Was going to write a seething rant about how preposterous it is that during rain games it will thunder in between every stinking pitch. For one thing, for years now, they do not play outdoor sporting events when there’s thunder: thunder means lightning and nearby lighting gets games postponed immediately. For another, between every freaking pitch? Please find a new sound tech. However, after playing with the sound off for a few innings, I noticed the rain stopped and with it the thunder. So, dynamic rain! Was this always the case? Pretty great to see.

      Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

I think it was introduced with rain delays out of necessity. Agree it's an awesome addition.

Phillies/Nats, fifth game of the season. 1-1 game, Top of the 10th, Hoskins hits a towering shot to LF off of Barraclough. Ball is a mile high. As it comes down, it clips the very bottom right corner of the foul pole, rolls along the top of the wall, and Andrew Stevenson (in LF) plays the rolling ball off of the top of the wall.

He goes to throw it back in, and Matty V announces it as a home run.

Wish I was able to record it. The physics of the ball clipping the foul pole and then perfectly rolling horizontally along the top of the wall and into Stevenson's glove were absolutely fantastic.

This is in RTTS and it's awesome. It will have information about your player like how many runs you have scored over the last few games, RBI's, Homeruns, hit streaks, etc. A really awesome feature.

This may have been in the game already but because I don't hit many homers never noticed it before. Hit 2 homeruns in a game with Mitch Moreland, and his next plate appearance they did a close zoom in of his face as he was walking to the batters box while of course talking about his home runs. Had never seen this particular camera cut before, was really neat.

Re: MLB The Show 19 - Little Things Thread

This is going to be a long but hopefully detailed message about the little things I would like changing that could make a huge difference to the game. Firstly, my 'terminology' might not be the best. I'm not an insane follower of the game but I do enjoy watching my Padres from the UK. I have noticed (over they years) so many little things I could really improve to the sounds/visuals/cameras to make a massive unique feeling to the game.

                  BROADCAST CAMERA VIEW
Firstly they need to have a true authentic position of the TV camera behind the mound in the stand. In MLB 19 The Show, I've noticed they have usually 2 differing positions depending on which side you hit the ball too. Just have one perfectly aligned camera like at most stadiums.

Secondly, the coding of this camera. This probably relates to most camera views but the coding needs to be not to follow the person/ball exactly to centre it on the screen. For example, when a player is walking to the plate or running to the dugout at the end of the inning, the camera bounces up and down slightly to align directly to the centre of the screen. There should be a slight delay on the camera and not feel so locked in. This is noticeable on the current broadcast camera for defensive/offensive field view. For example, hit to SS and throw to 1B, have the camera zoom in slightly on the player and as they throw across to 1B, zoom out to show the depth/distance of the throw and don't have the camera immediately lock centrally onto the ball.
Link to an example of what I mean below
                  <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Turns out Fernando Tatis Jr. is very good at this baseball thing <a href="https://t.co/BFVCkp1OwN">pic.twitter.com/BFVCkp1OwN</a></p>&mdash; Barstool Sports (@barstoolsports) <a href="https://twitter.com/barstoolsports/status/1117988372356661249?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 16, 2019</a></blockquote>

                  FIELDING GLOVES PHYSICS
Simple one here, have the glove close fully! When the catcher catches it, you shouldn't really be able to see the ball still. It seems for years that the glove doesn't close properly like in real life.

                  BROADCAST SCORECARD THEME POSITION
Some broadcasters (ROOT/MASN) have them in the bottom right of the screen. Perhaps next year have one that can be in that location rather than always top left of the screen (again little things!).

                  REVERB AUDIO
Is it just me or has the reverb audio been tweaked so they really don't sound like they are coming from the stadium speakers as much? Tweak this back again so there is more of a reverb/echo and also don't make the microphones seem as close to the speakers. Especially in broadcast view, you want it to feel like you aren't directly in the stand/at plate. Have that far distance sound. Also tweak it so occasionally you hear the sound up close like a camera microphone when it certain situations like after a HR or walk off.
Example below, notice right at the end it sounds slightly clearer as the audio comes from the camera itself.
                  <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Put the first one on the board! <a href="https://twitter.com/wilmyers?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@wilmyers</a> send a solo shot to right center field for the first <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Padres?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Padres</a> run of 2019! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SDOpeningDay?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#SD OpeningDay</a> <a href="https://t.co/bdrLVdKolh">pic.twitter.com/bdrLVdKolh</a></p>&mdash; San Diego Padres (@Padres) <a href="https://twitter.com/Padres/status/1111380832428548097?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 28, 2019</a></blockquote>
                  ******** async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

                  BALL ON BAT SOUNDS
Oh, this needs real tweaking! There is no reverb off the bat and it sounds very generic. In broadcast view, they need to tweak this a lot! Have the sounds differ from stadium to stadium. At Tropicana Field, there needs to be a lot more of a reverb/echo due to it being an indoor stadium.

                  CATCHER POSITION BEFORE PITCH
The catcher should also move and set for the pitch before the pitcher even is getting ready to throw. Also, what about a surprise/quick reaction tweak. For example, catcher expecting a pitch low/below the plate and you accidentally pitch high above the plate, the catcher should try react late and catch quickly and almost have to stand up a little rather than just stick hand up normally as they aren't expecting it there.

                  BALL HIGHLIGHTED BIGGER WHEN BATTING
It looks so tacky sometimes that the ball appears like a beach ball! Have the option customary in the menus, do not have it fixed on!

                  CUTAWAYS TO THE COMMENTATORS
What about a unique feature when in broadcast mode that sometimes it cuts away to the booth and shows commentators chatting away or talking about stuff. Just for a few seconds or so.

There are probably tons of more little things that need improving but it will make a huge difference I feel! Sorry for the likely use of incorrect terminology

Here's a guy that just started.... posting what he thinks goes in the "little things" thread. Pretty cool of you to point out he's in the wrong thread and offer him zero advice on where to put something he clearly put some time into.

As for the MLB 20 Wish list.... I'm sure he would have known that too. At any given time there is about 25-40 members in here and 150 guests but every soul that wanders through here is supposed to know how everything works. You guys crack me up.

Scoreboard in Anaheim has little tidbits on each hitter during their at bats. For example, player x has y hits in his last z games.

                            Pretty cool.

3 tiny things I'd like to see tweaked:

                              1. Balls between CF and the corner outfielders. The game typically defaults you to the corner guy. The CF will usually be the one to call off the other fielder and make the play. I wish they would let us control CF immediately.

                              2. Make it easier to cut off a throw to a base from the OF. Players are taught to throw through the cutoff guy so he can cut it off if needed. We only have a brief chance, if at all, to cut off a throw.

                              3. The umpire mechanics are terrible. Not a big deal, but as an umpire, something I'd like to see tweaked.

Probably been in for years but last night I hit a bomb into the left field bullpen at Comerica and one of the pitchers in there reacted in real time to the ball. Same way they do in the dugouts now that I think about it but still I neat touch I hadn’t noticed before.

I don’t actually care about any of this.
