There’s also the occasional mom and pops stores that will sell games early too. I used to have one around me that would release games the second their shipments arrived. It closed it’s doors years ago though.

So, I was about to preorder through gamestop online but why is it charging shipping? Am I missing something? I'll just back out and go to the store sometime this week and do it there.

If that’s how you want to view it then sure

But for those who will take advantage and use the additional goodies obtained, then the $20 gets you more than access to the game 4 days early.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

or you could view it as this is what you're paying the extra for. would it be better for you if they gave all this stuff away for free at no charge, and a March 13 release across the board for everyone? doesn't sound right to me

and the 4 days early is just a little extra icing on the cake. and if those other things are of no interest to you, then obviously you pass, and start playing on the 17th instead.

Guys, people that are going to complain are still going to complain no matter what you show them. Let us enjoy the game early and they can save their money and play on the 17th.

                Re: 13th vs. 17th?

The Show is the only game I annually purchase day 1. Every other game I buy (except RDR2) I buy used. I have no issue spending an extra 20$ for something I really want to get it 4 days early.

I only dabble in DD offline only so my only motivation is the early access.

Agree. It’s $20 lousy dollars. I’m sure that amount gets wasted on something else during the year so if you’re chomping at the bit to get started it’s no big deal. I’m ready for The Show and some exploring.

And some people are on a fixed income with very little money left over each month to spend.

But to me. I don't care when I get the game. Probably won't be till around June, IF I decide to buy it. I want to see what's been removed from the game this year, what hasn't been fixed, etc before I spend money. Also, I'm not going to preorder something with no real information on the parts of the game I prefer. I don't play DD so all their publicity for that doesn't get me excited.

I have a number of other games that keep me occupied and I really don't spend a ton of time in any of them. I spend a few hours on each daily. That doesn't change with The Show. It's a good game, but not one that will monopolize all my game playing time. I haven't played it at all since the WS.

No doubt, like I said during the year $20 bucks is probably wasted on something. If you love this game I'm sure during the year you can set aside an extra $20. The Show has never raised their price of the game from what I can recall. That in itself is a pretty good deal.

                          How is this a counterpoint?

If you're on a fixed income with little entertainment money to spend, then you should budget out how you're going to spend that entertainment money. It's not like you all of the sudden have to come up with the money on the spot to buy the game. It's been known for a few months what tier levels were offered for this game, so you can sit that money aside each month to until you have enough to purchase the version you wish.

At the very least as a fan of the series, or gaming in general, you know its going to cost $60 for the standard copy, so you could have been saving all year since last years game dropped.

Plus you can trade in old games that you're not playing anymore to help reduce the cost.

I will never understand the animosity towards the gaming industry for not only releasing various tier levels of the game at different price points, but also for giving out perks for those that wish to purchase the more expensive versions?

It happens quite often in just about every industry that sells a commodity or a service.

Sorry...just expressing opinion and tossing in my .02 for whatever its worth.

Honestly for me.... I am lucky enough in life that $20 is really not that big of a deal to me. I work hard for what I have earned in life but I have easily spent at least $150 in one night going out drinking (I live in LA, everything is more expensive) in my 20’s. I will gladly fork over the $20 to be able to start playing Thursday night. May even use a vacation day Friday and Monday. Since my girlfriend and her son moved in I have way less time to play then I am used to. So time to pull out the ol hooky card.

Agreed, MLB The Show is the one game I get really excited for, and now.....I'm in town that weekend, so it's on. With all of that said, any trade-in deals or anything going on at GameStop or BB, etc. for the Anniversary version?
