I don’t know that it still feels new to me, but it’s on my short list for best sports game ever.

The variety is something they nailed this year. I’ll be playing this well after the real season is over, and a good while after that.

New may not have been the best adjective to use, but what I was trying to convey was that the game provides so much variety with each game being different, that I don't feel like I'm playing the same "game" over and over.

And I agree, I'll be playing this game right up until the release of '19.

Undoubtedly the greatest sports game I have ever played. It is so good I am afraid to get 19.......I have so many more rosters and seasons to play.

I am chugging along playing every pitch, every inning in my carry over Yankees franchise from 17 (which was every pitch, every inning). And I am going to go nuts if I win the World Series.....having he greatest time I have ever had with a sports game.

        Baseball is life.

I don't mess with sliders at all, except for the pitch speed sliders because I think at default the ball is too "floaty".

But if I messed with sliders, I would say at a bare minimum I would play 10 games before even thinking about altering a slider. 25 would probably be my threshold for when to make a tweak to a slider to adjust an aspect of the game.

I myself play using meter pitching and zone hitting. I find the CPU to be extremely capable on Legend difficulty of getting hits, drawing walks, and scoring runs. But it's not overpowered nor does it feel fabricated.

What is you pitch speed slider setting ?

I think I'll try again with default sliders. I'm using Mike Lowe's Sliders but I have the feeling that something is wrong with directional hitting.

And do you see the CPU making errors ? In 5 matches, I didn't see any throwing error made by the CPU.

I have both fastball and offspeed maxed out.

Yes I see errors for the CPU. Last night, Travis Snider for the Pirates dropped a routine fly ball with 2 outs that led to a run. Unfortunately we still lost, but errors do occur.

I only play the one season (keep all 30 teams ML rosters current), so I can't brag about 250 games, lol, but this is a game I truly look forward to playing my daily game. I sit and scan the news for roster moves (gotta move McCutchen over the to the Yankees this morning, who woulda thunk?) and look forward to playing my game in the afternoon.

I play AUTO field, MANUAL throw and a center swing guy, AS v. AS, but sometimes bump up my pitching to HOF. Game has been pretty near flawless for me. Hit variety is amazing (maybe because I center swing), games have varied results and the added presentation this year actually saved it for me (to say nothing of the 4k TV/PS PRO adding to the visual enjoyment). They've given us so much to make this game just right for us (me).

Now, revisit the bunting and I'll be 100% happy instead of 95% happy.

I've pretty much stopped bunting at this point. Rocket bunts were leading to double plays, so figured may as well swing away and see if we can get a better result. It's proven to be a good strategy.

I quick manage the bunts. Unfortunately the CPU still bunts everything on a lazer to my first baseman. I swear, I could bean the CPU bunter and he'd still put it down the line (with this head).

I just have a house rule that if the CPU bunts in a sacrifice situation, I make the throw to first. For the most part, the CPU follows the same house rule when I try to sacrifice.

That said, I do wish they'd tone down the rocket bunting.

I think Show 12 was the one that kept its newness all the way till the release of 13 because I kept switching from Show 12 on the ps3 to Show 12 on the vita. I didnt get jack**** done at work in 2012
I'd still use the Vita and PS3 if I could share files between the two. Stinks they made it a cloud-based system. Definitely helped being able to play The Show on the road.

Matheny is still my manager. I just signed him to a 4 year deal before this season. I will continue my carryover as I am so heavily invested in it.

I just finished playing the AA All-Star game and one thing that stands out is the difference between top fielding players and mediocre, bad fielders.

A player from the Texas League North hits a soft liner to third base that would require the 3rd baseman to make a quick reaction to field the ball. I'm thinking I've got this because Patrick Wisdom has made this play time and time again, but nope, not the 20 something all star 3rd baseman at the AA level, who is still developing his glove. The ball gets past and ends up driving in a run.

Made me appreciate the good fielders I have currently on my roster and reminded me why when roster building, I typically prefer a guy with a glove over that of a bat.

Also something I'm enjoying about '18 is that twice in the same inning of this All-Star game, the CPU made a bullpen move to get a preferred match up. First time it was lefty on lefty, then he immediately pulled the lefty to get a righty on the mound to face the 3 straight right handed hitters coming up.

We're about 3 weeks away from 18 being 6 months old. Usually around Christmas time is when I drastically reduce my actual amount of games played (though there are other things Show related I still attend to). The classic rosters in the vault are another great way to keep the game fresh also FWIWthough I do prefer the 80's rosters over the ones from the 90's.

I am playing the 1995 roster file I have to death. As an Indians fan, that season was a miracle year. I was 23 in 1995, and literally every pitch of every game was life & death. As a longsuffering Cleveland Indians diehard, we FINALLY had something to celebrate (and the strike-shortened 1994 season crushed me because we would have made the Wild Card spot). This is my first ever time playing The Show. I'm an xbox lifer, so I finally purchased the PS4 on Memorial Day weekend (my birthday). After a quick learning curve (I played MLB 2K13 to death) I absolutely LOVE this game. I don't know how many games I've played - TONS of them...but this game, thought not perfect, is the greatest sports sim I've ever had the joy of playing. I only wish we had SEASON MODE.
