Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
Sometimes to get your games to be a bit smoother you have to rebuild your database on your ps4. It like a cache dump or hard drive defragmenting.

But when I popped ‘20 in, I noticed I was dropping more frames than usual. So I did a database rebuild and now it’s as smooth as silk. I’ve played 2 straight games on the PS4 pro - HDR balanced without any stuttering whatsoever.
When there are no frame rate issues, this game is freaking gorgeousComment

Not sure how people can say that the framerate issues were improved from last year when it is worst. This is on balanced and it got worst, throws from third to first are full of judder and foul balls as well. This is awfulComment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
I’m the first to bash a game if it’s not good. I have zero issue giving negative feedback when it’s deserved. But this game looks and plays better than ever. It’s close to perfect as far as what I want in a baseball game.
The Franchise mode is pretty stale however. I think they literally didn’t touch it for 2 years and just basically added a half-*** relocation feature with no decent stadium choices.
I just decide to give them the benefit of the doubt because the gameplay is top notch. And if you like DD, the content is going to be crazy this year. There are already a ton of things to do on Day 1. And ROTS is pretty fun as well. They’ve made some decent RPG tweaks to it and combining that with the real minors players (most of) that can be a really immersive experience.
If it seemed they put any effort to improve Franchise, I’d give it a 10/10. But because they haven’t, it’s gotta be a 9. That’s how good the gameplay is coming from someone who is a Franchise player at heart.Last edited by Vmascarello; 03-13-2020, 04:42 PM.Comment

Also, the CPU will pick certain pitch types if he sees a consistent weakness. For example, throwing a specific pitch if you miss repeatedly against it. If you often swing early, he'll sometimes throw a change up (or if he doesn't have one, another off-speed gets picked). However, these rules ramp up slowly since it's quite normal to miss a particular pitch several times just by chance. There's more but it's been a long time since I've looked at the rules.
This is elaborated on in the in-game strategy guide.Comment

Love the game this year!
After a lack luster last couple of years truly enjoying it.
Graphics and lighting are crisp-
Fielding is smooth
Only thing quirky Ive seen so far Schwarber ran down a fly ball in Oriole Park and ended up 8 rows into the stands and caught it for a out-
Only negative
Face Scans (Sad after 3 yrs they cant get new scans)Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
Gameplay is great. I'm noticing on sims that I was getting 20-30 prospect trades in franchise in April. This would happen even with slider at 0.
I tried a franchise using 19 rosters and it is back to normal. The roster must be corrupted somehow or imbalanced and CPU trying to correct.
