Definitely excited about that. Easy adjustment for me, too, as I can dial the slider back closer to default if I feel the need to after the patch.

Question, and this may be a bit unfair because its all about opinion/perception, but would you say the default speed is now closer to that of '16?

I felt the pitch speed in '16 was great.

Pitch speed feels VERY VERY close to '16 to me in the 3 games I have played, I have never been a good hitter on mlb the show but before this patch it felt like I had 5 minutes to time up a pitch and clobber it lol...needless to say, I can't hit a ball with a 2"x6' piece of lumber after the patch and I LOVE IT[emoji16][emoji461]...back to the show!! Lol oh man I thought it was just me with the conquest map and half the colors looking the same [emoji23]

It definitely wasn't just you, this year's Conquest map is extremely hard on the eyes. I was assuming it wouldn't change, pleasantly surprised to hear they've edited it. Now if I could only log in to find out what it looks like...

Given one of the devs liked this post, I'm going to presume this means fixing this issue is a top priority. I mean, it has to be right? Last year, hundreds of thousands of people DL'ed the OFSM roster and it's THE key variable in a true life (sim) franchise so if its not available or substantially delayed, that could be a big PR hit.

Hopefully soon, I'd love to see a patch within the next week or so. [emoji4]

I'm still using both pitch speeds at 10 on HOF batting with directional hitting. I want it as life like as possible. I just wish the game would tell us that a 90mph fastball looks like a xx mph fastball on different difficulties and as we change the sliders so we know exactly how life like it really is.

Example: All Star - 90mph fastball looks like a 80mph fastball on default sliders, and every click of the slider raises or lowers the visual speed by 1mph

Keep in mind, there’s also a 1.06 patch yet to be released that’s going to fix even more issues. One of the guys from SDS chimed in on a thread (forgot which one), and said there’s more stuff to be fixed.

1.06 is to include fixes for dynamic attendance bugs - was mentioned by SDS on that thread....good news.

Doesn't seem like an issue with fielding. If anything to me, it seems a little tighter towards non overpowering moves.

On another note, how do you actually avoid downloading a patch without actually just turning off internet? I had auto downloads off and every time I went into a mode in the game it would try and download the patch.

The only download I ever tried to stop was a big game I somehow got for free and I was able to pause and delete it. I tried and failed to stop this one. These files are so small it's difficult to navigate the menus on the ps4 in time.

In past years I always looked forward to the next patch thinking it might fix the game. This year I'm the opposite. I see nothing wrong with manage mode. They obviously spent a lot of time working on the game.

I haven't played a game post-patch.

Anyone know if they fixed the faceguard issue where it can't be applied to anyone wearing a helmet other than protective?

Looking at a CAP with BASIC grayed out, so is CHIN GUARD.

I hope this is addressed and made available in the big 1.06 patch.

I just have a habit now of cancelling patch downloads when I first turn it on and the downloads start. When I find out the patch doesnt break the game further or mess up the sliders I'm already happy with, I allow it to go through. It only tries to download when I first turn on the ps4, so I just cancel and delete it. It will be back next time if I decide I want it. I guess I've just updates and patches mess up too many games, apps, phones, etc.

If you highlight the game before launching and select "options" I think you can see what version you have.

Act as if you were going to start the game and hover over the game icon, then hit the options button and click on check for update, assuming your PS4 is connected to the internet.

On the PS4 dashboard, press Options when the game is highlighted, go to Information and it will tell you which version the game is at.

Also, while connected to the internet, you can select, 'Check For Updates' to see if you are fully up to date as well.

Also, I'm seeing some people complaining about certain things not being fixed. The game has been out for less than a week and we already have a patch addressing several suggestions by the community. Kudos SCEA.
