struggling starters, Henderson Alvarez is off to a slow start in his return to Miami pitching to a 7.54 ERA, Chen is also cold to open the season with a 4.64 ERA.
We picked up SS Yunel Escobar as a free agent before opening day and he’s off to a blistering start in South Beach hitting 355.
Most importantly out of it all is that Brian Anderson is playing well so far hitting 309 with 4 HR’s, and 12 RBI’s. Depending on him to be part of the next contending Marlins core.
About a week ago we also signed RP Bruce Rondon, a hard throwing 27 year old former Tigers prospect. This is likely the best chance he’ll get to get his career back on track. See if we can get lucky here.
Been keeping an eye on the waiver wire but no one of interest has appeared yet.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
I went through and re-loaded my franchise from earlier save point and fixed my rosters. I was able to send Reyes to Memphis through waivers without issue. Carson Kelly was claimed but it was a revocable waiver, so I pulled him back and Francisco Pena is now down in Memphis. I actually thought about this as ST went on, but decided not to do it, until now...LOL
I also passed Martini and Burdi through without issue. The only guys exposed are Hazelbaker, Socolovich, and Tuivailla, all of whom I'm not worried if claimed as they are replaceable.
Thanks for the input and feedback on my situation all, I greatly appreciate it.
Now off to start the 2020 season.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
We open the 2020 season with a victory over the Royals, 3-0. Michael Wacha took a no-hitter into the 9th, but Alex Gordon singled to left to break it up as the first batter of the inning. Wacha threw 120 pitches. Wacha struck out 7 while walking 6. Rosenthal came in and closed the door to secure the win.
Kolten Wong had a day as he was 2 for 3 with a homerun and a triple. He drove in 2 of our 3 runs. He was rung up in his 3rd at bat on a horrible strike 3 call. We only managed 3 hits ourselves (DeJong had the other) as Jake Arrieta was dominant for the Royals.
We are off Friday then game 2 is Carlos Martinez vs Yordano Ventura.
Quest for 162-0 continues.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I'll add in real life prospects and more often, I'll add in draft classes as well as international signings.
Helps add to the longevity of playing a carry over franchise when you still have real players making up about 98% of the rosters in the game. I need to work on that other 2%...LOLI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

For the 2nd year in a row, the Cubs are starting the year with a significant injury to a key player.
Kyle Schwarber is on the DL for 1-2 months due to a knee injury. He suffered the injury during Spring Training. He is due to return to the lineup around Memorial Day.
Last year the Cubs lost Anthony Rizzo for the year due to an ACL tear suffered in Spring Training.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I always start with the stock roster, so I have tons of generated players. I edited in Acuna a while back, but to keep it "even" I edited one of my generated players with A-potential into Acuna. I don't want to give myself an unfair advantage with too many A-potential prospects.
I want to edit in Soroka now, but I don't have any generated A-potential pitchers. I think I'm going to take one of my B-potential guys and make him Soroka and then edit Blair (I assume I can edit the ratings of a real-life guy) from an A-potential to a B to keep it even. Blair shouldn't be an A (or even a B really) at this point anyway.Comment

When I finish a season I then go back and add in that year's draft prospects into the game.
I keep it balanced for all teams and don't let teams get too high nor too low with potential of prospects. It's worked out great thus far *knocks on wood*I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
