Not sure I could talk my wife into getting MLBTS18, or atleast not till the price drops, as I had told her if I ended up wanting 18, I would wait for a price drop of the game, and to make sure Franchise has improved, since its all I play.

Can you tell me whats new in Franchise mode. As in Spring Training, improvements, in the way Managers manage during the spring, or is it the same old crap, and did they add in more ST'ing ballparks? Also doe the AI manager make better decisions? Plus how is sim stats looking in Franchise mode? Thanks
I didn't get to play Spring Training prior to starting my carryover save due to a bugaboo when carrying over, so I can't speak to manager roster logic in those games.

There are no new ST ballparks this year.

I think the AI manager is very competent this year. I know others have expressed concern over bullpen logic, but personally I haven't seen this. The AI is managing the bullpen pretty much as how I would expect and how I would do it. Maybe I have piss poor bullpen management skills myself...

Sim stats look good to me, but they always have. I'm at the end of April and I don't see any stats that jump out to me as being too inflated or deflated.

Any other questions let me know.

Are you learning bullpen management from Matheny? [emoji2]

I completely agree, AI management is much better. I have seen a few switches for lefty/lefty match ups and have also come across smart PH choices.

In my franchise I'm 9 games in, Cubs are 8-1, Yanks/Bos are 7-2 and LAD are 6-3 for some examples. No "good" team is doing poor and vice versa.

Player stats look good. No crazy HR numbers, leader has 4 in 9 games.

One other thing CaseIH is that franchise has new roster management for the CPU where they try to balance their roster better. I have seen this first hand in my carryover save as teams with overloaded positions are trading with other teams to fill positions of weakness. Its nothing over the top and no big trades or anything, but it is a welcomed sight to see the CPU manage his roster for not only today, but the future.

Is this with the game out of the box or are you using a specific sliders set for this?

That's one thing I noticed right away this year, the game actually good right out of the box with default sliders. Most sports games, it's a couple weeks of slider testing before it plays well, but default is pretty good this year.

Mine are sliders from OS with dynamic difficulty.

Now, if somebody wants fast play, fine, but to say this is over hyped? We really disagree with this especially if your reasoning is you want to "actually play". This lack of presentation is what made the game SO stale for the last few years.
The problem I have with it is that it's sprinkled around among a bunch of old cut scenes. They are there and they are nice when you actually see them. But it's not as often as it should be to make me feel like I'm playing a new game. It still feels stale. I went back to 17 thinking I'd miss 18 but there isn't much to miss.

Thanks CB, I appreciate the info. I had hopes they had atleast added in more ST'ing ballparks, since last gen had more ST ballparks. Sounds like there has been some nice improvements, just not sure, there is enough there for me to give in a buy it, even though Im sure it plays a great game of baseball. I probably will just wait till next yr and hope forsome more Franchise improvements, or atleats wait till the price drops, or buy it used. Again thanks for the reply.

17 is exactly the same as 18 with a change in camera angles (if you play RTTS) and uniform colors.

                        No ppl's elbow in 17😣
No batting stance editor in 17 😣
The differences exist but they may not necessarily interest you. And that's alright.
