I completely get your point, but as an FYI, franchise players not buying the game and playing franchise mode is actually creating the opposite result you are hoping for.

Don't get me wrong, I get it. If you aren't happy with the direction (I'm not) don't buy it.

But it won't result in more future work on franchise if we hold a great walk out.

I'm not sure how Franchise players not buying the game (and thus not playing Franchise) would help Franchise.

Will withhold judgment until I see the stream archive, but I guess I'm just hoping for the one thing they did give us (contracts) to be implemented properly. Such a low, low bar to clear.

It might not. That's the sad part. This death spiral this mode is on.

Curious to how real life value contracts work with carryover saves.

But contract extensions, the ability to structure the payout, and the presentation updates are all great additions for my personal taste.

One thing I was hoping for with contracts being the primary focus this year, was the ability to have contact options at other points of a contract, instead of just the final season.

Like signing a player to a 10 year deal with an opt out at year 5 or something along those lines.

I would think that since you have a carry over save the contracts wouldn't change no?

I would think that players would be valued the same dependant on the salaries of how the roster is based on the franchise.

90+ ovr players still getting the same deals as your franchise currently in Show18

I for one don't really care for contract extensions. This does nothing for me. I have a carry over save with my own financial budgets for all 30 team control. So I can do my extensions at end of season and be happy. For some this is a big deal and I'm happy for y'all.

I will buy TheShow 19 but it won't be until it goes on sale in the summer. I will go on with my franchise on 18 and carry over when I think the game is at its peak! Usually whenever Armor and Sword is happy lol.

I love the way 18 played for me and not enough new stuff to make me drop $60 on the new game. Only thing that was making me jump straight to 19 was updated schedule, but I think I can live without it.

I am a franchise guy and I only play franchise..

I will be buying the game NOT because of franchise mode however. I will be buying it for of cause the roster update. but most importantly today it sold me with the presentation changes it really swung me in the way to pre order it ready from the digital store (and I never pre order games) add the gameplay changes this year. that is why I am buying it.

sure I am disappointment and frustrated that franchise hasn't had much added and the direction the game is going with, adding in trying to be fortnite with battle royals and DD cards and crap, and that does raise red flags for the future of franchise. but I might as well keep enjoying it while it is still there. and just go with what we have. the presentation and gameplay and roster changes is enough for me to still buy the game even though franchise has hardly been touched

There is no way I'd carry my MTO over to franchise for the fact that it's default rosters. No desire to play with fictional players in the minors, so that's a no-go for me. I could see it being a fun mode if you just play MTO without advancing further.



As for franchise, I have zero confidence that the budget/financial system can handle real contracts, as we've seen in previous versions. I've tried to be positive for this year, but I'm struggling right now.

Have fun with that. When your 3 years into your franchise and all of the top players are sitting on the free agent list come the all star break, because nobody has the budget to sign them. We will see if it's still a "big deal" for you. Plus you could already do this yourself last year it just broke the game.

They haven't even changed over everyone's contract value to real salaries yet and the game is two weeks away from release. Do you honestly believe that is enough time to adjust the franchise engine. I doubt it.

Edit: sorry, I just realized my post came off super aggressive and I didn't mean it to.

I really hope you’re wrong and they did adjust the financial system as a whole. If not this is going to be a disaster for franchise players that play more then 1 or 2 years into a franchise.

Me too, if you think about it why would a casual gamer play that mode first then all of a sudden get interested in playing franchise mode?? your either a franchise guy or you are not, you can't swing someone to that mode after giving them a lockdown stripped mode.

Yep. Most will play it for the rewards and turn to the next team, ala Team Epics in DD. Can you imagine someone going through a season with Toronto in MtO? They get done with the road, but no Vlad Jr, No Bichette etc? Nobody will ever turn that into a franchise.

March to October won’t allow custom rosters. So that means any rookies without service time (Eloy) won’t be in the mode.

Pass. Hard pass.
