Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
It's one of the ball-in-play camera options, alongside Low, Medium, High, Broadcast, and Dynamic. It's the same camera you see if you play Retro mode.
I put the ball in play just a couple of times in the framerate test videos I posted earlier. You'll see that camera in effect there (EDIT: at the end of the first video, and at the end of both at bats in the second video).

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
One main issue is the foul lines and batter's box lines tho. From the baserunning cam or the infield fielding cam, the chalk lines are constantly flickering and dotted. I reported this issue to SDS but haven’t heard back yet. Just heard a Twitch streamer comment on it as well, so hopefully they fix it.Last edited by jeffy777; 04-01-2019, 03:58 AM.Comment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
Don't know if it's me but noticing it less now.
Maybe i got used to it.
I do notice it after an out when the first baseman starts throwing it around the bases.
The throw to the second baseman is very laggy.
Also, as somebody else mentioned, when you see the line up screen and have to keep x pressed you notice the circle around the x going blue...looks like lots of frames skipping.
Doesn't really bother me that much, but this game is definately less smooth than 18.Comment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
I bought a brand new PRO with the game so mine did not need to rebuild the database which it does when a firmware is installed and still the issue persists
After a while your eyes adjust but it does not mean it should be the normComment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
Those with 4K tvs or monitors
Please set the PS4 PRO and this is only for the PRO console
Set the resolution to 1080p and start the game but select balanced mode...
Only test on balanced mode
It is 1440p but it ss to 1080p output
I feel this improves the jaggies on the image and it seems to definitely improve the FPS issue a bit....Could be me getting use to it but need fresh eyes to testComment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
I do not think you can supersample on and off on a 4k tv/monitor
if the game ss it would be tied to the code and if it does not then you can raw feed 1080p
I think the game ss be defaultComment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
Let me start by saying I'm playing on a 4k TV with HDR ON.
So the same thing was happening for me, but it was only happening sometimes. I was more worried about the drops when I was batting then anything else, so that is what I will be mainly referring to.
I have no idea if this is an actual fi, if its a placebo, or if I'm just getting lucky. But to me it seems like different parks, play better on different settings. I'm not quite sure but it seems like time of day could be a factor as well.
The reason I say this is because when I play at night at Yankee Stadium with the game on "Faster", the game is a mess for me. When I put the game on "Sharper" though its all of a sudden a whole lot better. Its not perfect, but batting is so much better. Now on the other hand, when I play at Progressive Field at night its the complete opposite. If I play on "Sharper" its a complete disaster for me, where as when I play on "Faster" its much much smoother.
Again I have no idea if this is a placebo or not. But I suggest giving it a try. I never use balanced by the way. I may end up using it though as I haven't played at every park yet. But for now this seems to be working for me. Good luck all.Comment

Re: MLB '19 Framerate drops/sutters help and discussion thread
That has nothing to do with FPS drops, rebuilding the database only helps with lag in the OS

I still vouch for it. Made a world of
Difference in mine.

I’ll say this the frame rate hits are pretty obvious. At this point I’ve adjusted to them and it’s not really affecting my enjoyment of the game. All of that said in the year 2019 and with this being the umpteenth edition of the game we should be way past frame rate issues at this stage. To say this is a disappointment would be an understatement from where I sit.
