For me personally, I played almost an entire year of '18 on Balanced. Sure I noticed some framerate dips here and there, but nothing substantial. Maybe a week or two before '19 dropped, I switched my settings on '18 from Balanced to Fast (based on something I read in a thread in this forum). I didn't notice any major graphical differences between Balanced and Fast, but the framerate did improve. So for me, with '18 running in Fast mode, I was having an awesome time. The game ran super smooth.

I've been playing '19 on Fast since it came out. The framerate is nowhere near as smooth in '19 as it is in '18, for me, using Fast mode. It's not even close actually. Big time bummer

I have to agree. Frame rate seems to drop to 20ish at some ballparks. Makes batting really tough and foul balls incredibly juddery.

Also, 4K mode likely is at a locked 30 FPS and isn't having the same framerate drops/feels because it's already at such a low framerate. Most people witnessing the issue are playing on Faster, and it's going from a purported 60 FPS to something criminally lower in comparison on some aspects.

4k is not locked at 30, I see it higher all the time. It of course dips down to 30 (or below) occasionally, but I would say 45ish or so frames is quite common.

Someone here posted that NBA 2K (18 or 19?) had some major framerate problems on Xbox 1X, and they quickly patched/fixed it.

I had these same kinds of problems with '16 (sorry I know I'm repeating myself a lot in this thread). I remember posting here about it, and there were a few that agreed with me but for the most part everyone was saying I wasn't the norm. I actually bought both the physical and digital copies that year, hoping that would fix it. Nothing ever happened with that version. Which leads me to believe nothing will happen with '19, if some of us are having the issue and some are saying it's non-existent.

If I had to guess, just based on experience, there will never be any acknowledgement of poor performance/frame rate drops with '19. Those of us who are experiencing it, will either have to live with it or go back to a previous version. Or just don't play the Show at all.

That's all just a complete guess of mine, so take it with a grain of salt.

This game does play great though, just wish we weren't having this issue because it honestly kills my eyes. Plus it affects gameplay.

I think it can be fixed in a patch. 17 had a nasty hitch before every pitch that they eventually fixed, so there is hope.

Sports games that require timing should never have fluctuating FPS. Either lock it to 30 for those that only care about the visuals in sharper or lock it at 60 for balance and get rid of faster. The PS4 PRO should not have to resort in a sports game to set the resolution to 1080p

One easy way to tell that there is terrible FPS drops in all 3 modes

When the starting lineups are being talked about there is a big x button prompt on the bottom right hand side of the screen to skip the dialouge

If you stay with X pressed the circle builds up around the X leading to getting to the game quicker. Look at how it judders and is not smooth at all. That is all you need to know right there. Not the speed of it but the judder on the circle going around the X when you long press the button.

Is there a difference between the disc version and digital version? Or do both have frame rate issue?

I have zero lag issues, I game on a gaming monitor, don think it matters, but the Show hasn't lagged once for me.

I was having framerate issues quite a bit and now it seems to be alot better, and I really have no idea why. I have the pro, and I play on balanced mode and use retro cam for both fielding and batting. I've even played a bit with the dynamic fielding cam and now the game plays smoothly for the most part. Comerica Park was atrocious for choppy framerate earlier and now it's fine. I honestly have no.idea what happened but I'm happy!

So after initially 19 running on par with 18, today it seems like the frame rate is suffering a bit. Same parks, same conditions, same camera angles. I'm playing 18 right now and it's smooth as can be so idk wtf is going now. Slim base PS4 here.

I’ve noticed you may get more frame drops when using high cam for fielding. When using Retro cam for fielding there is a lot less drops.

It also varies from stadium to stadium. It never gets truly bad though on the Pro in either faster or balanced.
