Hi all, thanks for all your responses earlier. I have just a few more questions before I think about giving the game a spin (I'm a huge baseball sim hobbyist who has usually played text-based games and am interested in realism).


1. When you play out a season, does the game track fatigue? Is there a realistic injury system?


2. Do you typically play out one season or franchise? In either, how to you stop the AI from making terrible GM decisions? -- which is a problem in every sim.



3. Does the AI use its bullpen effectively? Or do you see wonky managerial decisions?



4. Lastly, do better rated fielders make a noticeable difference over the course of a season? Or, does it appear that the game engine is mostly just factoring in pitcher-hitter ratings?

You definitely have to give guys days off or they get tired. And players do get hurt I don't know how realistic or not but they have a variety of missed games due to injuries.

I play multiple seasons. If it is a 3 game series I manage 1 full game of the series, and quick manage the other two. If its a 4 game series I manage 2 full games and quick manage the other two. If by the trade deadline I'm out of the race, I quick manage the rest of the games of the season. Quick manage you don't enter the game but you can quickly move through a game and make all the decisions, it takes like 5 minutes. As far as terrible GM decisions, they're gonna happen unless you take control of ALL teams which I don't have time for that. Bad GM moves don't annoy me too much anyway.

Like the other responder said, the AI will use the same relievers if they have any gas left in the tank. I don't think the decisions are terrible but there is only so much an AI can do.

Unlike the other response, I see a difference in the fielders. I've seen a few OFs take really bad angles on deep fly balls and they end up not making the catch. And the great IFs are making plays that the bad IFs don't make.

Glad to hear it. I don't see any deep flies, or haven't yet, except for HRs.

The fly balls I am seeing are the ones that hang up there for what seems like eternity. But even at that, JD Martinez can play real deep and still get to a really shallow fly ball that's about 1/3 of the way between the IF and warning track.

Probably has more to do with how long the ball hangs than it does the player's ability.

I use the "high" fielding camera and you can really see the routes taken on deep flies.

Now that you mention it, I have always used high camera but I think I changed it to mess around and never put it back.

If its a close game and not much scoring, I will do it and may try it with someone who might not normally bunt. To say Judge will NEVER drop a bunt down, cant be said. Ive seen "power" hitters do it, not at a high rate through out the year, but in certain situations I could see it being called.
Even if you put bunts to zero, they will still try and bunt if the situation calls for it. The programming is set to score runs and win. It will just make a very low success rate. Is it the cpu's fault that it fools you or yours? I've been fooled by it, or not thinking and had it happen. Its part of the fun of manage mode. And in the end, it is a video game. It will never be 100% true to life. Just some intangibles that a video game will never be able to produce.


How I combat that is, throw low and away or off the plate (pitch around option or pitch out) so they cant get the bunt off and if its a suicide the run will be tagged out.

Question - in another thread someone said there is a glitch where there are no CPU substitutions during the game. Are you seeing this with no pinch hitters or bullpen usage?

MoM is really good this year and I am enjoying it but I need a Win. Other then Snell my pitchers are getting rocked so far. On that note how are you other guys doing in your season. I play every inning, every pitch btw

I'm 7-4 in my MoM franchise, fantasy draft. I've had a nice mix of games and results. I haven't seen anything that has made me question what's happening.

I've seen plenty of bullpen usage by the CPU. I havent seen substitutions during games but I have the DH turned off. I have seen players subbed in at the start of games though due to players needing rest.

You have DH off and there are no pinch hitters? Have you played today following the patch?

They will PH for pitchers and they do use pinch runners who stay in the game.

So far with the injury slider at 10 I have seen 2 pre game injuries. Nothing in-game which is starting to concern me that this was not fixed. I have only played 6 full games so far but getting concerned.

I really hope they have injuries. I will play a rotation and sim a rotation to get injuries if I have to. I hate doing it, but injuries is a must for my franchise. I didn't realize MoM had no injuries.

I do know the sliders have no impact on MoM. I've tested them by putting all batter sliders to 10 and pitcher sliders to 0, and then switched them but there was no difference.

I've played 3 games in rain but I THINK it's just cosmetic. I have not seen anything that says its WET except for players wet faces.


I've played about 7 games total and Yelich sucks. My pitchers are getting banged around and I can't win - otherwise Its GREAT!
