Re: MLB The Show Coming to Additional Console Platforms, as early as 2021

I don't think this means we'll see growth where we would like to see growth.

I also don't believe this will create any negative effect as some are predicting.

I honestly see this as a moot point for the most part and the status quo will probably continue.

Most importantly though, I'm excited for those on other platforms to be able to play a baseball game once again. Great job by all getting this done!

I think to take this beyond the face value of the announcement is impulsive. All that is known is that video game baseball fans, who were not Playstation console owners, will now have the opportunity to play the game without having to fork over hundreds of dollars for a console to play it on.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

and does this mean Halo is closer to being on PlayStation? lol
probably not, but I wouldn't 100% rule it out either
I mean, Halo is on Steam now, and we never thought we'd see that day...

So does this mean that XBOX 1 will get a game made, or is this just for Scarlet?

I can't see MLB ignoring the installed console base of the XBOX 1, so hopefully we get at least a port of the PS4 version as soon as possible. Anyway, I'm stoked!

pure speculation on my part but if I was betting on the Show's reputation as a ''system seller'', I'd bet X-Box would want to capatalise on that reputation. but that's where these strange bedfellows will have to hammer out some details, if they haven't finalised them already. it's to Sony's benefit for the Show to be on X-Box One. and it's probably to MicroSoft's benefit to be a system seller. it's gonna be interesting, to say the least

The PS4, PS5, Switch, and XBOX Scarlet are locks. PC is probably very likely but I’m not sure it’ll be on XBOX One.

It's going to be embarrassing when the game runs smoother online on XBL than PSN.

I think what they will do is release certain DD cards first on PS and stuff like that.

Let's see how other mutiplatform, one year cycle sports series are doing

                    NBA 2K - Great
                    FIFA - Bad, getting worse
Madden - Don't even know anymore
                    NBA Live - RIP

I am excited, but I can't quite explain why, other than feeling like a proud uncle. But I feel like in 5 years we will look back at this as a bad day, after things had already begun to trend down.

Playing MLB on switch will be like when it was on PSP.

I know what you are saying but take a look at EA. they havn't made any sports game better only worse
                        with their MUT mode crap

this will be more mainstream and the DD mode would be where they will oversell this just like EA do with the MUT mode garbage. and this scares me now. SDS were much better when they were a smaller company. it be like CD red Project becoming bigger greed is good as they say.

With this they'll hire more people to help develop the game for all the different consoles. I think is a good move it all falls on the direction, and the people in charge of working on the modes to deliver.

Another thought what If MLB purchased SDS from Sony? Could that even happen?

I hope you know they are still using Sony servers and more than likely those users will have to enroll as a PSN user.

Honestly I bet this was getting expensive for Sony for the amount they'd sell. This probably had to happen to be able to afford the license.
