Lol he can be so frustrating. I strike out so much with him. But he is also 2nd in HR. And it feels so good to connect with him. He leaves no doubt. Except when he hits what seems like a high fly ball that just drifts its way out. I think can see the Boston game from some of his pop fly replays.

Manual fielding is atrocious right now so I have to tweak the sliders to where my 2 nearly Gold Glove winning outfielders don't look like morons trying to catch a baseball (bugs galore with some line drives that my guys will refuse to even put their gloves up to catch even though they're in perfect position to do it)Comment

Re: The Disturbing Trend I've Noticed About MLB: The Show
I use assisted fielding, meaning all I basically do is get the player to where the ball is. The AI gets them in position to catch it.....sometimes. And sometimes it blunders and does that.Comment

I am referring to the line drive misses you referenced. Even with assisted fielding you can do as i posted.Comment

"Good Timing"
God I hate seeing those words.
Perfectly squared up swing, good timing = lineout or deep fly out

Have you ever had a perfectly squared up swing, good timing go for a hit?

But perfectly squared and good timing shouldn’t always equate to a hit or homerun.
It happens in real life a guy will square it up and hit it right at someone or fly out or something other than a hit.

Swing timing seems to be consistent with the bat's location. Which, isn't good at all.
Say it's a 2-4 game and you're trailing in the bottom of the 8th with 2 outs. You need a gapper.
The game's set "Good Swing Timing" squares up the ball to be driven wherever it deems it to go. That's not okay, that's RNG.
However, customizing the "Good Swing Timing" area to just a little early or late to get in the gap but squared up to get the most out of it, is necessary. Especially for zone hitting.
It also equates to more reward, and pressure, on the player.
The current system, honestly, just takes the game out of the hands of the player.
I need to be able to tell my player "Hey, you need to square the ball of just a bit earlier to try and get it into the gap." Meaning I need to be able to customize the swing timing to fit the situation.Comment

I made this point in the wishlist thread, and that's for a more in-depth hitting system with customizable swing timings and batting strategies to implement.

I’m just going to say that imo, hitting is fine.
I’ll leave it at that.

Right now, it's really just square up the ball to the best of your ability, swing, and hope RNG gives you a good result.Comment
