Okay just as some of you said it has nothing to do with the TV

I just received the Samsung qled TV one of the best in the market and the framerate drops are still there

Guys, be sure to report this directly to SDS if you haven’t already. The more bugs we put in their ear, the more likely they will be to address this issue.

This would be a rather long project, but eventually I want to look to all thirty stadiums with varied roof and time conditions (I won't regard weather though, clear skies only) to see exactly which stadiums have framerate concerns, and which experience the absolute worst of it, etc. I mean from a scientific standpoint alone, I can say that every fastball you face at Minute Maid Park will receive at least three frame duplicates. Do some stadiums have less? Do some have more? I'd like to continue those tests for sure.

At that point, I'll have quite a bit of data to send over to SDS.

But will they listen to you? That’s the question. Hope so. But do they not see this when they and community members test the game?

Not sure, but this is actual measurable and comparative data this way though.

And I don't know, do you see it? Did you see the YouTube videos that I posted earlier? Some people don't see it. Some people still think their televisions can fix this (maybe not anymore after Yankeefan1991 admitted defeat with his brand new display). Plus, there always seems to be a little something that the shipped game comes with that doesn't happen as they test and test, much like the PA announcer's pre-patch audio mix. I don't know how it happens, but it does.

Maybe they were content enough with it, saying: "Welp, we tried!" If there is enough of an uproar or outcry over it though, there is a chance they go back to those ballparks and ask: "Where do we go about optimizing this?" Clearly something changed in this game from one year to the next if stadiums that didn't have framerate concerns in 18 now do in 19.

I totally see it and it’s random of when it chops. This is the only game that does it. Madden does it a little bit but not like the show. This is a legacy issue. Last year was better but I remember this being a problem for years. It’s not game breaking but makes the game less enjoyable. People say they don’t see it because some are less sensitive to it. It’s there for everyone on every copy we can all agree on that.

I have a PS4 PRO with a 1080P samsung tv. It has the 240hz refresh rate.
This game looks and plays beautiful. The PS4 PRO made a huge difference.

I mean yes, if you go back to the PS3 days even there are some parks with framerate issues. I don't recall them being actual slowdown chops, though. This is the first time I recall witnessing this on PS4 Pro in Faster mode.

Are you enabling said refresh rate? How much input lag is there?

Better yet, what model do you have?

I submitted a report to the show nation and received a “thank you we will let the team know” response.

There is a thread at the show nation talking about this issue with links to this thread. A Victor at SDS replied to post with a thanks we will let the team know.

That is the only response I’ve seen

I don't have to enable anything. I don't have any input lag so far. I'll have to look when I get home what model tv I have. The only framerate issue I have seen is the pitching meter would stutter during wind-up

In other words, you're playing with out-of-the-box settings, which means I still have no idea whether you're playing in 60Hz, 120Hz, or 240Hz.

A 240Hz television doesn't mean it always operates at that frequency, it means it's capable of sustaining that much if set that way, and depending on the set can even do frame interpolation, which is what can allow for the smooth operation I referred to earlier.

Please be sure to check out that model for me, if you're able. In the meantime, have you seen the two YouTube videos that I posted? Let me know if you see a visible difference in pitches coming in between the Spring Training stadium and Minute Maid Park (make sure you do it on a screen that is running at 60Hz, or your phone).

Curious what you mean by this. I know it's not always the smoothest framerate, but stutter is an interesting term to use here.

Really hard to swallow that we must beta for them. No way the devs do not know the game has issues with stutter and FPS drops but they might feel not enough will make a big deal about it.

I refuse to believe that they do not see the issue

SCEA is lucky that Digital Foundry does not test baseball games or sports games except Fifa or they would be called out on the horrible issue here and the lack of polish in the game with 0 AA

Refresh rate has zero to do with fps drops, 240hz is all fake propaganda as no led tv goes over 120hz and only the high end ones do. But 120hz native means nothing for the PRO as Sony does not allow 120hz like PC and XBOX

Plus I can't lie, the framerate issues killed my excitement for the game a little bit. The time I would have spent playing MLB '19, I've spent watching a bunch of baseball on MLB.tv

IMO that’s a lot of time spent that wouldn’t really solve anything. The game would not be fun if you could only play it in a limited amount of ballparks.
