Meanwhile it's literally the first game of the season.

I've always assumed it's because the data pool that info like that gets pulled from comes from can't distinguish between seasons, so the last 5 games are the last 5 games, and as far as the engine powering the commentary is concerned the off season means diddly squat.

So yeah, if you're guy ended his last season in a slump, they will probably comment on it at the start of the new season.

The one that gets me is when they say....stepping in is the powerful right fielder Nick Markakis.......like when?? He wasn't that powerful before he needed surgery....

        Re: Commentary repetition

A lot of good dynamic things are being talked about as I progress in my franchise and it is nice to hear.

But way too many lines are being repeated and I am only 27 games into my season.

Taking the good with the bad.

The other one that gets me is a guy will be 0-2 and Matt will say “he has a hit tonight, he’s 0 for 2”. Uhh what?

Oh and one thing I have employed is commentary is shut off for me on Theme 2.

I use SOTS and on theme two all in-between inning music is the actual stadium music.

So that is more of a live at the ball park theme.

MLBN and Theme 1 are broadcasts with Theme 1 having the regional broadcast themes between innings and MLBN default music.

Because in real life hitting streaks carry over from year to year.

If I hear “ambush tactics” one more time. I may throw my controller through the screen.

The commentary for the Show makes for a great drinking game.

I think hearing the commentary sound EXACTLY the same when I first started playing took some excitement out of me.

I tend to turn the commentary off or have it on 2-3 and listen to music or videos.

or the bottom of a fifth, whichever's first.

You'd be drunk after the starting lineup then. [emoji23]

I wouldn't mind if this series had a japan commentary audio option. The tone of voice probably would have more excitement to plays even though I don't know the language.

I find this series more enjoyable with the commentary off. 17 was a little improved with harold reynolds but overall this series direction of sticking with matt v play by play and cycling others with him has stagnated this part of the presentation.

The repetition has been around for so long, it's caused the complaints to be repetitive. I'm not saying that's good or bad I'm just making an observation.
And you can observe a lot just by watching.
