This isn’t something that should have to be “worked around”. What about everyone who doesn’t have 30 team control? Even for those who do, it’s a glaring issue. I think someone made the example already, but it’d be like your backup QB starting at RB and getting 15 touches a game. Hopeful that they are working on a fix...

And I bought this game and sure as hell am not going to stop playing it. It’s the best game on the market imo. (Also helps that there aren’t any competitors - same with madden).

This issue is brand new, to my knowledge, and is pretty glaring.

So, is it true that this hasn't been fixed in the latest patch? That is one thing, but not even acknowledging the issue is even worse than not fixing it at all.

I don't play DD, and feel treated like a second rate customer due to the lack of focus on Franchise issues. The OSFM rosters are incredible but wasted by the issues around rosters within the game.

No it wasn't fixed. By not fixing it they probably are hoping we will stop playing franchise abd go to Diamond Dynasty, which I will never do.

Hey guys, this is a serious question and I truly am seeking knowledge and understanding here.

I have tried 5 rosters, 4 different franchises that I started in 19 and 2 carry over franchises from 18 (one started in 16/one in 18). I have not seen any DH problems or Pitchers out of position in Rosters.

So my question is what is actually happening for you folks that have this problem, how do you spot it, is there a "safe" roster or work around?

Please I am not doubting its appearance or that it is happening. I am trying to understand and gain knowledge of the situation.

The way it is happening is the CPU randomly will put the pitcher in at DH on CPU controlled teams and even user controlled teams. I came across this today where the pre game lineup screen had one of my pitchers as the DH and had his position as RF even though he has no secondary position. I just swapped him out for a position player then started my game.

It's basically pitchers with no hitting abilities being put in as a DH or showing up as an OFer in the substitutions screen and pre game lineup select screen.

There really is not roster that is safe. It's random in which it happens.

You'll easily be able to replicate it. Download the OSFM roster, start a franchise with the White Sox, and promote Dylan Cease to the major league roster (doesn't matter who you replace). Put Cease in the starting rotation and go to play the first game against the Royals. When you get to the lineup screen Cease will be on the bench and available to hit. Sim a few games and the CPU will put him in the lineup for some games.

Edit to say this isn't linked to any particular roster.

Played a game using a 1997 Historical roster (that is VERY well done) and played an exhibition game the other day - Houston (cpu) at Baltimore (user) - BOTH teams (cpu and user) had a pitcher in the DH slot. When I changed them in the pre-game menus for both teams, the pitchers were both then made available as RIGHT FIELDERS. So it's a problem...

This bug needs to be addressed big time.

For the record so far:

I carried over my Year 3 Yankees franchise in the off season and I have not encountered the bug at all on any team.

I started a brand new Fictional Franchise with Bacons roster and have not seen the bug at all.

I have not attempted to carry over any classic rosters from 18 yet.

But obviously this is real. I really hope SDS is testing and recreating this bug and I am sure they can.

I am confident it will be resolved very soon.

I have had no issues in my franchise, but knowing this bug or whatever we are calling is out there waiting to happen, it is really getting to me. I am having a hard time getting in my franchise this year because I am constantly waiting for it to happen and spending way to much time going thru teams and such to see if it is happening. I play RTTS as well and this has already dampened that experience as well. I think I just may bail for a bit back to '18. I believe '19's gameplay is very much a superior product in my opinion, but this issue doesn't exist in '18 and I have a 5 year Padres franchise that I could jump back into and at least enjoy myself.

I understand the mindset and I'm not trying to talk you out of going back to '18 so you can just relax and enjoy playing baseball.

I just want to say, that I am 70+ games into my franchise, and I have yet to experience this bug myself (playing interleague games) or with any simmed games for other teams. I check everyday when I view the boxscores.

I don't know what the trigger is, and the not knowing is extremely frustrating for everyone because if it truly is "random", then I don't know how long it would take or how difficult it would be for SDS to find and fix. It unfortunately may not be able to be fixed via a patch.

Again, I'm not trying to talk you out of going back to '18. But I just wanted to share that while it seems this bug could pop up at anytime, throughout 70+ games I haven't seen it nor do I honestly expect to, because personally I think it would've happened by now.

Anyways...just providing .02 and my experience involving this issue.

Ramone just said on stream that they're aiming to fix this issue in Patch 1.11 (which is behind 1.10 which isn't out yet). No date given for either patch.
