The graphics and gameplay alonr is far better in 2018 IMO. I stopped playing 2017 cause the franchise bugs were to much for me and im a franchise guy.

There's a lot of subtle differences, but these have been covered already. I hope this isn't a thread for people looking too complain that the game is too similar.

No, they are the exact same game with different titles. They just want more of your money.

They are literally night and day man.

There's no way to go back to 17 after playing 18, and i loved 17 it was the first year I played 162+ game chise. But it holds no candle to 18.

Anybody saying that they are similar, doesn't really know these games. They just see baseball and go oh it's the same.

But that's the only thing 17 and 18 have in common. They are both baseball games, everything else is different.

'18, is by far the best game on the field, in the stands, and in the booth. I am going to say this with confidence and I am not joking. SDS, step their game up in this presentation package, as much as they did with the presentation package. If I were them I would have made it part of the "franchise" stream. MLB The Show 18, is the best sports video game presentation package on the market. You will not understand this statement until you get to about a month in on your franchise. When they patch the audio you really get to hear the atmospherics of the crowd.

Not even gonna lie as much as the presentation and gameplay have improved.

My favorite thing this year is they have finally fixed the washed out colors on the jerseys. The color alternates actually match the socks and sleeves, and the numbers and logos on the road and home jerseys pop finally.

It just really brings that real life immersion in there finally after we've suffered with those for years.

Even if they are as similar as can be, I'm fine paying top dollar for updated rosters. What I'm NOT fine with is when they start removing the big things. As it stands right now, unless season play comes back, I am on the fence for a full price pay for 19. Still, that's a long ways off to make an informed decision about a purchase. 2 weeks in, I have already warmed up to having to play 90% in franchise where previous years it was less than 50% at best.Who knows how I'll feel next March. I'm just trying to enjoy what I have on hand. And so far, succeeding lol
