Imported my franchise and game feels like a more polished version of 18...which is a great thing. Animations are very smooth.

One issue I’ve noticed is on some of the pre-pitch cameras the foul lines and the coaching box lines will freak out a bit (the foul lines will appear as dotted or dashed lines and the coaching boxes will flicker). Only played one game so far so I’ll see if it keeps happening.

Has anyone noticed the stutter/frame rate drop when the ball makes contact with the bat? Doesn't happen every time. But damn, it's annoying.

Also seeing some bad frame rate issues all around.

Glad you confirmed my findings and it took all but 1 inning to notice....Not seen anybody else say the same

But this occurs in balanced mode and I even saw it in performance mode. Outfield fly balls are the worst

Absolutely love the way packs work now. Big reveal for golds and diamonds. And cool that it shows the category of the card before flipping over and revealing the player. Just adds a little more fun factor.

First off, I love the product that SDS puts out and I'm an advocate year in and out for their efforts. That said, I've got no gameplay impressions yet, as I've been opening the packs and digging into the items that came with the Digital Deluxe version. I've just got to say, I'm thoroughly disappointed with the extras that came with it... that I paid for. Everything is seriously lacking, the classic stadium selection was eh (it selected Turner Field [Old Atlanta] for me when I was browsing without me doing so; very strange how quick it did so), and the packs contain mostly filler/trash and repeats of said trash. I've got as many as six of the same unimpressive cards.

I wasn't expecting the moon and the stars, but for $99 and some change, I was expecting a little more bang for my buck besides stubs and filler. I guess I learned my lesson. Should've gone with the GameStop version and gotten the hat I'd probably just give to my daughter anyway.

I'll be going with the standard edition next year.

Early Impressions

Pros

•*Pre Pitch and Batter Camera is a much thirsty need for people who have been playing the series for a very long time. Helps with the repetition from game to game.

• Crowd noise is improved and sounds a lot better. Long thirsty wait for people who have been playing the series for a very long time. Upgraded so I did not have to hear "Beat it Out" constantly from the crowd noise mistake in MLB 18.

• Fading in between pitches and when playing Player Lock on Defense is improved and a lot quicker. This has been painful on the eye in previous iterations if you play 162 games on Player Lock with Full Game Watch. So this slight increase of speed is very welcomed. It's not completely gone but better than before.

• They might have fixed the Pitcher Pick Off move when using a Player Locked player and taking a lead with the R1 button off of first. I tried it I hit the left stick pretty quickly (reflex) while the pitcher was throwing over.

The tag appeared to actually be applied late. Happy to see it but needs more testing to be 100% sure if its fixed. If it is then it will be a very nice challenge instead of constantly being called out.

Cons

• Player Lock Defense still needs to be improved unfortunately!

• Unable to cover second base bag when ball hit to outfield and CPU is
running from 1st to second. You get sucked into a animation that clears
the base for the incoming runner while the play is still active :/

• CPU runners still jog slow into second even though play is still active :/

• Pick Off play still does not work when you are playing a Player Lock SS
or other infield defensive position :/

• Defensive shifts with Player Lock on defense still do not work properly! Best bet to set the option
to "Some" :/


Current Status

Leaving game as is and turned off the internet!

Holy ****! This game is fire. 4k mode runs much smoother for me this year. Lighting is improved. Hitting and fielding feel fantastic. I take everything negative back about the dev team I've said from the past month. This game is very solid.

Lastly for Rangers fans. The undershirts are tied to the hats now, so you can FINALLY pull off the home whites with red socks, red hat, and red undershirts as well as the red jerseys with red socks, red hats, and red undershirts. Wowsers.

100% frame rate took a huge step back even in performance mode

I just do not get it though, the graphics are the same so what did they do that made the fps dip so bad?

Also has the game ever been this huge in size. 71gb

Somebody said the CPU won’t swing at the first pitch. Mare hit my first pitch into the gap off the wall. Stadium sounds are great. Announcers are o f f again this year. I have the pre pitch camera on, but not seeing what I saw in the streams, hmmmm.

Game looks bright, player scanned faces look better this year. No frame rate problems.

One thing, saw Marte not tag up on a fly ball to right I think he should have, but I really haven’t played a full game yet.

Am playing on AS right now, default sliders, carryover franchise.

I have bad framerate issues but I'm hoping its only in the loading game. Box scores are still basic as if I'm reading a 1950's newspaper.

The presentation is top notch this year. I've no-hit the Mets through 5 innings and during the transition to the 6th, Heidi's showed up in the Mets dugout. She mentioned that spirits are low and that their manager will be trying non conventional things to get back in it. During that, the camera also showed a dejected Mets player with his head down, being talked to by their manager. Really cool!
