Who wants to bet this doesn't get patched? And if it does the trade off will be guys like ohtani can't hit in franchise anymore. For some reason I can just feel this coming down the pipe

But I have pitchers with no secondary position being put in to DH or RF.

The pitchers I’ve seen, don’t show a secondary position, but when you look at their player card in the line screen it shows them listed as an outfielder which is why I assumed they had a secondary position set. Maybe I was confused, I’m not sure. But when I recreated the pitchers effected on the A’s the problem went away for the A’s specifically. I don’t have it in me to go through every team and recreate tho lol.

The easiest patch would be to make the secondary positions editable for pitchers.

Clearly, somewhere in the code there is an option to make pitchers into two-way players. Just make that visible/editable, SDS.

And this is part of what gets me about this whole problem. We've had no starting pitchers gets stamina upgrades through training now since... '17? '16? We can't get a patch or anything to fix this for years now; we have to do the workarounds ourselves. You know, the paid customers. One player who goes both ways with regularity shows up, ONE player, and now we have to adjust everything and screw up lineup logic because reasons.

If the trade off for having lineup logic work, post-fantasy draft logic work, lineup/rotations actually work was that Michael Lorenzen was a marginal hitter or pitcher or Ohtani was strictly a starter or DH, I'd take it.

In my main pirates franchise this is still happening every game with the A’s (two seasons in a row now)

Even tho I’m in the NL it’s kind of lame knowing one team is hugely disadvantaged because they have a .100 hitter getting 500 at bats

For those that are experiencing the issue can you post the following:

Carryover or New?

If carryover:

* What year is your carryover from?

* When did you carryover your save..mid season(including playoffs) or offseason?

If new

* Which SDS roster are you using? (Launch, last update, first update, etc...)


This bug is not universal. I have not experienced this bug and I'm about to turn the calendar page to June in franchise.

To answer the above I am using a carryover franchise from 2016. I carried over in the offseason.

Its important to share these details as this may allow us to find what is triggering this bug, thus helping the community for one and two giving information to SDS to potentially patch quickly.

Did some more testing...

Results:

- started a new season w/ oakland using ridins rosters
- the edits i made to that roster were:
- added players to each team to make a 40 man roster
- had the cpu auto reorder PRIOR to the franchise even being created
- started a franchise and loaded this roster
- started the franchise IN SPRING TRAINING
- pressed the sim to regular season button, basically allowing the cpu to make any changes it wanted to their respective teams

Results in season:

- Simmed to the all star break
- Checked all teams 4 lineups and rotations
- no team had a pitcher in their lineups or as a "selectable" replacement
- all teams had a full 5 man rotation
- outlier here was some teams had long relievers as startes if a starting pitcher was hurt
- checked ever game for every team that had been played (MLB ONLY)
- no team, at any time, had a pitcher either start, pinch hit or come in as a defensive replacement for any team (AL or NL)

in conclusion... i think its random as many people have pointed out. i dont think the "edit pitcher" option would work because judging by a few people, it has happened regardless of a pitcher having a secondary position.

Possible "Fixes"
- 30 team control
- in my opinion this isnt viable unless you are going to go into each game and manually edit prior to simming
- controller switch method
- as many pointed out, if it happens against you, switch controllers to the other team and swap out the player affected

outside of those 2 fixes, its hold your breath and pray it doesnt happen. i hope this long winded test helped anyone experiencing the problem or anyone on the fence about starting a franchise....

Mine happened to the A’s (maybe other teams haven’t checked all that’s just the one I noticed) 30 team control with osfm v1 rosters with minimal edits (changed a few players inaccurate ratings, like 15 edits total)

I started a brand new RTTS with the "Full Minors" roster set. No carry-over stuff.

The very 1st game of the season had my team's pitcher leading off, but playing as the DH.

I'm about 4 games into the career, so still very early, but that's the only time it happened. I really hope this doesnt re-occur.

Guys that have come across the issue can u please make a screen shot of your franchise main menu? Need to make sure lineups, rotations, trades etc are not set to AUTO.

I don't think screenshots are necessary. It's happening to enough people.

And whether or not lineups is set to auto, that's not the issue since it's not impacting everyone.

Even if a lineup is set to auto, and a pitcher in the AL is being subbed in, that's an issue.

Asking folks what their setup is is sufficient to attempt to diagnose which I know isn't easy.

Also under game settings make sure your mode Pacific options are all set to MANUAL for lineups, rotations, 40 man roster, roster moves, waivers, injury management, trades, free agency etc then report back if this has helped.
