100% sure. Nothing is set to auto.

And even if it were set to auto, it resets players who aren’t even close to free agency. My DH has two years remaining on his contract in 18. Carry the save over to 19, and he’s in year 1 of a new five-year deal.

About to wrap up the off-season in 2018 and will try again in spring training to see if things still get messed up.

If so, it might just be time to say goodbye to those players. I may go back through old files and copy their rookie info over and recreate a handful of my favorites anyway.

      Update:

Reloading a dozen or so times from a post-WS, pre-offseason save, the issue always happened. Several contracts reset in significant ways, totally screwing up my budget.

Went back into 18, finished the offseason, and then loaded the Spring Training save in 19. Everything looks accurate now (save my 1B having a funky batting stance).

So if there are people considering carrying over old franchises, keep an eye on contracts and maybe don’t start in 2019 in the offseason.

What happens in 2020? Sooner or later you have to go through an offseason.

Meant don’t start your The Show 19 carryover save at that point. Finish the offseason in the 2018 game, then start in the new game.

          My franchise is in 2032.

My mlbts 18 franchise is in August of 2019. Do I carry over the save at that point or wait until Spring Training of 2020?

No idea. I didn’t do any testing. Just noticed the issue with my own save and shared the experience so others would know to look for it.

I’d say carry it over, sim ahead to the offseason, and check to make sure nothing weird happens. As long as you don’t delete your old file, it won’t change anything permanently.

But if you're looking for the real 2019 schedule, you can't get that if you don't carryover during the offseason. So this would be a very very bad bug. I'm almost there myself, so we'll see what happens.

if contracts in 19 are real & the 2019 MLB Competitive Balance Tax is $206 million IRL, why is it at $220 million in-game? in 2020 IRL it is only rising to $208 million & $210 million in 2021

I considered going back and redoing my 2021-22 offseason to see if less real players retired due to the bigger free agent pool and the same thing happened to me. Kris Bryant should have been a free agent and wasn't. Same with Lester. Also, Heyward is should have been on the last year of his deal and all of a sudden he had 3 years left.

I only tested this once, but you'll still get the 2019 schedule upon importing, even if you're still in the 2018 regular season. The calendar dates will be off by one (still 2018 I'm guessing), so Saturday March 30th will be the 29th.

I saved my 2018 franchise the day before offseason started, Carried it over to 19 and got the real schedule with the days and dates accurate.

Hmm. I'm almost done with the 2018 season using your excellent slider sets (thank you) w/ my own minor adjustments. Once I finish the playoffs I will have to do some experimenting. First carryover before entering the offseason. And then carryover after entering the offseason. And test what happens to contracts and schedules for me.

So I finally got a minute to sit down with the game. I believe the budgets, which affect the trade logic, have an issue because big market teams start with only 2 million or so to spend. They cannot trade prospects for a vet.

You can try in season signing a player. Will allow you to sign a player for around 2 million. Some smaller market teams can sign up to 11 million.

That means teams in playoff push cant afford to add a vet and teams in rebuild cant get rid of a contract.

A relatively average contract of 15 million is untradeable.

Wow. Hadn't started my franchise yet as I was waiting for the community rosters to drop. This is terrible. I really don't understand the neglect and carelessness demonstrated by SDS at times. How can they not have any process for vetting issues like this?

Hopefully it's addressed on the first patch, wouldn't be surprises if it wasn't though.
