    Re: 13th vs. 17th?

If someone is a DD and/or RTTS gamer then it might make sense to pick up the game earlier because of all the added goodies in terms of card packs and stubs they will receive. But for the others who only play franchise mode, this is a classic "Pay to play" scenario. On one hand it stinks, but with that said, SDS is not forcing anyone to spend the extra $$$.

Well I pre-ordered the standard version from the ps4 store.. Should I expect it on the 13th or 17th? They really make you pay an extra $20 to play 4 days earlier?! Are you kidding me??

With all the confusion I called all over gamestops in Michigan. The standard version is being released the 17th (or 16th at 9pm ET) The anniversary and/or MVP versions are being released on the 13th (or 12th at 9PM ET). Just wanted to clear it up that there is no way to get the standard version on the 13th.

Again, you're not paying an extra $20 just to play the game 4 days earlier. There is content that they give out for those that choose to purchase the MVP or anniversary edition (Gamestop only), along with access to playing the game 4 days earlier.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

It is the 17th for the standard version no matter the delivery method.

For me, this is the last Show I am buying as I am not going to the PS5. It was about the steel book and the other stuff for my last version.

Heck I work a 12 hour shift on the 13th then I am on call that weekend. It's not just about the 4 days early for a lot of us.

I actually did mine through Target. My wife works there and you get a 10% discount plus another 5% for their credit card so I got mine for like $72 total with tax and free shipping.

Yup, this isn't a new concept at all. There's a few developers that do early access along with some extra goodies for those that get the higher tiered versions. The extra $20 isn't just to play the game early.

You are correct in saying paying the extra $$$ gives you added content (usable for DD folks and RTTS peeps). But it's not just a Gamestop promotion. Early access for the game is being advertised on the PlayStation website.

The GameStop by my house will be breaking the street date so clearly they don’t care. If nobody reports them there’s no way to get caught.

                      Re: 13th vs. 17th?

I paid more to get it on the 13th digital. so that I have the whole weekend to play with the rosters before I start. (they will probably release a patch on the 17th though wasting my time like last year)

this is why I don't understand why people think digital will take over the world your always stuck paying more and can't change it and actually don't own it only paying a licence to play it

Let me be clear I AM paying $20 more to play it 4 days earlier. that is the ONLY reason I am paying more couldn't care less about stubs or I wouldn't have bothered. so [pleases don't tell me that I am getting more content to pay more because I am but won't be using it

they dont make anyone do anything. everyone who pays the extra $20 does it of their own volition

I am forced to play digital versions of games these days because about a year or so ago the CD drive on my PS4 malfunctioned and spending $$$ to repair it didn't make sense especially if the PS5 will be released in the not too distant future.

Judging by the teams you like, you're a new yorker, and not in the bronx...that narrows it down to probably 300 gamestops. Be careful or they'll figure you out

Lol yes it’s in New York. I won’t post which GameStop since I simply don’t trust that somebody won’t report them.

GS is usually pretty tight with keeping to street dates as far as selling to the gen-pub. there is always going to be someone somewhere (GS, Walmart, Target) who will sell early to a trusted friend, then ring it up for a receipt after the street date release.
